Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Southern Baptist Church at Fritch with the Rev. Rick Parnell, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Pampa, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in Panhandle Cemetery at Panhandle. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rogers was born on the Bennett Ranch in Carson County. She moved to Rogers Ranch, south of Fritch, in 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She moved to Great Bend in 1999 from Pampa. She married Charles Weldon Rogers in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1997. Survivors include three sons, R. Roy Rogers of Great Bend, Ron Rogers of Pampa and G.W. Rogers of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Faith City Mission c/o Billy Hobbs, 401 E. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101. Amarillo Daily News, May 25, 2000 W. Russ Howard WHITE DEER - W. Russ Howard, 87, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Kelley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in White Deer Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Howard was born in Panhandle and had been a lifelong resident of White Deer. He farmed on the Howard place from 1932 to 1955. He co-owned the Farmers Elevator and owned and operated the White Deer Motel, retiring in 1975. He lived in Zapata during the winter and in Chama, N.M., during the summer. He was a charter member of United Methodist Men and White Deer Lions Club. He was a member of the White Deer City Council and White Deer Cemetery Board. Mr. Howard married Opal Ayleen Williams in 1934 at White Deer. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Alma Phillips of Palo Alto, Calif., and Lou McGee of Amarillo; three sons, Jerry Howard of White Deer, Cary Don Howard of Panhandle and Wayne Howard of Hatfield, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery at Follett by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Booker. Mrs. Kinzelt was born in San Bernardino, Calif. She lived in Darrouzett from 1946 to 1998, when she moved to Colorado. She worked in a U.S. Navy laundry between 1940 and 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She married Christian Kinzelt in 1946 at Miami, Fla. He died in 1967. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Suess of Cold Springs, Colo., and Charlotte Mandalek of Haven, Kan.; a sister, Mary Ellen Castoro, of Clearwater, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, May 25, 2000 Doy Dalton Skinner CHILDRESS - Doy Dalton Skinner, 76, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000. Services will at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing and the Rev. Kerry Wood officiating. Burial will be at Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Skinner was born in Fannin County and had been a lifetime resident of Childress. He served in the Philippines with the Army during World War II and was a part of the first forces sent to Japan. He had farmed and worked for the railroad before working for the Texas Highway Department as chief accountant, retiring after 28 years. Mr. Skinner was a member of the First Baptist Church and had served as deacon since 1948. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Skinner married LaJuana Prescott in 1947 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dalton Ray Skinner of Katy and Don Lynn Skinner of Plano; a sister, Lee Smith of Bonham; four brothers, Jim Skinner and Charles Skinner of Baylor Lake, Bill Skinner of Clarksville and Jack Skinner of Childress; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She had worked as a checker for Fite Food Market, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Briarwood Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Pampa Chapter No. 65. She married Belton Bryan Bearden in 1942 at Erick, Okla. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gloria Willson of Pampa; a son, Johnny Bearden of Dumas; her mother, Nell Colgrove of DeSoto; two brothers, Doug Abbot of Amarillo and Marvin Colgrove of Mesquite; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery at Shamrock by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Davis had lived in Wheeler County since 1949. She moved to Shamrock in 1952. She had worked as a medical aide nurse for Shamrock Care Center. She had also managed a motel. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Shamrock. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, William Louis Davis, in 1997. Survivors include a son, Curtis Davis of Shamrock; four daughters, Frances Clay of Reydon, Okla., Cledith Burrell of Wheeler, Martha Salem of Fort Worth and Bobbie Albin of Shamrock; two sisters, Imogene Willimon of Plains, Kan., and Ollie Mae Covington of Durant, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Mr. Carey was born in Borger and had lived in Amarillo for 41 years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as a sergeant from the Amarillo Police Department. Mr. Carey married Robbie Laman in 1958 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rayna Louise Miller, Ronda Lea Carey and Kimberly Jean Walker, all of Amarillo; four sons, Randall Lynn Carey of Wichita Falls, Ronald Lee Carey and Russell Lyle Carey, both of Amarillo and Ross Laman Carey of Blue Ridge; and nine grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was born in Louisville, Ky., and moved from Hereford to Amarillo in 1995. She earned a bachelor's degree in music from Oklahoma University and a master's degree from Kansas State University. