Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Rowland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Abernathy Cemetery in Abernathy by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. England was born in Drasco. In 1938, she married Jim England. In 1948, they moved to Hale Center, where they farmed for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Her husband died in 1959. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Carlene and Bill Kirby of Plainview. The family will be at 1201 Broadway in Plainview and suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News March 27, 2000 Claudia Millsap MULESHOE - Claudia "Sadie" Millsap, 89, of Bowie, died Saturday, March 25, 2000. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. H.D. Hunter officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Millsap was born in Center Point, Ark., and moved to Bowie in 1983 from Muleshoe. She was a homemaker. She married Charles Homer Millsap in 1936 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1994. Her son, Rex Millsap, died in 1969. Survivors include a son, Ted Millsap of Muleshoe; a sister, Mary Katherine Robertson of Bowie; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of McLean United Methodist Church and treasurer of both United Methodist Women and Hillcrest Cemetery Organization. She married Bob Sherrod in 1947 at McLean. Survivors include her husband; a son, Joe Bill Sherrod of Amarillo; a daughter, Cindy Bichsel of Claude; two sisters, Ruth Hindman and Opal Bodenhammer, both of Longview; and three grandchildren. "Jay" Terry, 76, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bovina Cemetery at Bovina with Jeff Procter, minister of the Bovina Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Terry was born in Paris and was a retired farmer. During World War II, he served with the Army Air Corps. He moved to Ralls two years ago from Lubbock. From 1972 until 1988, he lived in Bovina, where he was a member of the Bovina Church of Christ. He married Ethel D. Livingston in 1951 at Hobbs, N.M. She died in 1988. Survivors include three daughters, Georgia Goggans of Winnsboro, Connie Strong of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ann White of Amarillo; two sons, Edward Terry of Muleshoe and Eugene Terry of Farmers Branch; three sisters, Edna Lovelace of Lubbock, and Mable "Chock" Stone and Bonnie Shoemaker, both of Ralls; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Reeder was born in Coffeyville, Kan., and had lived in Shamrock since 1953. She was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn; and a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Lacey Ward. She married Stanley Reeder in 1946. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Michael Moss, pastor, the Rev. Crispin Bradsher, and the Rev. Randel Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Bradsher was born in Bay Village, Ark., and graduated from Wynne High School at Wynne, Ark. He received a bachelor of science degree from North Texas State University and a master's degree from West Texas State University. He served with the Army during the Korean War. In Pampa, he taught math and science and was a member of First Assembly of God Church. He retired in 1994. An infant child preceded him in death. He married Laverne Dixon in 1952 at Wynne. Mrs. Mathews was born in McPherson, Ark., and had lived in Spearman since 1940. An artist and a homemaker, she worked with the March of Dimes in Spearman for several years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 721 in Spearman, past worthy matron, and the Hansford Hospital Auxiliary. She was a lifetime member and past president of Beta Sigma Phi. Price, 76, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 24, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with David Pool, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Price was born in Amarillo. During World War II, he served as a telegrapher in the Army Air Corps. While working with the Army Air Corps of Engineers, he helped build Amarillo Air Force Base. In 1950, he began working for Fred P. Brien and in 1963, he bought the business. He owned and operated Horace L. Price and Sons Electrical Contractors for 23 years. He was past president of the Amarillo chapter of the American Business Club and the National Electrical Contractors Association. He was a member of the Associated General Contractors of Texas and was on the board of directors for the Young Women's Christian Organization. He married E. Marie Light in 1942 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pat Barfield of Amarillo; three sons, Jimmy L. Price, Howard W. Price, and David W. Price, all of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 119 E. Cherry Ave., and suggests memorials be to the VA Medical Center; Amarillo Chapter of the American Business Club; or Crown of Texas Hospice. A former Amarillo resident, Ms. Douglas was born in Desloge, Mo. and had moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Fort Worth. After graduating from Barnes School of Nursing in anesthesia, she worked as nurse anesthetist. She served with the Army Nurse Corps and was a member of the Chapel of the South Fork in South Fork, Colo. Survivors include three nieces, Brenda K. DeForest of Dawsonville, Ga., Dinah L. Black of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sheila A. Schrum of Snellville, Ga.; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Jeri Gravestock of South Fork, Colo. Mr. Cole was born in Beaver County, where he was a lifetime resident. He was a farmer and a member of First Christian Church. He married Evelyn Delander in 1951. She died in 1968. He married Helen McPherson in 1969. Survivors include his wife; a son, Stanley Cole of Emmitt, Idaho; a daughter, Sheila Stickler of Emmitt; a stepson, Charley McPherson of Beaver; two stepdaughters, Florence Phillips of Skiatook, and Kathy Reed of Winnemucca, Nev.; a brother, Jimmie Cole of Beaver; 26 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Keyes United Methodist Church with Del Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Willowbar Cemetery with Odd Fellow rites and military honors. