He was a member of Bethel Assembly Church. He married Cora Jones in 1979. Osage St. Mr. Gonzales was born in Shamrock and moved to Amarillo in 1968 from Wellington. In 1971, he received his bachelor degree in business from West Texas State University. He was employed for five years as a director for KGNC, was a 27-year employee for Phillip Morris Tobacco and was a sales representative for the Texas lottery. He married Joy Chandler in 1969 at Estelline. He was preceded in death by a son, Kris Gonzales, in 1975. Robbins, 74, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan 24, 2000. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Laurence Cathedral with the Rev. Pat Hoffman officiating. There will be a service later in Hawaii. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Robbins was born in Ajo, Ariz., and grew up in Hawaii. A Navy veteran, he was a gunner's mate on the USS Chicago. In 1985, he moved to Amarillo from southern California. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a volunteer of the Veterans Administration Hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela J. Robbins of Tulsa and Laurie S. The family suggest memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 27, 2000 Elsewhere Ira Dunlap LUBBOCK - Ira Dunlap, 82, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in Sydney, Australia. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with Rev. Michael Passmore officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Dunlap was born in Oklahoma. In 1939, he joined the Dunlap Co., which his grandfather founded. He served in the military during World War II and returned to the company in 1946. The Dunlap Co. opened its first Lubbock store in 1943, and Dunlap moved to Lubbock in 1946. In 1985, The Dunlap Co. opened a department store in Amarillo's Western Plaza. Mr. Dunlap was a board director and officer in the company. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a son, Douglas Dunlap of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Norman was born in Durham. She married Melvin Acker in 1939. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Gladys and Savannah; and by a son, Melvin. Survivors include three daughters, Viola Ulrich of Beaver, Mary Dunn of Pratt, Kan., and Maxine Hendricks of Elkhart, Kan.; four brothers, Floyd "Hop" Raff and Lem Raff, both of Hooker, Mike Raff of Lompoc, Calif., and Bill Raff of Burns Flat; two sisters, Lillie Humphrey of Dalhart and Viola Moore of La Habra, Calif.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 27, 2000 Sadie Nash HOOKER, Okla. - Sadie Olive Hampsten Nash, 94, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Liberal, Kan. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Hooker Church of Christ with Glenn Walton of Amarillo officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. MST Friday in Canon City, Colo., with Randy Woodfin officiating. Arrangements are by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Nash was born in Jasper County, Ill. She moved with her family in 1905 to a homestead in the Hooker area. The family lived in Missouri and Woodward County, returning to Hooker in a covered wagon. She graduated from Hooker High School in 1926. She taught in country schools in Grand View, Lemon, Dague and Glen Rose. She also taught in Halstead, Kan.; Pratt, Kan.; Chula Vista, Calif.; Canon City; and at Hooker Elementary. Mrs. Nash attended PAMC in Goodwell, Northwestern at Alva and Western State in Gunnison, Colo., where she earned her bachelor's degree. She then taught in Crested Butte, Colo. She was involved with the Church of Christ in Canon City and Hooker. She taught Bible classes, volunteered at Black Mesa Bible Camp for many years, and also participated in the Old Paths Adult Camp. Mrs. Nash was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas County Retired Teachers and No Man's Land Historical Society. She married Clayton Nash in 1944 at Ventura, Calif. They lived in Chula Vista, Crested Butte and Canon City. Mr. Nash died in 1968. Five years later, she returned to Hooker. Survivors include a brother, Floyd Hampsten of Alva; two sisters, Bessie Herald and Geneva Ray, both of Hooker. