Morgan C.L. Morgan, 65, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 24, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Temple Baptist Church with Richard Dickerson of the church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Morgan was born in Wellington. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Theresa Riddle in 1957 at Calera, Okla. He was the executive housekeeper at West Texas State University for seven years. He and his wife owned and operated the Bernina Sewing Center in Amarillo for many years. He also worked as a salesman, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Lions Club and Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Morgan, in 1997. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Morgan of Amarillo; a daughter, Karen Morgan of Fortuna, Calif.; two sisters, Tommie Jo Simmons of Amarillo and Learline Biter of Shamrock; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 215 Rosemary. Amarillo Daily News, July 26, 2000 Roy L. Custer Roy L. Custer, 74, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 24, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Randy Davis, pastor of Olsen Park Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wheeler Cemetery at Wheeler. Mr. Custer was born in Cline and lived in Amarillo since 1970. He graduated from Texas Tech University at Lubbock and served in the Navy Seabees for 20 years. He retired as a field representative for Texas Farm Bureau. He was active in the Allegro Motor Home Club and was a member of Olsen Park Baptist Church. He married Gladys Warren in 1971 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Lois Thompson of Amarillo; a stepson, Loyd Bridges of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Western St. Amarillo Daily News, July 26, 2000 Clarence Glenn Harris Clarence Glenn Harris, 48, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 23, 2000. Private family burial will be at Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Harris was born in Wheeler. He moved to Amarillo in 1976 from Shamrock. He was an Air Force veteran and worked as a chef for restaurants in Amarillo and Shamrock. Survivors include two sisters, June Whitaker of Shamrock and Joy Harris of Oroville, Calif.; and a brother, Jack Harris of Branson, Mo. The body will not be available for viewing. Amarillo Daily News, July 26, 2000 Margaret Tuttle Margaret Tuttle, 76, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 24, 2000. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., with Sister Betty Nickerson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Tuttle was a native of Amarillo. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy. She was a homemaker and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She married Don L. Tuttle in 1943 at Amarillo. He died in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Tera Tuttle of Amarillo; a son, Tom Tuttle of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Dirickson CLOVIS, N.M. - Samuel L. Martinez, 39, of Huntsville, Texas, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, in Lubbock, Texas. His sister, Mary Q. Dirickson, 35, also of Huntsville, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, in Brownfield, Texas. Combined rosary services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at Clovis. Combined memorial services will be at 10 a.m. in Thursday in the church with the Rev. Sotero Sena officiating. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Santa Rita Cemetery in Carrizozo. An additional combined memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Bob Bray officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was born in Ruidoso. He moved to Huntsville two years ago. He was a truck driver and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Mrs. Dirickson was born in Carrizozo. She was a secretary at Sam Houston State University and was a member of First Christian Church in Huntsville. She married Duane Dirickson in 1983 at Midland, Texas. Mr. Martinez is survived by a son, Samuel L. Martinez Jr. of Portales; and two brothers, Eugene Martinez of Livingston, Texas, and Trinidad Martinez of Clovis. Mrs. Dirickson is survived by her husband; a son, Joseph Duane Dirickson of the home; and two brothers, Eugene Martinez of Livingston and Trinidad Martinez of Clovis. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. MDT today in the Kenton Community Building. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. Whitely was born in Greer County. She graduated from school at Vinson and then moved to Cimarron County. She married J.C. Whitley in 1937 and they ranched in the Tri-State area around the Panhandle of Oklahoma for many years. In 1963 they moved to their ranch in Union County, N.M., and Baca County, Colo. Her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Francis Biles of Spearman, Peggy Thompson of Yuma, Ariz., Hazel Bradfield of Amarillo and Tommye Wiers of Summit, N.J.; a brother, James Francis of Surprise, Ariz.; a sister, Betty Wiggins of Kenton; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Wyatt was born in Boise City. The family moved to Des Moines in 1997. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Fricke was born in Josephine and had lived in Pampa since 1941. She was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress, retiring in 1973. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Josephine. She married Bill Fricke in Pampa. He died in 1973. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Chisum of Pampa, Flo Rita Hodges of Poteau, Okla., and Joyce Hackney of Gainesville; seven sisters, Grace Chapman of Greenville, Francis King of Campbell, Mildred Carmen of Lake Dallas, Moezell Neal of Portales, N.M., Peggy Reagan of Floyd, Nita Smiley of Long Oak and Leo Revels of Frisco; two brothers, J.C. Miss Cobb was born in Beckham, Okla. She graduated from high school in the Five-In-One community. She lived in the Five-In-One and Lockett communities most of her life. She retired after 23 years at the North Texas State Hospital Vernon Campus. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Amigos Sunday school class. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints Chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Watts was born in Myrtle, Mo. She married J.D. Watts in 1931 at Hollis, Okla. After marriage she worked on their farm and raised their children. Her husband died in 1978. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Tempe Mission. She also served as a secretary, teacher and president in the Relief Society organization. She had served as Sunday school teacher and in other positions for the church. She was active in the Hi Plains Genealogy Society and the Home Demonstration Club. She was a genealogist, an artist and a poet. She also was preceded in death by a son, Don Ray Watts. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Lou Watts of California, Sue Kinneer of Houston and Shari Measles of Utah; a sister, Faye Line of Michigan; seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ at Plainview with Ray Bailey, associate minister of Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock, Jim Brewer and Ralph Beistle, both ministers of South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by FreemanAbell Funeral Home. Mrs. Chilton was born in Rotan. She was a hairdresser in McLean and Dumas before moving to Hale Center in 1957. She was a volunteer at the nursing home. She moved to Lubbock from Hale Center in December. She was a member of South Plains Church of Christ and an active member of the Silvertones Sunday school. She married Johnie Marvin Chilton in 1948 at Pampa. He died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Ralph Chilton of Plainview; a daughter, Renee Brown of Lubbock; a sister, Corene Corley of Arlington; four grandchildren and one greatgrandson. Jerry Pollard of Calvary Assembly of God officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Hoisington Cemetery at Hoisington, Kan., with the Rev. Bob Courtney officiating. Military rites will be rendered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7428 and the American Legion Post No. 286, both of Hoisington. Mr. Farnsworth was born in Jennings, Okla. He served in the Army during World War II. He lived in Albuquerque, N.M., and moved to Pampa in 1994 from Hoisington. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Farnsworth. He married Donna Patterson in 1994 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael Farnsworth of Decatur, Ill., Douglas Farnsworth of Killeen and Terry Farnsworth of Fort Smith, Ark.; a sister, Nelda Gideon of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many grandchildren.
