Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Royce Jennings, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in East Mound Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. A Matador native and lifetime resident, Mr. Marshall served with the Army and was stationed in Okinawa during World War II. He operated an automobile salvage business and served as Fire Chief of the Matador Volunteer Fire Department. From 1976 until 1992, he served as Motley County Sheriff. Mr. Marshall was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, I.O.O.F. Lodge and First Baptist Church. He married Phyllis Lee in 1945 at McCook, Neb. Survivors include his wife; a son, Darrel Alton Marshall of Wheeler; three daughters, Teresa Locke of Pampa, Cindy Johannes of Matador and Eva Joyce Marshall of Lubbock; a brother, Albert Marshall of Paducah; a sister, Frances Mitchell of Matador; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Molder was born in Groom, raised in Dumas, and moved to Clarendon in 1973. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had worked as a clerk at Clarendon businesses. Survivors include a brother, John Molder of Clarendon; two sisters, Cheryl Miller of Memphis and Billie Millsap of Chillicothe; and grandparents, Grady and Pauline Jones of Clarendon. Mr. Garcia was born in Eden and moved to Muleshoe in 1952 from Mathis. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, he served with the Marines, the Army and the Naval Reserve during World War II and later worked as a self-employed welder. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8570 and the Chicano Unidos Campasinos. His son, Miguel F. Garcia Jr., preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Irene C. Garcia; a son, David Garcia of Fort Worth; three daughters, Maria E. Mr. Nuncio was born in Plainview and was a longtime resident of Lockney, where he attended schools. A member of San Jose Catholic Church, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He married Mary Ann Pedroza. Mr. Smith was born in Antlers, Okla., and had lived in Raton, N.M., before moving to Childress in 1988. A veteran of the Normandy Invasion during World War II and recipient of a Purple Heart, he worked as a rancher and owned and operated a dry cleaners before his retirement. He was a member of the B.P.O.E., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Elizabeth Purcell. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Vivian Hanni of Sayre, Okla., and Wanda J. A Catholic, he worked as a groundskeeper at Tascosa Country Club. He married Maria Gomez in 1972 at Lubbock. She died in 1997. Mr. Sherwood was born in Cement, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Hollis, Okla., before moving to Amarillo in 1995. A member of First Baptist Church in Hollis, he worked for Hollis Cotton Oil Mill until his retirement. He married Mildred Pauline Doughten in 1931. She died in 1999. Survivors include a son, William W. "Bill" Sherwood of Amarillo; two sisters, Maudie Belle Petit of Neosho, Mo., and Angeline Helms of Phoenix City, Ala.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Brown was born in Caddo, Okla., and graduated from high school in Utica, Okla. A member of South Lawn Baptist Church and Ruth Sunday School Class, she worked as a cook for the Villa Inn in Amarillo. She married George Woodrow Brooks in 1934 at Oklahoma. He died in 1956. She married Bruce Harrison in 1958 at Amarillo. He died in 1993. She married Harold Brown in 1997 at Amarillo. He died in 1999. Her son, Alton Brooks, died in 1972. Survivors include four daughters, Iveen Chambers, Margaret Covey and Doris Woods, all of Amarillo, and Vickie Jackson of Palmyra, Ind.; a son, Delbert "Butch" Brooks of Amarillo; three sisters, Edith Stevens of California, Lilla Beanch of Grapevine and Ludie Sullivan of Durant, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. A homemaker, she was docent of the Art Society, the Altar Society, Order of Martha and St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church. She married Donald C. Blatzheim in 1935 at St. Paul, Minn. He died in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Donald C. Blatzheim Jr., of San Antonio and James J. Blatzheim of Amarillo; a brother, James Rey of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Lavacot of La Habra, Calif., and Helen Bisanz of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Catholic, he served with the Army during World War II and worked as a rancher. His wife, Eloisa Mata, preceded him in death. Survivors include a brother, George Mata of Tucumcari; and a sister, Juanita Cordova of Clovis. She was a member of the Boise City Christian Church. She married W.D. Patterson in 1944 at Boise City. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, David Patterson; and a grandchild. Foster LUBBOCK - Lee R. "Frosty" Foster, 74, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lakeridge United Methodist Church with John Burk officiating. Military and Masonic graveside services will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Franklin Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Foster was born in Fort Worth and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. After serving with the Army, he attended Amarillo Junior College and studied law at Tulsa University. A 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, he was a member of the Yellowhouse Lodge No. 841, Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 1230, Scottish Rite, York Rite and South Plains Shrine Club. He was a member of the American Legion, American Quarter Horse Association and American Business Club. In Amarillo, he was a member of the Will Rogers Range Riders and Boys Ranch. He served on the board of Realtors and was owner and partner of T.T.I., and owner of Foster Realty Co., Foster Concrete Co. and Amarillo Speedway. In 1972, he moved to Lubbock and worked in sales and farmed until retiring in 1992. He married Betty J. Powell in 1957 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cindy Canchola of Bellville, Patti Wilson of Lubbock and Donna Moore of Amarillo; a son, Mike Foster of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 5, 2001 Lester Caraway RALLS - Lester Caraway, 69, of Lubbock, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ralls First Baptist Church with Alton Pope of Post officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Caraway was born in Portales, N.M., and lived in Ralls, Lubbock and Amarillo before returning to Lubbock. A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, he later served in the Marine Corps Reserve. He helped organize the Veterans Room at the Ralls Historical Museum and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He worked as a farmer and sold farm equipment. His daughter, Leslie Gayle Caraway, died in 1965. He married Linda Clements in 1957 at Petersburg. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Wayne Caraway of Elk City, Okla., and Tharon Glen Caraway of Austin; two brothers, Bob Caraway of Clyde and John Caraway of Durant, Okla.; two sisters, Lura Tennison of Clyde and Jimmie Moore of Friendswood. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
