Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Harold Smith Auditorium at Baptist St. Anthony's Health System West Campus with the Rev. Jim Fox of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Mr. Braughton was born in Altus, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for 35 years. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. after 29 years. He was a past commander of the Amarillo Civil Defense. He was active in Kids, Inc. and coached football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of the Lions Club in Howardwick and Hillcrest Baptist Church. He married Glenda Wright in 1959 at Altus. He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Braughton Jr., in 1994. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale Braughton of Amarillo; a daughter, Shannon Braughton of Amarillo; two sisters, Minnie Harrold of Rifle, Colo., and Sylvia Daniels of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Eddy Braughton of Peoria, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society district office, 3915 S. Bell, Amarillo, TX 79109; or the American Heart Association regional office, 2404 W. Georgia St. Mr. Lowe was born in Dallas. He attended River Road schools and graduated from Caprock High School. He attended Amarillo College and was a pilot for Southwest Airlines. Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Lowe and Annalee Julia Lowe; his parents, Horace Neal Lowe and Helen Elizabeth Lowe, both of Amarillo; and a sister, Lisa Reid of Santa Fe, N.M. Arrangements are by Maxey Funeral Home of Paris. Mr. Rogers was born in Texarkana. He attended school in Wellington. During World War II, he served in the Army. H married Christine Raven. He retired from Asarco in the late 1970s and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he worked for the state. Later, he moved to Dallas and joined the New Caleb Missionary Baptist Church. He earned a degree in business administration at Eastern New Mexico University. He was a member of West 21st Street Church of Christ, where he helped with the benevolence group and drove the church bus. He married Sharon D. Stark in 1969. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne of Amarillo and Ray of Denver; two daughters, Jayne of Pampa and Nancy of Abernathy; his mother, Helen Craig of Clovis; and three brothers, Richard of Carlsbad, Nolan of Albuquerque and Ted of Chicago; and four grandchildren. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Paducah by Hammons Funeral Home. Mrs. Fields was born in Van Zandt County. She moved to Littlefield in 1943 from Paducah. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She married Brady Young Fields in 1923 at Paducah. He died in 1967. She also was preceded in death by four sons, Dale Fields in 1967, Louis Fields in 1988, Milam Fields in 1995 and Dewey Joe Fields in 1997. Survivors include a son, Waylon Fields of Plainview; a daughter, Joyce Ray Dewees of Littlefield; a sister, Earlee Pinkerton of Amarillo; a brother, Alvis Townley of Paducah; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 greatgreat-grandchildren. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery at Springlake by Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Mrs. Roberson was born in Hillsboro and had lived in Lamb County since 1936. She was a teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of Rockyford Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union at the church. She also taught Sunday school. She married Herbert Roberson in 1930 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1969. She also was preceded in death by a son, Harold Roberson, in 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Ola Mae Brown and Mary Jo Griffin, both of Amarillo, and Dora Bass of Amherst; a brother, Wilburn England of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were Monday, June 12, 2000 in Rose Hills Cemetery at Whittier, Calif. Arrangements were by Rose Hills Mortuary of Whittier. Mrs. Arroyo was born in Mexico and raised in Amarillo. In 1957, she moved to San Francisco. She was retired from Walgreens. She was a Catholic. She was preceded in death by a son, Jose Ramon Arevalo, in 1968. Survivors include three daughters, Marion Salazar of Victorville, Lisa Sandoval of Amarillo and Maria Ellen Burns of Burbank; five brothers, Ted Preciado of Claremont, Telesforo Preciado, Jesus Preciado and Rudy "Fito" Preciado, all of Amarillo and Gilbert Preciado of Diamond Bar; two sisters, Maria Bargas of Carson and Juanita Rosas of Pekin, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He graduated from Whitharral High School and attended Texas Tech University before joining the military in 1943. He moved to Dalhart in 1970 from Morton. He farmed around Hartley and Clayton, N.M. He served on the board of the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District I from 1964 to 1970. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Newsom married Lillie Horton in 1946 at Whitharral. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Newsom of Dalhart and Joe Newsom of Allen; a sister, Joyce Robnett of Lubbock; a brother, Ray Newsom of Waco; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Victory Center at Guymon, Okla., with Charles Mendenhall of Victory Center officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd., in Amarillo. Mr. Braman was born in Denver. He earned his private pilot's license with a commercial rating at age 16. He had been active in the Civil Air Patrol and AOPA; served in the Air Force; and flew planes and helicopters for agriculture purposes. He also had served as an air traffic controller in Albuquerque, N.M., Colorado Springs, Colo., Denver and at other airports in the western United States and Alaska. He helped organize the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. He was a member of the Gospel band "Prophecy." Survivors include two daughters, Kristina Braman and Amy Braman, both of Bushland; three sons, Don Braman IV, Jaysen Braman and Jamie Braman, all of Bushland; his father and stepmother, Donald and Janice Braman Jr. of Albuquerque; and two brothers, Andy Braman and Jim Braman, both of Albuquerque. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Spence was born in DeQueen, Ark. He had lived in Skellytown since 1950, moving from Pampa. During World War II, he served with the Army. He was foreman at Cabot Corp., retiring in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and had served as deacon since 1954. He was the music director at the church. He married Gladys Freeman in 1939 at Marietta, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rita West of Amarillo; a son, John Spence of Skellytown; two sisters, Marine Jacobs of Marietta and Faye Lewis of Yuma, Ariz.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Neel was born in Cherokee County, Okla. He married Athelea Teston in 1935 at Ralls. In 1955, he retired from farming and they moved to Parmer County from Bula. They operated the Neel Grocery Store in Hub from 1957 to 1969. His wife died in 1993. He was a member of the 6th Street Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Fairchild of Adrian and Kay Neel of Friona; three sons, DeWayne Neel of Conifer, Colo., Gerald Neel of Lakewood, Colo., and Dale Neel of Broomfield, Colo.; a sister, Lola Latimer of Midwest City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
