Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Brad Foster officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Glen Dean, Ky., and moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Olton. She was a homemaker and a member of Meredith Harbor Baptist Church. She married Leonard Roger Reynolds in 1932 at Roswell, N.M. He died in 1997. Her son, Roger Reynolds, died in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Stoner of Grand Junction, Colo., and Saundra Elaine Skelton of Toronto, Canada; two sons, Verle Reynolds of Nashville, Tenn., and Gary Reynolds of Austin; two sisters, Maxine Needham of Graham and Sue Miller of Amarillo; a brother, Willis Jolly of El Paso; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 28, 2000 Vivian Ophelia Powell Vivian Ophelia Powell, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. George Haddox officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave. Mrs. Powell was born in Hollis, Okla. Before moving to Amarillo 40 years ago, she lived in Lubbock. She was a Methodist. She married John Powell in 1956 at Amarillo. He died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Charlotte Poole. Survivors include three sisters, Eva Robison and Billie Lou Fuller, both of Amarillo, and Fern Cranmore of Columbus, Neb. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 28, 2000 Margaret Wright Margaret "Peggy" Wright, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Chester Beavers, associate pastor of Southwest Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Wright was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved to Amarillo in 1998 from Lubbock. She was a homemaker and a member of Lubbockview Christian Church. She married Christopher Wright in 1937 at Alymer, Quebec, Canada. He died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Christopher David Wright of Amarillo; a sister, Hazel Grove of Pembrooke, Ontario, Canada; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at 8618 Wilshire and suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 28, 2000 New Mexico Beryl Louise Brown Goody CLOVIS, N.M. - Beryl Louise Brown Goody, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Texico Baptist Church at Texico with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Burial will be in El Cumino Cemetery at San Diego by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Goody was born in Clovis and attended Fairfield and Texico schools, where she graduated as valedictorian in 1946. After graduating with honors from Eastern New Mexico University in 1950, she taught high school and was a legal secretary. She served as a summer missionary and was the accompanist for the BSU Life Service Band of Eastern New Mexico University. She later taught Sunday school and worked in the church nursery. She married Gene Goody in 1956 at San Diego. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Goody of San Diego; a brother, Dee J. Brown of Texico; two sisters, Anita Weems of Las Cruces, and Joanne Scott of Morristown, N.J.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Blackwell was born in Milton, Pa., and had lived in Tucumcari for 22 years. She and her husband, Bill Z. Blackwell, owned the Trails West Bar. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; four sisters, Joan Velkoff, Ruth Ringler, Winnie Mitchell, and Barbara Bersette, all of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Donald Whitmire, Daniel Whitmire, and Harry Whitmire, all of Pennsylvania. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with the Rev. Scott Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Calvin Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards was born in Lexington and attended schools in the Chickasha, Lexington and Blanchard area. She had lived in Calvin since 1932 and was a member of the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church. She married John H. Edwards in 1932 at Chickasha. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Coy Edwards of Holdenville and Murel Edwards of Pampa, Texas; a daughter, Wanda Cloud of Pampa; a sister, Bonnie Carroll of Scottsville, Ky; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Main and Frame Funeral Home Blue River Chapel with the Rev. Thomas H. Current officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Mr. Wisehart was born in Henry County and retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 1972. He farmed in the Mooreland area. His wife, Ruth Louise West Wisehart, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Bobby Joe Acton and Willard Roy Acton Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Acton of Mooreland and Janet Ambs of Amarillo, Texas; a son, John E. Mrs. Schlem was born in Concord, Dixon County, Neb., and graduated from Witten High School in 1926. She attended Springfield Teacher's College at Springfield and taught in Tripp County. She moved to Witten from Carter in 1963. She was a member of the Carter Church, Carter Women's Club and Witten Women's Club. She married Aaron C. Schlem in 1940 at Valentine, Neb. Mrs. Johnson was born in Holt Community and had lived in Stinnett for 55 years. She taught math and science in the Stinnett area until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Stinnett Church of Christ. Her husband, Arthur D. "Art" Johnson, died in 1995. Survivors include a son, Larry Johnson Sr., of Noble, Okla.; six brothers, Daniel Sheets, Branch Sheets, S.B. Mrs. Whitaker was born in Swisher County and received a degree in nursing from Northwest Texas School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for schools in Potter County and retired in 1989. She married Less Whitaker Jr., in 1948. He died in 1971. Survivors include two sons, Less Whitaker III and Lewis Whitaker, both of Claude; two brothers, George Huber and Vincent Huber, both of Amarillo; a sister, Doris George of Hereford; and three grandchildren. Mr. Hamilton was born in Twitty and had lived in Moore County since 1947. He worked for American Zinc. He retired in 1993 from Continental Carbon as a shift supervisor. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He married Kathryn McCallie in 1950 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Greer of Amarillo; a son, Bill Hamilton of San Antonio; a brother, Tom Hamilton of Weatherford; two sisters, Wanda McCarty of Grove, Okla., and Nancy Vaughn of Fort Smith, Ark.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Slack was born in Vernon and moved to the area from Canyon 59 years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church and of Mary and Martha Sunday school class. Her daughter, Jerri Vee, died in 1945. She married Tom Slack in 1939 at Panhandle. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sydney Brints of Vernon and Shay Cronin of Rockwall; a son, Phil Slack of Perryton; a brother, Charles Wright of Canyon; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Norman was born in Nocona and was a partner with husband James M. Norman in radio and television retail sales and service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Memphis. She married James M. Norman in 1925 at Paducah. He died in 1970. Her son, James Frank Norman, died in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Ford of Memphis; a sister, Naima Johnson of Wichita Falls; a brother, Gordon Stone of Stanton; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
