Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Clinton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Thrasher was born in Turkey. He was a Navy Seabee and served at Guadalcanal during World War II. He was a transport truck driver for Panhandle Oil Co. and a bus driver for Valley schools. He married Bettie Gilbert in 1946 at Turkey. She died in June. Survivors include two sons, Calvin Thrasher of Aztec, N.M., and James Thrasher of Ralls; two daughters, Debbie Cagle of Flomot and Patty Kimbell of Estelline; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 28, 2000 Edith C. Haddick PLAINVIEW - Edith C. Haddick, 99, formerly of Plainview, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Denton. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Haddick was born in Marion, Va. She moved with her family to the Ellen community southeast of Plainview in 1903. She was a pioneer farm and ranch woman. In 1913 her father opened the Ellen Post Office, where she assisted with the mail. She married Clyde M. Haddick in 1918 and they farmed 51 years. He died in 1969. She continued to operate their farm until 1993. Mrs. Haddick was church pianist and taught piano in her home in the 1930s. She was an officer in the M & M Study Club, Woman's Home Demonstration Club, Happy Union Sewing Club and was active in First United Methodist Church. She lived in Denton at the time of her death. Survivors include two daughters, Edith C. Eggleston of Keller and Frances Laganiere of Wheatland, Wyo.; a son, Clyde M. Haddick Jr. of Friendswood; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 28, 2000 Nellie Mae Brown PAMPA - Nellie Mae Brown, 90, formerly of Pampa, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in San Antonio. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with John Massie, minister of Alamo City Church of Christ in San Antonio, officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Brown was born in Siboney, Okla. She moved to Pampa in 1953, to Midland in 1975, and to San Antonio in 1981. She was a child care provider in Pampa and Midland. She was a former member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa and a member of the McArthur Park Church of Christ in San Antonio. She married Norman Brown in 1926 at Heston, Okla. He died in 1971. She also was preceded in death by six children. She was a retired cashier for Sprouse Reitz Variety Store, working 10 years in Santa Rosa, N.M. and 10 years in Borger. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Douglas, in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Walter Douglas of Aurora, Colo., and James L. He married Epifanic Hernandez in 1951 at McCamey. She died in 1996. Mr. Trowbridge was an Army veteran of World War II. After being discharged he moved to Hereford and worked for the Hereford Ice Co. for many years. He was a member of the Hereford American Legion. He was preceded in death by a son, Alvino Rodriguez Jr., in 1991. She worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System. She moved to Amarillo from Dallas in 1978. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and the American Nursing Association. She later worked for Turner's Department Store. She returned to Clovis from Lubbock in 1993. She was a member of West 21st Street Church of Christ. She married Leslie E. Morris in 1949 at Amherst, Texas. He died in 1986. She married Charles Winston Smith in 1987 at Clovis. He died in 1993. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Shaw was born in Conception, Mo. She moved to the McAlister community in 1922 and to Tucumcari in 1938. She was a dietitian at the day care center of First Baptist Church and assisted in operating a service station on Tucumcari Boulevard. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Sam Shaw in 1938. He died in 1988. Survivors include a son, Wayne Shaw of Tucumcari; a daughter, Barbara Shaw of Tucumcari; and a sister, Irene Blanton of Dimmitt, Texas. Moffitt GLENDALE, Ariz. - Jerry K. Moffitt, 61, formerly of Borger, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000. Services were Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000 in The Church at Arrowhead in Glendale. Burial was in National Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix by Heritage Funeral Directors of Peoria. Mr. Moffitt was born in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Borger High School and earned his associate's degree in engineering at Frank Phillips College in Borger. He earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. He was a radio telecommunications specialist in the Special Task Force Unit of the military from 1960 to 1962. He worked in the transportation industry, including the railroad and LTL trucking companies. He was last working at Roadway Express. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Kyle Moffitt, in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Monica Moffitt; two sons, Jerry Keith Moffitt of Plano, Texas and Kirk Moffitt of Dallas; four brothers, Tommy Moffitt of Denton, Texas, George Moffitt and Herschel Moffitt, both of Borger and Paul Moffitt of Lubbock; and one granddaughter. Mrs. Bohannon was born in Fannin County and graduated from Bonham High School. She moved to Lubbock from Weatherford in 1976. She was a homemaker and active in the ministry with her husband for 46 years including 24 years at Quaker Avenue Church of God. She served four years in the Ladies Ministries executive board for the Church of God State of Texas. She was a member of the Church of God in Lubbock. She married Bobby Eugene Bohannon in 1954 at Bonham. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Janice Floyd and Linda Oakley, both of Lubbock and Anne Compton of Bloomburg; two sons, Steve Bohannon of Lubbock and Danny Bohannon of Iowa Park; two brothers, Clinton Northcutt of Formosa, Ark., and Berton Northcutt of Bonham; a sister, Linda Naylor of Bonham; 11 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Mr. Lust was born in Dimmitt and had lived in Littlefield since 1954. He was a civil engineer for the Texas Highway Department. He was a member of Littlefield Masonic Lodge. He taught Sunday school classes for over 45 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Louise Tyler in 1960 at Littlefield. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff Lust of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Marilyn Vann of Spade, Barbara Petty of Canyon and Linda Runyan of Canyon Lake; two sisters, Mildred Bradford of Dimmitt and Earline Settle of Old Hickory, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