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Marcotte was born in Silver City, N.M. She had lived in El Paso for 45 years, moved to Santa Fe in 1995, then to Amarillo in 1999. She had been a teacher's aide at Alta Vista and Ross Intermediate Schools in El Paso and was a member of the Park Professional Teachers Union. She was a founding member of the All Saints Episcopal Church and a member of Daughters of the King. She married Mark Lynn Marcotte in 1942 at Detroit, Mich. He died in 1995. Survivors include three daughters, Judy Putnam Radney of Amarillo, Kathryn "Katy" Marcotte Hill of Davenport, Iowa, and Ann M. Ortloff of Santa Fe, N.M.; a son, Mark Michael Marcotte of El Paso; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Osage St. Mrs. Cofield was born in Minneapolis, Kan., and had lived in Manhattan, Kan., for most of her life. She moved to Amarillo in 1994. She had worked as a bookkeeper for the family-owned lumber company and rental properties in Manhattan. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge in Kansas. Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Pitney of Amarillo; a son, Donald Cofield of Denver; a sister, Virginia Trechter of Manhattan; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with David W. George and Vera Walton officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Walton was born and raised in Texas County. She graduated from Texhoma High School in 1933 and earned a teaching certificate at Panhandle A&M College at Goodwell. She had lived in Boise City since 1969. During her 30-year teaching career, she taught music in the Plainview community, math in Keyes and English in Boise City. She was named Teacher of the Year in Cimarron County in 1967. Mrs. Walton was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Delta Kappa Gamma and Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association. She was a past member of the Home Culture Club and Square Dance Promenaders. She married Frank C. Walton in 1941 at Richfield, Kan. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carol June Shubert Abernathy of Tulsa; a son, Frank W. Walton of Boise City; three brothers, Leon Sharp and Eldon Sharp, both of Modesto, Calif., and Richard Sharp of Arlington, Va.; four sisters, Ruby Burger of Dumas, Texas, Gerlene Barrett of Modesto, Freda McLeod of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Betty Post of Pueblo, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Caldwell was born in Beaver County. She attended the Blue Mound Country School. She married Andrew Wilson Caldwell in 1934 at Perryton, Texas. They farmed in Beaver County. Mr. Caldwell died in 1976. Survivors include two sons, Andrew Caldwell of Balko and Aubrey Caldwell of Liberal, Kan.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Steve Holston of Idalou United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Idalou Cemetery by White Funeral Home. Mr. Lynn was born in Lubbock. He graduated from Ysleta High School in El Paso and earned a bachelor's degree from West Texas State University and a master's degree from Tarleton State University. He served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972. He taught school at Estelline, Muleshoe and Clint. He moved to Idalou in 1983 from Clint. He taught vocational agriculture and science classes. He was a member of the Ag Teachers Association of Texas and was recognized as a Future Farmers of America Honorary State Farmer. Mr. Lynn was a member of the Idalou United Methodist Church, where he taught the Open Door Sunday school class. He married Shirley O'Donald in 1971 at Canyon. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Toby Lynn of Lubbock, Tatum Lynn of Conroe and Tyler Lynn of Idalou; his father, Fred Lynn of Lubbock; a brother, Andre Lynn of Olton; and a grandson. Mr. Galey was born in Lubbock and had resided there for most of his life. From 1957-67 he lived in Amarillo. He served with Company E 8th Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga., in the Army. He had been a self-employed auto mechanic for most of his life. Mr. Galey was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Galey, in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Becki Galey of Amarillo; his mother, Loree Senn of Lubbock; two grandchildren; and one grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Alice Catholic Church in Plainview with Jim McCartney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park at Plainview by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Jungman was born and grew up in Rhineland. She attended schools in Rhineland and in 1947 she moved to Hale County. She had worked for Dargans. She retired in 1980. In 1970, she moved to Plainview and in 1990 she moved to Alvin. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church. She married Anton W. Jungman in 1941 at Rhineland. He died in 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia Berlin and Pat Peoples, both of Alvin; a son, Gary Jungman of Plainview; a brother, Albert Andrae Jr. of Plainview; a sister, Theresa Stennett of Lockney; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
