Mr. Jarrel was the owner and operator of Memphis Auto Salvage and Wrecker Service. He was a member of the Memphis Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Heckathorn was born April 9, 1923, in High Point, son of the late Bill and Caree (Black) Heckathorn. He was a graduate of High Point High School. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving as a crew chief and was last of the Lucky 13. He and Dena Faye Mills were married April 4, 1947, in Childress. He was a retired truck driver for Georgia Pacific and member of the Goodlett Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 15, 2001. Mr. Northam was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Chillicothe, son of the late Benny and Bessie (Ford) Northam. He and Mildred Hughes were married Oct. 15, 1940, in San Angelo. He was a lifetime resident of Hardeman County and a member of North Groesbeck Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 25, 1999. She was raised in the Dalhart area and on July 8, 1967, she married Donald Lee Snyder at Boys Ranch. She was a bookkeeper for Farmers Supply and Dalhart Consumers. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartley. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Charles; her parents; two brothers, Raymond Thompson and Jack Thompson; a sister, Bernice Renegar; and a granddaughter, Katie Webb. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rumbaugh was born Nov. 10, 1953, to Louise King and the late J.C. Wyatt. She married Ronnie Lee Rumbaugh on Aug. 11, 1972, in Levelland. She attended school in Dumas, Shamrock and Canadian, receiving the Abraham Cup when she graduated from junior high in 1968. After achieving an R.N. degree from Methodist School of Nursing in 1979, she worked in Lubbock, Arlington and Canadian. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Lubbock from 1985 to 1996. She was working at the Abraham Memorial Home in Canadian at the time of her illness in June 2000, eventually taking a leave of absence in March 2001. She loved her work with the residents and staff and was looking forward to being with them again. God had other plans for her. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Dietz in 1999 and Sue Phelan in 2000. Mr. Walker was born June 1, 1914, to William Comador Walker and Ida May (King) in the Taft Community north of Fort Sumner. He was a licensed master plumber who had many loyal customers. Jim Shelburne of Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Putnam Funeral Home. Mr. Brasher was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Haskell to Coy and Jesse (Adams) Brasher. He graduated at the top of his class from Sul Ross College in 1969. He proudly served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marine. He married Ann Taylor on Aug. 6, 1946, in San Angelo. After teaching school for nine years in Pecos, he resumed his career with Texaco and retired with 30 years of service. He was an avid reader and loved all water sports. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lee Brasher in 1991; and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Ann; a daughter-in-law, Donna Brasher of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Courtney Brasher of Amarillo; two aunts, Gene Reaves and Marie Grace, both of Austin; and numerous cousins. Mr. Minson was born in his family farmhouse outside of Vinita, Okla., on Sept. 15, 1930, to parents Albert and Bessie Hazel Minson. His sister Rosemary was two years older. Raised during the depression, he learned how to work and make use of what he had. He helped his father farm and milk dairy cows. Like his father, he became a beekeeper and enjoyed grafting trees. From his mother, he developed a love for gardening vegetables and flowers. After graduating from high school in Strang, Okla., in 1948, he obtained a degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1952. He taught high school for one year before serving in the Army. He worked in the computer industry for many years before becoming an insurance agent and financial planner, the profession which he felt was his true calling. He enjoyed serving his clients and formed close friendships with many of them. In particular, he delighted in showing young people how to save and invest to achieve financial security. Although not a native Texan, he knew that he wanted to remain here when he first moved to the Panhandle. He enjoyed the climate and the people. With his first wife, Maxine Peacher, he had two sons, Matthew and Scott Minson. In 1977, he met and married Jan Lamb, a widow with two children, Randall and Laurie Lamb. A Christian, he faced death with the assurance that he had eternal life through Jesus Christ. He taught Sunday school to high school students and adults and always found his faith to be the most important part of his life. He believed that studying the Bible and prayer helped him each day to be a better person than he would have been otherwise. He was a member of the Fishermen's class at Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Jan; three sons, Matthew Minson of Houston, Scott Minson of Leander and Randall Lamb of Amarillo; a daughter, Laurie Lamb Martin and husband, Todd, of Dallas; a sister, Rosemary Johnston of Vinita; and a grandson, Luke Foster Martin of Dallas.