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Wiley was born in Cimarron County and attended Berg school, a oneroom school house. After graduating from Keyes High School in 1950, he served with the Navy during the Korean War and returned to Keyes. Before buying Keyes Cafe and Bakery, he farmed and raised cattle. He drove a school bus for 19 years and announced basketball games. In Keyes, he was a member of United Methodist Church, where he was a liturgist and a member of Methodist Men, Keyes Odd Fellows Lodge No. 72, American Legion, and the Square Dance Club. He married Corine James in 1958 at Keyes. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Darrell Wiley and James Dale Wiley, both of Keyes, and Danny Wiley of South Carolina; a daughter, Debbie Lynn Brown of Keyes; three sisters, Avis Strasner of Keyes, Betty Hook of Kiowa, Colo., and Hazel Hitchings of Griggs Community; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Craig was born in Texhoma. He was a longtime resident of Guymon, where he graduated with the class of 1945. He served with the Army during World War II. Before returning to Guymon in 1955, he lived in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Kansas while working for Michigan-Wisconsin. He was a partner at Longbotham Wholesale Inc., and was a member of Victory United Methodist Church. His son, Sam D. Craig, died in 1996. He married Billye Jeanne Vineyard in 1952. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Knudson of Oklahoma City; a sister, Wilma Fern Bohanan of Liberal, Kan.; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Cornelius Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dennis Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery at Sulphur Springs, Texas, by Swaim Funeral Home. Mrs. Birney was born in Houston and grew up in Hereford, Texas. She graduated from Hereford High School and attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. After graduating from Fort Hays State University in Hays, she taught school in Indiana and later sold insurance in Southwest Kansas. She was a member of St. Cornelius Episcopal Church in Dodge City. Survivors include a son, James Birney of Dodge City; her mother, Sybil Edwards of Dodge City; and a grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to St. Cornelius Episcopal Church. Amarillo Daily News March 27, 2000 Elsewhere Arnold W. Gilliland SHERMAN - Arnold W. "Gill" Gilliland, 83, died Friday, March 24, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Williams of North Richland Hills officiating and the Rev. Bob Allen of Garland assisting. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Gilliland was born in the Lockney area and attended school in South Plains. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and with the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service and worked in civil service at Perrin Air Force Base until it closed. After his retirement, he drove a bus for the Sherman Independent School District for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was an ordained deacon. He married Janice Williams in 1942 at Sherman. In 1999, they moved to Lakeland House Assisted Living Center in Athens. Survivors include his wife; a son, Woody F. Gilliland of Abilene; two daughters, Hallie Jean Ross of North Richland Hills, and Kay Webster of Athens; three sisters, Gladys Morris of Welch, Inez Spence of Marysville, Calif., and Ailene Dunn of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News March 27, 2000 Robert E. Anthony GRANBURY - Robert E. "Bob" Anthony, 93, died Saturday, March 25, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery at Fort Worth. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Granbury Church of Christ at Granbury. Arrangements are by Wiley Funeral Home. Mr. Anthony was born in Fulton, Miss., and moved to Covington with his family in 1916. He married Bessie Mae Moore of Perrin in 1931; and they moved to Amarillo, where they lived until 1951. From 1951 until 1964, he owned and operated Anthony Oil Co., the distributor of Phillips Petroleum products in the ClovisPortales, N.M., area. In 1964, he sold his business and returned to Amarillo, where he was active in real estate investments. In 1980, he and his wife moved to Granbury. She died in 1986. Survivors include a son, James E. Anthony of Fort Worth; a sister, Ruby Whitson of Roswell, N.M.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Virginia Tindle. The family suggests memorials be to Granbury Church of Christ Building Fund; or Fosters Home for Children in Stephenville. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
