Bacon FARNSWORTH - Raymond A. Bacon, 78, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Mennonite Church at Perryton with the Rev. Darwin Hartman officiating. Cremation and other arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Bacon was born in Elsmore, Kan. He moved to the Perryton area 25 years ago from New Plymouth, Idaho. He had been a teacher, had worked as a clerk for Union Pacific Railroad and owned a construction business that designed and built feed yards. He was a member of Perryton Mennonite Church and the Masonic Lodge in Kansas, receiving his 50-year award in 1998. Mr. Bacon was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Terry, in 1990. He married Lorraine Smith in 1995 in Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rebecca Martin of Fayetteville, Ark.; and two sisters, Carla Harvey of Orofino, Idaho, and Nina Drees of Nampa, Idaho. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plainview Memorial Park with the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood was born in Glendale, Calif. She graduated from high school in Glendale and moved to Plainview. She was a homemaker and had been a floral designer. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Pink Ladies Auxiliary, Plainview Country Club and the Elks Lodge Auxiliary. She married Robert Blake Wood in 1951 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Bridget Wood Kiser of Plainview; a son, Bryan Wood of Plainview; and three grandchildren. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Muleshoe Memorial Park at Muleshoe by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Fudge was born in Lampasas County and moved to Bailey County in 1948. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1954 and attended a seed technology course at Mississippi State University. He had worked for King Brothers Seed Co. in Muleshoe. In 1961, he moved to Tulia and worked as assistant manager for Taylor-Evans Seed Co., and later for Kan-Tex Seed Co. Mr. Fudge served in the Texas National Guard at Plainview, 36th Infantry Division. He also served as Master Sargeant and Instructor in the New Mexico National Guard at Clovis, N.M. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Muleshoe. He married Barbara Ann Byrd in 1959 at Bailey County. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rick Fudge of Tulia; two daughters, LaMonda Fudge of Amarillo and Rebecca Patton of Silverton; a brother, Bobby R. Fudge of Kempner; and five grandchildren. Don Boren, of Friona. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Albany Cemetery at Albany by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Tatum was born in Shackelford County. She moved to Parmer County in 1950, from Albany. She was a member of the Friona Rebekah Lodge, the Black Study Club and the First Baptist Church. She married Ellis Tatum in 1936 at Albany. He died in 1985. Mrs. Edwards was born in Coyle, Okla., and had been a Borger resident since 1942. She was a retired dorm mother at Frank Phillips College, and a member of the University Heights Christian Church. She was a member of the Paragon Club, the Republican Women's Club, and Girl Scouts of America. She married Ira Lee Edwards in 1930 at Guthrie, Okla. He died in 1965. Survivors include five daughters, Betty Picquet and Mandy Pons, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara Bybee of Amarillo, Nita Jo Wilson of Dalhart and Jennifer Miesse of Anchorage, Alaska; 23 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. He died in 1973. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Wingert, in 1987. She married George C. Warner in 1977 at Hereford. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Lackey was born in Brad. Active in track and field, she attended schools in Brad and Dallas. She was a food service manager for Buena Vista schools in the Borger Independent School District. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Sanborn Baptist Church. She married P.C. Lackey in 1929 at Glen Rose. He died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, Emil, and a daughter, Margaret Jo Flippo. Services were at 5 p.m. Saturday in Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Hinds officiating. Cremation will be at a later date by the funeral home. Mr. Stark was born in Petersburg, Texas. He lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, from 1933 to 1950, when he joined the Armored Tank Division to serve during the Korean War. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1968, where he was an operator for Atlantic Richfield. He retired in 1987 and moved to Ava and then to the Nixa area in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion. He married Jeane Stark in 1968 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Mykie Hill of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Bailey County Cemetery at Muleshoe, Texas, with Curtis Shelburne of the 16th Avenue D Church of Christ at Muleshoe, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Harris was born in Lycan, Colo., and graduated from Muleshoe High School. He farmed in Muleshoe until moving in 1941 to Grayville, Ill., where he began working in the oil business. In 1952, he moved to Casper, where he owned and operated the Rocky Mountain Trucking Co. He was on the board of directors of the Wyoming Trucking Association and served as president from 1965 until 1967. In 1979, he was elected Honorary Director for Life. In 1978, he returned to Grayville and managed Harris Drilling Co. After retiring in 1995, he returned to Casper. He married Leona Loe in 1939. She died in April. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Gentzler and Brenda Van Tuyl, both of Sheridan; three sisters, Fay Alderson of Baker City, Ore., Opal Harris of Lubbock, Texas, and Maxine Harris of Muleshoe; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Mr. Sanders was born in Racine, Mo., and moved to Amarillo in 1950 from Delhi, Okla. He was a Baptist and worked as a customer service representative in the restaurant equipment business. Mr. Watts was born in Alpine. He moved to Amarillo after serving with the Army in Company F, 47 Infantry Division, during World War II. He received three bronze stars. He worked as head of maintenance at the Temple B'Bai Israel. He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church, the GI Forum, and the American Legion Post No. 54 in Amarillo. His son, Freddy Watts, died in 1998. His daughter, Gloria Eugenia Watts, died in 1999. He married Gloria Tarin in 1946 at Alpine. She married Wallace Pierce in 1971 at Lovington. He died in 1995.
