Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Hammond officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Grim was born in Austin. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1972. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone. He was a member of Green Forest United Methodist Church in Green Forest, Ark., and a volunteer firefighter. He lived in Lubbock at the time of his death. Survivors include his mother, Eula Faye Grim of Lubbock; a sister, Susan Grim of Amarillo; and a brother, Gerald "Jerry" Grim of Artesia, N.M. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James M. Mims, pastor, and Harry Williams, pastor of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Borger, officiating. Cremation by Memorial Gardens, with arrangements by Golden Gate Mortuary. Mrs. March lived in Clarendon as a young child. She moved to Amarillo with her family and attended public schools. While in her teens she was a member of Galilee Church of God in Christ. She worked at Burger King. Survivors include her husband, Johnny March; two daughters, Kirby March and Deaundes March of Amarillo; two sons, Johnathan March and Brandon March of Amarillo; five brothers, Ellis L. Smith of Clarendon and Sandra Williams of Denver; and four grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, June 24, 2000 Carl Wimberley Carl Wimberley, 93, died Friday, June 23, 2000. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Dawn Baptist Church, between Canyon and Hereford, with the Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Mr. Wimberley was born near Voss. In 1919 he moved to Canyon, and in 1925 moved to Dawn. He helped establish, and served as a deacon, at Dawn Baptist Church. He served 25 years on the Tierra Blanca Soil Conservation board. He married Ruby Smith in 1932, and they lived and farmed in Dawn for almost 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Ann Newell; a son, Ted Wimberley; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to Dr. David Miller Scholarship for pre-medical studies at West Texas A&M University Foundation, WTAMU Box 766, Canyon, TX, 79016-0001. He lived in Amarillo since 1950 and worked road construction. He retired from L.A. Fuller & Sons Construction Inc. Survivors include his wife, Jo Short, of the home; two daughters, Linda Cornelsen and Ella Mae Holder, both of Amarillo; three sons, Dan Short, Sam Short and William Harold Short, all of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren. She earned her degree in education at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. She taught in remedial schools in California for many years. She moved to Amarillo three years ago. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Goff of Amarillo; and three grandchildren, Brandon Siewert, Jessica Siewert and Jonthon Siewert. Mrs. Sigler was born in Sapulpa, Okla. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 35 years, where she volunteered much of her time. She married Jomax Sigler in 1947 at Sapulpa. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ellen Harris of Amarillo and Katherine Robinson of Bremen, Germany; a sister, Alma Grant of Sapulpa; and four grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Burke was born in Savanna, Okla. He owned H.C. Burke Insurance Agency. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was deacon and past director of the Singles Sunday school class. He was on the board of directors for Big Brothers-Big Sisters, and was past president of Life Underwriter's Association and the South Amarillo Kiwanis Club. He was in Who's Who of American Businessmen, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He married Juanita Meredith in 1946 at Floydada. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cherry Patterson of Modesto, Calif.; a son, Ronald E. Burke of Sugarland; a sister, Geneva Stansell of Floydada; and seven grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church in care of the Seniors, 1206 Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or the American Heart Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Khiva Temple and Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married Marjorie Ward in 1936 at Amarillo. She died in 1986. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Casey. Survivors include a son, Jerry Anthony of Amarillo; a brother, Malcolm Anthony of Abilene; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Bunch-Roberts Chapel with the Rev. Charles Mendenhall, pastor of the Victory Center, and the Rev. Jim Maynard, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Ritter was born in Guymon. He graduated from Goodwell High School in 1938 and attended Panhandle A&M College. He served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked at Michigan Wisconsin Pipeline as a warehouse clerk for 33 years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Elks Lodge. He married Filomena Kay Chiusano Hill in 1964 in Liberal, Kan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Ritter. Survivors include his wife; a son, K. Wayne Hill of Guymon; two brothers, Jerry Ritter of Pryor, Okla., and Russell Ritter of Sacramento, Calif.; and three sisters, Arlene Rowden of Guymon, Millie Burchfield of Hayward, Calif., and Juanita Hill of Perryton; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport. Mr. Claiborne was born in Augusta, Colo. During World War II he served in the Navy. He was an armed security guard with Pantex and a Catholic. Survivors include two daughters, Pam Hameka of Bacliff and Debbie Savage of Oklahoma; three sisters, Elaine Dubin of California, Mary Smalley of Oregon and Patsy Riddle of Texas; two brothers, Eddie Claiborne of Arizona and Billy Claiborne of California; and four grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was born in Pampa and was a lifetime resident. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1952. During the Korean War and after he served in the Navy. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1972 and retired in 1986. He was a businessman and entrepreneur. He had been a Realtor since 1980 and owned Action Realty. He also had been a National Farm Life Insurance Co. agent. He was local secretary of United Commercial Travelers Insurance and served on the board of Texas Grand United Commercial Travelers. He was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in the children's bus ministry. He married Mary Janis "Jannie" Silcott in 1957. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jill Lewis, Meghan Lewis and Melissa Lewis, all of Pampa; a son, Jay Lewis of Hereford; a sister, Glenna Jones of Edmond, Okla.; a brother, Monty Lewis of San Marcos; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Abundant Life Fellowship with the Rev. Vince Inman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Haddox was born in Milfay, Okla., and had been a resident of Borger since 1955. He retired from the oil field business. He was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship. He married Nancy Adams in 1954 at Bristow, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Haddox of Borger and Shane Haddox of Bastrop; a daughter, Renda Turner of Borger; his mother, Vivian Haddox of Claremore, Okla.; five brothers, Donald Haddox, Wallace Haddox, Leon Haddox, Denny Haddox and Gary Haddox, all of Claremore; three sisters, Betty Moore, Sheila Griffin and Treila Andrews, all of Claremore; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News, June 24, 2000 Edwin Klokholm PLAINVIEW - Edwin Klokholm, 68, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Lemons Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Cockroft, chaplain at Covenant Medical Center Hospital of Lubbock, and the Rev. Albert Lee Banks, associate pastor of Grace Community Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Klokholm was born in New York City and grew up in New Jersey. He served in the Korean War. He was a master machinist. In 1978 he moved to Plainview. He worked for the Tye Co. in Lockney and was instrumental in developing the equipment to plant old world grass. He attended Wayland Baptist University and graduated from West Texas State University with a registered nurse degree. In 1992 he served as director of nurses at Lubbock State School and was director of nurses for the Plainview / Hale County Health Department. He was night director of nurses at local nursing homes. He was an ordained Methodist minister and ministered to the indigent through Mercy Ministries at Hale and surrounding counties. He was involved with the food bank in Lubbock and was a Mason. He married Charlotte Snow in 1950 at New York. She died in 1983. He also was preceded in death by his second wife, Eddie Ray Whitner, in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Jordan of Aztec, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Ronda Denman of Plainview and Esther Evonne House of Amarillo; two stepsons, Albert Lee Banks of Amarillo and Paul Peterson of Walton, N.Y.; a brother, Erik Klokholm of Burnswick, Maine; a sister, Lisa Klokholm of Florida; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Mr. Ellerd was born in Lakeview and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1948 from Portales, N.M. He was owner and operator of City Television. He was an auto mechanic and television repairman and a member of Central Church of Christ. He married Loretta Vernon in 1945 at Olton. Survivors include his wife; a son, Alvin Ellerd of Amarillo; two daughters, Cynthia Campbell of Amarillo and Kathy Morris of Clovis; three sisters, Ruby Wright of Clovis, Olethia Joyce of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Marie Fisher of Salem, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
