Mrs. Weaver was born in Forest City, Mo. She moved to Amarillo in 1961 from Enid, Okla. She was an office manager for an automotive glass business. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Weaver. Survivors include three daughters, Connie Fleeman of Modesto, Calif., and Rene West and Stachia Hogan, both of Amarillo; a son, Barry Weaver of Amarillo; four sisters, Ethel Kerns of Craig, Mo., Vivian Harris of Lenexa, Kan., Nadine Hurst of St. Joseph, Mo., and Ann Fields of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Alan Schaeffer of Oregon, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3808 N.E. 10th St. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Norman Tex Ketzel Norman Tex Ketzel, 74, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Richard Higley, associate pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church, officiating. Military rites will be rendered by Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Ketzel was born in New Castle, Pa. He was a Boy Scout, receiving the Order of the Arrow at age 15. He served as a Scout leader. During World War II he served in the Navy. He moved to Amarillo in 1946. He worked as an equipment installer for 40 years at Western Electric. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He married Virginia Baird in 1948 at Lovington, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Silva and Sandy Barnes, both of Amarillo and Annita Quiggle of Albuquerque, N.M.; one son, Gary Ketzel of Pampa; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will be at 509 W. 44th Ave. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Thomas J. Lawrence Thomas J. Lawrence, 71, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev. Stan Coffey officiating. Arrangements are by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Mr. Lawrence had lived in Amarillo since 1968. He retired from the Army. He served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amarillo Gun Club. He married Laura Bewley in 1969. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosie Canales; and a son, Thomas J. Lawrence II. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Becky Vargas of Plainview, Bessie Andrews, Tammy J. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Golden Plains Church of Christ with Paul Camp officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Odessa with Burt Groves of Eisenhower Church of Christ of Odessa officiating. Mr. Mainous was born in Perkins, Okla. He graduated in 1934 from Barnsdall High School in Barnsdall, Okla. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He received two Bronze Stars and other awards. He was a drilling superintendent in the oil industry. He was a Mason and a member of the Golden Plains Church of Christ. He moved to Amarillo three years ago. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Joslin, in 1965. He married Alice Jett Kutin in 1969 at Odessa. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Chris Kutin of Amarillo and Alex Kutin of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Erwin was born in Clovis and was a longtime resident. She graduated from Clovis High School and moved away, returning in 1972. She was a cashier in retail sales. She was a Methodist and an artist. She lived in Montana and returned to Texico in 1984. She was a clerk for Texico Truck Stop. She married Daniel Morrow in 1967 at Texico. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dan Morrow and Dusty Morrow, both of Farwell, Texas; one daughter, Ruth Price of Des Moines, Iowa; four brothers, Leon White of Yuma, Ariz., Glenn White of Farwell, Jimmy White of Seguin, Texas and Gary White of Scottsdale, Texas; a sister, Melba Hampton of Texico; and eight grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Florence Olive Cockrell CLOVIS, N.M. - Florence Olive (Price) Cockrell, 105, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church at Melrose with the Rev. Craig Cockrell and the Rev. Jim Hogue officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Cockrell was born near Elsmore, Kan. She attended school at Moline and graduated from Elsmore High School in 1915. She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Alva, Okla. In 1915 she moved to Buffalo, Okla., where she taught in a one-room school. She also taught at Harper and Beaver counties of Oklahoma and at Cimarron, Kan. She assisted doctors in nursing during a flu epidemic from 1918-1919 and was a midwife in Oklahoma and New Mexico. She lived on a farm near May, Okla. until 1932, when she moved to the Field community northeast of Melrose. In 1939 she moved to the Perry community in New Mexico and then to Melrose in 1963. