Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerry Trammell, pastor, and the Rev. H.L. Stevens, retired Assembly of God minister, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Anderson was born in Farmersville and had lived in Dumas since 1947. He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1978 as a tool-room mechanic at Diamond Shamrock. He was a member of First Assembly of God. He married Irene Lindsey in 1936 at Colony, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty June Pledger of Lubbock; a son, Ray Anderson of Dumas; two brothers, Travis Anderson of Visalia, Calif., and Joe Anderson of Selma, Calif.; two sisters, Velma Freeze of Visalia and Goldie Mae McKay of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 26, 2000 W.E. Thomas OLTON - W.E. "Bill" Thomas, 88, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Northside Church of Christ with Bryan Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mr. Thomas was born in Bowie and attended schools in Mobeetie. In 1945, he moved to Olton from San Diego. He was a farmer and an insurance and real estate agent. Mr. Thomas founded and operated Farmers Tax Service. He retired in 1990. He was a former mayor of Olton, serving for several terms in the 1960s. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ. He married Oveta Jordan in 1938 at Clovis, N.M. She died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Lonnie Thomas of Houston, and a grandson, Marshall Thomas of Olton. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 26, 2000 Maria Dora Mejia FRIONA - Maria Dora Mejia, 73, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday in St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in St. Teresa's with the Rev. Ed Sweeney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery in Friona by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Mejia was born in Alamo and moved to Friona 28 years ago from Sanger, Calif. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. She recently moved to Augusta, Ga. She married Benito Mejia Sr. in 1947 at Donna. He died in 1966. Survivors include three daughters, Juanita "Janie" Flores of Friona, Maria E. Dunlavey of Augusta and Ramona Ramirez of Riverside, Calif.; nine sons, Jose L. Vargas of Las Vegas, Benito Mejia Jr., Jose M. M. Mrs. Hendrix was born in Erick, Okla., where she graduated from high school. In 1924, she moved to Plainview to attend Lippert's Business College. After working for J.C. Penney's and Marse and Son, she owned and operated Hendrix Drapery. She had been a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ since 1924. She married Jack Hendrix in 1925. He died in 1977. He held a fifth-degree black belt in Taekwondo and was a Taekwondo instructor in Amarillo, Panhandle and Canyon. Mr. Ingram also was active in shoot fighting. He had worked as the night lead man machinist for NC Systems. He was a member of the Choctaw Indian Nation. Mrs. Bomar was born in Dodge City, Kan. Her parents, Mack and Ruby Stanton, founded the Clovis Evening News Journal in 1929, the first daily paper in Clovis. She was a reporter for the paper and also was a news announcer for KICA Radio. She was a member of Central Christian Church and had taught the Good Fellowship class. Mrs. Bomar was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. "Bill" Bomar. Survivors include two brothers, Mack Stanton of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Kenneth Stanton of Reno, Nev.; nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a past president of Business and Professional Women Organization. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Williams, in 1967. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church at Warner with Rev. Don Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Warner Memorial Cemetery at Warner by Smith Funeral Home in Checotah. Mr. Wallis went to school in Oklahoma City. He served as a sergeant first class in the Army and served three years in Germany during the Korean War. He had worked as a construction contractor in Amarillo. In 1977, he moved to Lake Eufala, where he opened a bait and tackle shop. He married Anita Overbey in 1956. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leslie Wallis of Amarillo and Mike Wallis of Warner; a daughter, Donna Wallis of Warner; his mother, Ella Mae Bray of Lake Eufala; and four grandchildren.
