Mr. Heflin was born May 19, 1915, in Hopkin County. He married Gladys Leola Carter on March 27, 1937, in Hale County. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty Hodge of Hereford and Troy Woolsey of San Antonio; a brother, J.B. Mr. McKay was born April 3, 1944, in Dustin, Okla. He was a construction worker. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Grimes was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Amarillo. He was a veteran having served during the Korean War. He married Anna Bethe Griffin on June 21, 1959, in Tulia. He moved to Abernathy seven years ago from Dallas. He served 24 years as a firefighter for the city of Amarillo before retiring. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Elsie Mae Hollabaugh of Amarillo; two sisters, Linda Palmer of Shamrock and Bess Brobst of Elk City, Okla.; and two brothers, Phillip Grimes of Jacksonville and Gene Grimes of DeWitt, Iowa. Albert Christian, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Terry Pugh, District Superintendent, Texico District of United Pentecostal Church International, and the Rev. Rex Johnson, pastor of Christian Life Church in Austin, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Christian was born and raised in Dalhart. He served in the Navy during World War II and participated in the invasions of Iwogima, Luzon and Okinawa. He married Mary Christian on Jan. 23, 1954, at Dalhart. He had been licensed with the United Pentecostal Church International since 1958 and was pastor of Canadian Pentecostal Church for 41 years. He was a master plumber and owner of Al's Plumbing. Survivors include three sons, Paul Christian of Owasso, Okla., the Rev. Mark Christian of St. Louis and Joe Christian of Austin; a brother, Ira Christian of Woweka, Okla.; a sister, Loretta Snyder of Nara Visa, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 5, 2001 Amarillo Virginia "Ginny" Bulloch Virginia "Ginny" Bulloch, 82, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with the Rev. Darrell Boswell of Hillcrest Church in Dallas officiating. Cremation was requested by the family. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Mrs. Bulloch was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Bay, Ark. She married Harry C. Bulloch on June 29, 1940, in Jonesboro, Ark. They lived in Amarillo from 1945-1964 then moved to Lakewood, Colo. They returned to Amarillo in 1996 to be with their life-long friends Paul and Aletha Roads. She was deeply committed to her family and friends. Her loving and generous nature, her playful sense of humor and her courageous sprit endeared her to all who knew her. She had a special tenderness for children. Survivors include her husband; four children, Harriett Billingsley, Phyllis Stanley, Russell H. Bulloch and Lawrence C. Bulloch; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Dugger was born Dec. 13, 1967, in Brunswick, Maine, to James F. and Catherine Smith Dugger. He moved to Amarillo in 1981 from Norfolk, Va. He was employed by Denman Building Products of Amarillo and was a veteran of the Army. He earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Fresno State University. He moved to Amarillo in 1985 from Tulia. He was an Army veteran. He worked for Tascosa Feed Yard in Bushland for more than 16 years. He played bass for the Beacons gospel group and was a member of Tradewinds Assembly of God Church. He married Lena Lewis in 1959 at Tulia. Ms. Vandervoort was born April 3, 1909, in Roseau County, Minn. She worked from 1931 until her retirement in 1970 as a public health nurse in Minnesota, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. An additional memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. Bill was born Dec. 5, 1941, to John and Lucile Bergner. He moved from Amarillo to Grapevine in 1991. Bill was a graduate of Texas Tech University. He was a real estate broker and worked as staff support for American Airlines. Bill fought a courageous battle against multiple myeloma. He will be remembered for his enthusiastic and generous spirit, his love for family and friends, and his zest for life. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Thomason-Bergner and Jerry Charles Bergner; and his father, John C. Bergner. Survivors include his wife, Ann Wells of Euless; two sisters, Betty Womble of Morse and Scout Bergner of Grapevine; two daughters, Sheli Johnson of Grapevine and Robin Dye of The Woodlands; his mother and stepfather, Lucile and Roy Oakley of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Jordyn and Jake Johnson of Grapevine and Dillon and Darbi Dye of The Woodlands.
