Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church at Happy with the Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor of Tulia Christian Fellowship Church, Joe Mondragon, athletic director of Clarendon Junior College and Byron Williams, director of Hidden Falls Youth Camp, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Givens was born July 11, 1981, in Muleshoe. He was raised in Olton and graduated from Olton High School in 2000. He played basketball, football, track and golf at Olton High School. He achieved numerous awards. Mr. Givens worked at Hidden Falls as a Christian counselor. He was attending Clarendon Junior College, where he was a member of the basketball team. He attended Clarendon First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his parents, Tim and Cindy Givens of Happy; a sister and brother-in-law, Valerie and Tullie Struve of Olton; a brother, Jeremy Givens of Happy; grandparents, Enid and Delmer Givens of Olton and Mary and Bob Taylor of Ramah, N.M.; and a great-grandmother, Essie Baker of Portales, N.M. Mr. Gregory, an Army veteran of World War II, served in the Pacific Theater with Company E of the 307th Infantry Regiment in the 77th Infantry Division. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. McHone was born and raised in Shattuck, Okla. He was a longtime resident of the Amarillo area. He worked for Santa Fe Railway many years, beginning as a fireman and retiring as a brakeman in 1991. He married Nina Sue Pierce in 1957 at Amarillo. She passed away in 1997. Survivors include four sons, Allan McHone of Amarillo, Shelby Ray McHone of Canyon, Ronnie McHone of Sheridan, Ark., and Neal Robin McHone of Denton; three daughters, Ella Gibbs of Canyon, Anette Reed of Borger and Darla Keeney of Fritch; two sisters, Virginia Plowe of Pettibone, N.D., and Anna Bell Hioucha of Beardsley, Minn.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He retired from the Army after 24 years of service. Beck LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Thomas W. Beck, 77, died Thursday, March 29, 2001. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. today in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are by Baca's Funeral Chapels. Mr. Beck was born May 16, 1923, in Bryson, Texas, to Lawrence O. and Grace Rankin Beck. He served his country honorably in the Army Air Corps during World War II and continued his military career in the Air Force Reserve, retiring in 1983. He retired from Diamond Shamrock as a department manager. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia G. Beck of the family home; a daughter, Sandra A. Asher of Houston; three stepsons, Stephen, Mark and David Everitt, all of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Melkus was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Farry, to the late John Frederick and Mabel Lorinda (Culver) Melkus. He and his wife, Laura May Reed Melkus, actively engaged in farming for 65 years. Survivors include three sons, Keith Melkus of Newton, Kan., Francis Melkus of Amarillo and Lowell Melkus of Freedom; seven grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.