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and attended the First United Methodist Church in Melrose. She moved to Clovis 11 years ago and had lived in Farwell the past six years. She married Claude Cockrell in 1923 at Woodward, Okla. He died in 1968. She also was preceded in death by a son, Clifford. Survivors include a daughter, Reeta Brummer of Clovis; three sons, Lloyd Cockrell of Turlock, Calif., Sherman Cockrell of Prince George, Va., and Wilbur Cockrell of Clovis; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be to Hart Boys Ranch in Melrose; First United Methodist Church of Melrose; the Order of the Eastern Star at Melrose; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Elsewhere Clenda J. Morehouse CHINOOK, Mont. - Clenda J. Morehouse, 71, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Morehouse was born in Amarillo. She was raised in Silverton, Texas. She lived in Hinsdale before moving to Havre, where she worked as a switch board operator for Mountain Bell. She worked several years at Hill County Extension office and later moved to Noxon, where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. In 1991 she returned to Silverton and then moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. in 1993, where she worked at the post office and was an active volunteer at the hospital. Mrs. Morehouse moved to Chinook in 1997 and was working for L&L Pizza. She married Kenneth Morehouse in 1947 at Tulia. He died in 1993. She also was preceded in death by a son, David Ralph Morehouse, in 1965. Survivors include two sons, John Morehouse of St. Petersburg and Frank Morehouse of Erhard, Minn.; a daughter, Janet Olson of Chinook; and five grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Alvin Ray Swanson ANTON - Alvin Ray Swanson, 55, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, in Lubbock. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Anton High School Auditorium with the Rev. Vance Roberts and the Rev. Bruce Parks of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in the Anton Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Mr. Swanson was born in Phoenix. He was a longtime resident of Anton and a farmer. He served on the Anton City Council from 1977-80 and was a Lamb County Electric Co-op Board member since 1983. He had served as manager of the Anton Producers Co-op and had been a board member of the Spade Co-op since 1979. He was active in local livestock events. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served on the board of trustees and was an usher. He married Jeanette Buchanan in 1966 at Anton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kyle Swanson of Lubbock and Monte Swanson of Anton; a brother, Paul Swanson of Tulia; and three granddaughters. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. McLean was born in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School. He attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of Top O'Texas Masonic Lodge No. 1381 AF&AM, the Moose Lodge and Operating Engineers Local No. 953. He moved to White Deer three years ago. Survivors include two daughters, Jael McLean of Fritch and Jamie McLean of Panhandle; a son, Marcus McLean of Panhandle; his mother, Beulah McLean of Pampa; and his companion, Carol Jean Kotara of Pampa. Mr. McDearmon was born in Childress County. He was a dairy farmer. Ted Taylor officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Jimerson was born in Ridgely, Tenn. He was a homicide investigator for the Panama City Police Department in Florida for 19 years. In 1995 he moved to Hereford, where he worked as an investigator for the Deaf Smith County Attorney's office. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Panama City and the Church of the Nazarene at Hereford. He married Edna Harris in 1981 at Panama City. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Survivors include his wife; six sons; three daughters; a brother; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Spurlock was born in Wichita Falls and had lived in Sunray since 1963. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She married W.A. Spurlock at Wichita Falls in 1963. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Julia Sutterfield of Amarillo; one son, Jay Spurlock of Sunray; her mother, Berneice Burnham of Charlie; two sisters, Betty Field of Madisonville and Barbara Mayo of Petrolia; and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bill Roy officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Haigood was born in Hesston, Kan. She earned her bachelor's degree from Fort Hayes State University in Kansas, and then taught school in Russell, Kan. for seven years. She had lived in Pampa for the past 40 years where she was a relief shelter worker for the Tralee Crisis Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Alva V. Haigood in 1961 at Russell. He died in 1984. Survivors include one son, Tim Haigood of Amarillo; one brother, Earl Zook of Durango, Colo.; and three sisters, Marlene Mohl of Billings, Mont., Thelma Brooks of Pittsburgh and Elsie Rein of Russell. Amarillo Daily News, Aug. 30, 2000 Dorothy Perry TEXLINE - Dorothy "Dot" Perry, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, in El Paso. Services will be at 10 a.m. CDT Thursday in Texline United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Bailey, pastor, and Billy Rammage, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mrs. Perry was born in Clayton. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1929 and attended Highland University in Las Vegas, N.M. She taught school on the Dry Cimarron near Kenton, Okla., before moving to Texline, where she was a longtime resident. She was a member of Texline United Methodist Church. She worked as an election judge. She married Larry D. Kehoe in 1934. He died in 1953. She later married Herbert G. Perry. He died in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Pat Kehoe of Chaparral, N.M., and Mac Kehoe of Texline; a sister, Doris Williams of Dalhart; three grandsons; and two greatgranddaughters.
