Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Richards, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa. Mrs. Stover was born at Indiahoma, Okla. She lived in Leedey, Okla., until 1954, when she moved to Follett. She moved to Booker two years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Gerald L. "Smokey" Stover in 1933. He died in 1972. Survivors include two daughters, Marian Jones and Judy Burger, both of Phoenix; two sons, Willis Stover of Fort Smith, Ark., and Wayne Stover of Bonanza, Ark.; one sister, Cuma Maddox of Lone Wolf, Okla; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Amarillo Daily News, March 25, 2000 Billy Wayne Poole PLAINVIEW - Billy Wayne Poole, 67, of Plainview and formerly of McKinney, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Poole was born in Dallas and lived in McKinney 19 years before moving to Plainview in June. He attended the University of Corpus Christi Baptist College, where he played basketball. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked 13 years as an accounting manager for State Farm Insurance Co. and was vice president of Southwestern States Bankcard Association for 13 years. He was a Baptist. Mr. Poole married Patricia Major in 1966 at Durant, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Wayne Poole of Austin and Anthony Joseph Poole of Carlyle, Ill.; two daughters, Carolyn Hope Bertelson of Austin and Kelli Marie Wilson of Plainview; a sister, Margaret Allen of De Soto; and six grandchildren. Ernie McGaughey, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Johnson was born in Burkburnett and raised in Tulia where he attended schools. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. A self-employed diesel mechanic, he was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Maebelle Kay Guinn in 1946 at Fort Smith, Ark. She died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Goss of Tulia; three sisters, Ruby Crocker of Pampa, Ruth Combs of Fircrest, Wash., and Billie Ward of Hearst; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System or a hospice of one's choice. Mr. Johnson was born in Wellington and was a lifelong resident of Collingsworth County. Most of his life was spent east of the Lutie community on his grandfather's estate. He graduated from Samnorwood High School and attended Clarendon College. Mr. Johnson was employed by Warrick's Feed Store and was a published author of music and poetry. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sister, Linda Wardlow of Amarillo; a niece, Tabitha Martin of Amarillo; two great-nephews; and a great-niece. The family suggests memorials be to American Kidney Fund or the American Diabetes Association. Amarillo Daily News, March 25, 2000 William Earl Wofford QUANAH - William Earl Wofford 90, died Thursday, March 23, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clinton Young, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Wofford was born in Chillicothe and lived and farmed in Hardeman and Wilbarger Counties. He was a member of the National Old Time Ropers Association and First Baptist Church. He married Mary Jane Kelly in 1929 at Quanah. She died in 1994. He also was preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Lou Baker in 1972 and Lois Earlane Wofford in October. Survivors include a brother, Eugene Wofford of Vernon; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Golden Wing Hospice Foundation. Mr. Milloway was born in Larned and grew up in Plainview, graduating from Plainview High School. He attended South Plains College for two years. He was a member of the Hi-Plains Gem and Mineral Society and the First Christian Church of Tulia. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Charity Shone of Plainview; two brothers, Richard Milloway of Tulia and James R. Milloway of Gainesville; a sister, Billie Joanne D'urso of Springfield, Va.; and seven nieces and nephews. Viewing will be until this evening at Wallace Funeral Home. In 1985 he retired after 32 years as construction supervisor for Lewis Construction. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He married Leona Mullins in 1952 at Charleston, Ark. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Boyd of Dumas; a son, Tommy Paul Barley of Arlington; a brother, Wesley E. Barley of Dumas; four sisters, Naomi Cash of Dumas, Joyce Ann Burrell and Alene Richards, both of Fort Worth, and Alice Kay Grundy of Martinez, Ga.; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Mercado was born in Somerset and grew up in Dickens County. In 1945 he moved to Plainview where he was employed by Daffern Steel Co. until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Lupe Arrendondo in 1940 at Dickens. She died in 1998. Survivors include four daughters, Pauline Gonzalez of Lubbock, Beatrice Martinez and Linda Sepeda, both of Plainview, and Mary Lou Tijerina of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a son, Jessie Mercado of Amarillo; a brother, Venancio Mercado of Lubbock; four sisters, Louisa Hernandez and Lorenza Garcia, both of Spur, and Sotera Jimenez and Maria Elena Talamantes, both of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Interstate 40. Mrs. Niles was born in Shawnee, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1941 from Dalhart. She was a homemaker and had been a member of Southeast Baptist Church since 1941. She married John Samuel Allen in 1927 at McLean. He died in 1960. She married Floyd Niles in 1974 at Amarillo. He died in 1985. She also was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence "Ted" Allen, in 1996. Survivors include four daughters, Sandra Akin, Sammie Kruse and Deolvia "Dee" Rampy, all of Amarillo, and Nancy Morris of Howardwick; a son, Lonnie Allen of Hurst; two sisters, Faye Lynn of Irving and Doris Harrison of Wichita Falls; a brother, Bill Lawrence of Amarillo; 30 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Allen Norris, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Rev. Travis LaDuke, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Reynolds was born in Clarendon and moved to Amarillo in 1942. He served with the National Guard. In 1995 Mr. Reynolds retired from the transportation department at Pantex. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Amarillo Bird Dog Club and NSTRA. He married Ellen Arteberry in 1956 at Amarillo. She died in 1998. Survivors include three sons, David Lee Reynolds of Shamrock, Steve Terrell Reynolds of Panhandle and Tommy Dean Reynolds of Amarillo; a daughter, Paula McKee of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Reynolds of San Antonio; a sister, Sue Ball of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1996, attended Texas Tech University and was a junior at West Texas A&M University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon and was employed by Northwest Texas Hospital. Survivors include his parents, Barbara Petty of Canyon and Mack Steffey of Hart; a sister, Leslie Steffey of Canyon; and his grandparents, Faye Steffey of Lubbock and Lloyd and Louise Lust of Littlefield.