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Hobson was born in Guymon where he attended school and graduated from Guymon High School in 1954. He later attended Liberal Vo-Tech. He worked as a Ford parts man and service manager in Guymon and Seattle. After his retirement in 1992, he returned to Guymon. He was preceded in death by two wives, Virginia Simmons Hobson and Donna Whitish Hobson. Mr. Badgett was born in Sadler and had been a Borger resident for 54 years. He was a pipe fitter for Local Union No. 196. He married Ruby Pardue in 1938 at Shay, Okla. He was preceded in death by two sons, Max Lynn Badgett in 1939 and Michael Glenn Badgett in 1980. She moved to Plainview where she managed Home Medical Equipment. She was a member of Iglesia de Cristo, 14th and Date, Church of Christ. She married Alfred Lincoln Barela in 1996 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Matthew Lincoln; her parents, Simon Jimenez and Diana Saldana, both of Hale Center; three sisters, Jennifer D. Jimenez and Bridgette D. Jimenez, both of Hale Center, and Leslie Dee Espino of Lubbock; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eliseo Saldana of Hale Center. Mr. Betenbough was born in Wheeler County and was a lifelong resident. He attended school in Center community and graduated from Shamrock High School. He was a farmer and rancher and served on the board of directors of First Bank and Trust. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Vernice Teakell in 1939 at Sayre, Okla. She died in 1987. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Nell Reeves, in 1979. Survivors include a grandson, Mark Reeves of Fort Worth; a granddaughter, Leslie Mettler of Baton Rouge, La.; and two great-grandchildren. Scott Richards officiating. Burial will be in Follett Cemetery by Mason Funeral Home. Mr. Harris was born in Shattuck, Okla., and graduated from Follett High School in 1964. He attended West Texas State University and Okmulgee Trade School where he received his certificate in diesel mechanics. Until 1969, he worked for Haliburton Co., in Woodward, Okla. He was a veteran of the Navy and served in Vietnam. After his discharge, he worked for Haliburton in Perryton then worked for Permian Oil Co., in Spearman. For eight years until his retirement, he worked for Baker and Taylor Co., of Spearman. He was a member of the Follett Methodist Church and later the Spearman Union Church. Survivors include his mother, Irene Harris; a sister, Patricia Brown; and a niece and nephew. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Drake was born in Red Star, Ark., and moved to Moore County in 1946. She moved to Sunray in 1967 and to Pecos in 1993. She was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God in Sunray where she was a Sunday School teacher. She married Dan Drake in 1933 at Cleveland, Okla. He died in 1993. Survivors include three daughters, Vera Mae Sellers of Pecos, Jearldean Kealy of Clinton, Okla., and Wanda Sue Bolt of Cleburne; a sister, Eva Norris of Talequah, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mr. Beighle was born in Owasso, Okla., and moved to Skellytown in 1927. In 1984, he retired after 39 years with Northern Natural Gas (Enron). He was a member of West Side Church of Christ and served with the Marines during World War II. He married Jo Chesher in 1946 at Skellytown. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tricia Trimble of Amarillo; a son, Wayne Beighle of Amarillo; a sister, Jewel Blackett of Paonia, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. "Bud" Adams, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born in Henrietta and graduated from Wichita Falls High School. He received his bachelor's degree in paleontology from Midwestern University. In 1963, he moved to Pampa from Wichita Falls. From 1957 until the present, he was parts man for Waukesha Pierce. A veteran of the Navy, he served in the Korean War. He was a 32nd degree Mason and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Doris Mann in 1968 at Wichita Falls. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Adams, in 1986. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven Reeves of Sherman and John Reeves of Pampa; a daughter, Julie Beth Land of Amarillo; three sisters, Frances Bardin of Midland and LaVerne Coulter and Barbara Staton, both of Wichita Falls; and seven grandsons. Mrs. Provine was born in Big Piney, Mo., and moved to Pampa in 1927 from Blooming Rose, Mo. She was a homemaker and member of Bible Baptist Church. Her first marriage was to Herchel Lee Blackstock in 1929 at Pampa. He died in 1950. She later married Jess Provine in 1950 at Erick, Okla. She was preceded in death by her second husband in 1970 and by a son, Herchel Lee Blackstock, in 1930. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery. Mrs. Buchanan was born in Kennedale and grew up in Kennedale and Rosco. She graduated from Silverton High School. In 1940, she moved to Brownfield then moved to Plainview and Hale Center in 1955. Mrs. Buchanan was employed by College Hill Day Care Center for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainview where she taught a women's Bible study class. She married Aldred Best Buchanan in 1928 at Silverton. He died in 1959. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Ruth Buchanan of Oklahoma City and Frances Sams of Plainview; a son, the Rev. A.B.
