Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell Ave., with minister Paul Sneed of the Central Church of Christ officiating. Mr. Gray was born in Clovis, N.M. He was a Navy veteran and worked in retail sales. Survivors include a son, Rodney D. Gray of New York; and a brother, Gene H. Gray of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 26, 2000 George W. Mohler Jr. George W. Mohler Jr., 55, of Wildwood, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000 in Amarillo. Services will be at a later date in Logansport, Ind. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Mohler was born and raised in Logansport. In 1971 he became township assessor for three years. He received his bachelor's degree in engineering and political science from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Mohler was a teacher in Esko, Minn., then transferred to Hubert Humphrey Job Corps in Minnesota and Roswell. He was with the Job Corps from 1983 until his retirement in 1992. He also served in the Navy. Survivors include two sons, Patrick Timothy "Tim" Mohler of Amarillo and Mark Allen Mohler of Houghton, Mich.; a brother, Bill Mohler of Logansport; three sisters, Debbie Logan, Dede Rhea and Teresa Gipson, all of Logansport; his father and stepmother, George W. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Kip Morgan of Amarillo and Don Wesley Morgan of San Antonio; two sisters, Francis Fox of Cisco and Florene Wright of Mayhill, N.M.; a brother, Jim Ross of Dalhart; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Hodges was born in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident. She graduated from Alamo Catholic High School and received her nursing degree from Amarillo College. She was a licensed vocational nurse and member of St. Laurence Cathedral. She married Robert "Robbie" Hodges Jr. in June at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Megan Marie Gallegos and Adela Margaret Gallegos, both of the home; a son, Christopher R. Gallegos of the home; her father, Edward J. She was a photographer at Photo Craft Studio for many years. She also worked as a mortician for Jamison's Funeral Home and was a cook at Texas Tech University. She was an Amarillo resident at the time of her death. She married J.D. Gant in 1971 at Lubbock. He died in 1997. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthews Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio. Mr. Bethancourt was born in McAllen. In 1969 he graduated from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He served in the Army Signal Corps for two years. For 10 years Mr. Bethancourt worked for Southwestern Bell including in Amarillo. He went into business for himself including five years in radio services and computer businesses before entering the telecommunications industry. For the past five years he was CEO of Taylor Communications Group. He was an active member of Texal Tel and other business associations. He married his wife, Mary Alice, 31 years ago. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Bethancourt of Houston; a daughter, Joyce Pope of Thoreau, N.M.; his mother, Betty Bethancourt of San Antonio; three brothers, Mike Bethancourt of Victoria, Jerry Bethancourt of Houston and David Bethancourt of San Marcos; and three grandchildren. Baca TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Joe C. "Chelo" Baca, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Anne's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Baca was born in Tucumcari. Seven years ago he returned to Tucumcari from California. He was a retired painter and member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Sandoval. Survivors include five sisters, Magdalena Griego, Tommie Apodaca and Angie Gonzalez, all of Tucumcari, Rose Estrada of Rio Rancho and Rita Chacon of Fontana, Calif.; and a special friend, Rasaelita Lucero of Tucumcari. She grew up in Portales and graduated from Portales High School. She was a past Worthy Adviser for the Portales Chapter of Rainbow for Girls, was a DeMolay Chapter Sweetheart and was a member of the Portales Chapter No. 26 Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she was a law enforcement officer in Potter, Randall and Lamb counties in Texas. In 1994 she returned to Portales and worked as a police officer at Eastern New Mexico University until her retirement in 1996. Survivors include a son, Scott Elliot of Portales; her parents, Fay and Ray Asbrook of Portales, and her stepmother, Eunice George of Clovis; her grandparents, Alma Marlow and Mildred George, both of Portales; a brother, Phillip George of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren. She worked in several businesses before she became a homemaker. She married Oliver Pruett Jr. in 1939 at Enid. He died in 1993. James Jones of Plainview and the Rev. Ferril DeFoor, pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Taylor was born in Floyd County, attended school in the Cedar Hill community and graduated from Lockney High School. He attended West Texas State University. In 1946 he moved from Cedar Hill to Lockney. Mr. Taylor was a teacher, farmer, rancher and owned a Laundromat. He served as co-op director for nine years and retired in 1999 after 10 years as a county commissioner. He was a member of the Assembly of God. He married Elwauna Smith in 1938 at Tulia. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Don Taylor, in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lawauna Ann Wesley of Canyon; two brothers, Dale Taylor of Hollis, Okla., and Junior Taylor of Cedar Hill community; a sister, Agnes Wesley of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Mrs. McCutcheon was born in Follett and lived in Perryton until moving to Oklahoma City in 1998. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Perryton and active in civic affairs. She was one of the founders of the Ladies Golf Association and was instrumental in the formation of the Perryton Club. She was involved in conservation and beautification efforts in Perryton. She married Dean McCutcheon in 1939 at Perryton. He died in 1999. Survivors include a son, Bob McCutcheon of Oklahoma City; a sister, Alice Doane of California and formerly of Perryton; and two grandchildren. Russell Byard, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Lockney, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by MooreRose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Hulcy was born in Baylor County and attended school in Round Timbers. In 1957 he moved to Lockney from Seymour. He worked at feed lots in Floyd County and retired in 1986 from Excel in Plainview. He married Mildred Ozell in 1994. His first marriage was to Eunice Welch in 1936 at Seymour. She died in 1990. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Travis of Plainview, Jerry of Sweetwater and Tommy of Amarillo; a daughter, Peggy Ballard of Hico; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
