Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Quisenberry officiating. Arrangements were by Lamb Funeral Home. Mrs. Seymour was a retired certified nurse's aide. She was a longtime resident of McLean. Survivors include six sisters, Mary Auldridge of Amarillo, Betty Taul of Baldwin, Kan., and Helen Beam, Jo Lynn Ginter, Donna Roberts and Jackie Ables, all of Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Raymond Larson of Hartford, Kan., and Gary Hunter of Topeka. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Monty Pierce, minister, and Stephen Lowrie, minister, both of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Lathem was born April 28, 1952, to Ed and Ruth Brown Lathem. Bill was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1970. He attended Texas A&M University. Bill was a farmer and rancher and was an active member of the Hartley County Farm Bureau. He attended First Baptist Church. He enjoyed volunteering during the XIT Rodeo and Reunion each year. Survivors include his father, Ed Lathem of Dalhart; a brother, Chester Lathem of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Pam Lathem of Pearland and Pat Lathem of Springhill, Tenn.; and two nephews, Russell Lathem of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Doug Lathem of Dalhart. Aaron Reed officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mrs. Henderson attended school at Hart. She was a farmer. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 1, 2001 Amarillo James Thomas Phillips James Thomas Phillips, 31, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 29, 2001. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 North Maddox in Dumas. Private family burial will be in Channing Cemetery at Channing. Mr. Phillips was born in Amarillo and was raised in Dumas. He was self-employed in the cable construction business. He was a certified scuba diving instructor, a spelunker, rock climber, avid snow and water skier and enjoyed motorcycle riding. He also was active in the Cowboy Action Shooting, the Canadian River Regulators of Amarillo and the Tierra Blanca Rangers of Hereford. He married Kassidy Morgan on April 7, 2000. She preceded him in death April 6, 2001. Survivors include his parents, Linda and Bob Phillips of Dumas; a brother, Larry Carl Phillips of Crane; and a sister, Barbara Wilkins of Dumas. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Thornton was born in Bennington, Okla., and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1936. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She married Oda Thornton on April 2, 1923, in Childress. He preceded her in death in 1961. Survivors include a son, Melvin Thornton of Amarillo; three daughters, Dorothy Wilson, Betty McEntire and Martha Roberts, all of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; 23 grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; six nieces; and three nephews. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Maria Socorro Rios, pastor of Templo Belen Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park of Big Spring. Mrs. Moreno was born Feb. 20, 1925, at Charlotte. She lived most of her life in Big Spring, until moving to Amarillo 18 years ago. Survivors include three sons, Adolf Moreno of Midland, Alex Moreno of Odessa and Larry Moreno of Big Spring; four daughters, Janie Malena and MaryAnn Levario, both of Amarillo, Ninfa Garcia of Big Spring and Alice Robles of Odessa; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. O'Quin was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Anthony, Kan., and graduated from Kingman Kansas High School. She attended nursing school at Kingle and Pearson Perryton Hospital. Pat got her licensed vocational nurse license when she was 18. She married Arthur L. "Art" O'Quin on June 8, 1947, at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Peggy Ables of Dallas, Brenda Boyd of Portland, Ore., and Molly Avilla of Amarillo; a son, Tommy O'Quin of Amarillo; a sister, Genevieve O'Quin of Perryton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marty Hamrick officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Goforth was born Feb. 19, 1902, in Throckmorton. She is the last survivor of nine siblings born to William P. and Maggie Davis. Mrs. Goforth attended West Texas Normal College in Canyon and received her teacher certificate. She later taught in Childress. She married Earl R. Goforth in Wellington on March 23, 1921. They moved to Amarillo in 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; and by two sons, Elmer and Richard. She was a Gold Star Mother and a Daughter of the American Revolution. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church for 67 years where she was an early member of the Vaughn-Selby Sunday School class and was active in Women's Circle groups. Survivors include a son, Don Goforth of Amarillo; two grandsons, Lance of Amarillo and Dan Neil of Redding, Calif.; a granddaughter, Susan of Redding; and three great-grandchildren. Officiants are Bernard Gowens, elder, Vernon Venable, elder, and George Johnson, elder of the Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery at Portales. Mr. Vandiver was a farmer and also worked many years in the copper mines in Ajo, Ariz., and in Tyrone, where he retired. After retiring, he moved to Clovis in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Vandiver of Clovis; a son, Earl Vandiver of Clovis; two daughters, Patsy Short of Truth or Consequences and Shirley Chandler of Silver City; two sisters, Naomi Black of Clovis and Janelle Pershall of Kingman, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
