Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. John Valdez, pastor. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Deanda was born in San Saba and moved from Coleman to Pampa in 1955. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served aboard the USS Shasta. He was a body shop repairman and retired from Energas, where he was a maintenance operator. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ingram of Amarillo and Karen Deanda of Pampa; two sons, Raymond Deanda of Pearland and Danny Deanda of Austin; a stepdaughter, Patricia Harvill of Pampa; a stepson, Donnie Grider of Roland, Okla; his mother, Frances Deanda of Sweetwater; a brother, Saragosa Deanda of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 6, 2001 Lewis Reddy FLOYDADA - Lewis Reddy, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in Lockney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada by MooreRose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Reddy was born in Floydada. A lifetime resident, he attended schools in Starkey and Floydada. He was a farmer and rancher in the McCoy community and served on the Floyd County Appraisal Board for several years. He served on the McCoy Gin Board and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was married to Ann Deakins in 1955 at Floydada. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rick Reddy of Floydada; two daughters, Mitzi Hale of Richardson and Tracy Thompson of Lubbock; four sisters, Janet Hulsey of Lubbock, Joyce Roach of Robert Lee, Ruth Harper of Plainview and Nell Green of Midland; and seven grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 6, 2001 Martin Martinez DIMMITT - Martin Martinez, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fern Couture, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens. Mr. Martinez was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and moved to Dimmitt in the late 1960s. He retired from farming in 1990. He was a Catholic. He was married to Amelia Cruz in 1970 at Dimmitt. He was preceded in death by three children. Survivors include his wife; nine children; 14 stepchildren; four sisters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. box was born in Hughes Springs, and had lived in Borger since 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Amity Sunday school class and the Agape Circle. She was married to Fred Box in 1938 at Wheeler County. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Box of Muleshoe; a daughter, Carolyn Reinert of Amarillo; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Parker was born in Quanah and had been a resident of Amarillo for 60 years. She was employed by the Pantex Plant. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerold "Fritz" Parker in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Mona Simons and Lela Joiner, both of Amarillo; a son, Monty Rex May of Guam; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 6807 Columbia Lane. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 6, 2001 William John Reynolds Jr. William John Reynolds Jr., 54, of Seattle and formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in La Paz, Baja, Mexico. Entombment was in Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, N.M. Mr. Reynolds was born in Dallas and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1965 and earned a degree in math from West Texas State University. He was employed by H&R Trucking of Salt Lake City. He and his wife were vacationing in Mexico at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Wynter Reynolds; a daughter, Tyler Reynolds of Seattle; a brother, Robert Reynolds of Albuquerque; two sisters, Patty Neumann of Ogden, Utah and Susan Mayes of Dallas; one granddaughter and his daughter's mother, Linda Reynolds of Seattle. Osage St. Mrs. Harper was born in Greenville and was a longtime Amarillo resident. She was a homemaker and worked as a transporter for Advantage Rent-A-Car for the past five years. She was married to Mac "Sid" Harper in 1956 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Tommy Castleberry of Spring Creek, Nev., Terry Castleberry of Houston and Timmy Harper of Abilene; two sisters, Joyce Koontz and Janelle Diez, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Jimmy Dreadin and Jerry Dreadin, both of Amarillo; and one grandson. Entombment with Masonic graveside rites will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum East. Mr. Kemp was born in Amarillo and moved to Fritch in 1986. He was a gunner mate in the Navy during World War II. He had been owner of the Doughnut Shop. He was married to Mary Bracken in 1945 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jimmy D. Kemp of Levelland, Larry J. Kemp of Possum Kingdom, La., and Fred J. Kemp of Amarillo; 10f grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Osborn was born in Dalhart and was a longtime resident of the Amarillo and Canyon areas. During World War II, he served in the Navy. In 1989, he retired as a conductor from Santa Fe Railway after 38 years. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. Mr. Osborn was married to Pat Hiett in 1956 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nan Carrasco of Amarillo; a son, Gary Lee Osborn of Bullard; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 6, 2001 New Mexico Gordon Louis Petersen CLOVIS, N.M. - Gordon Louis Petersen, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in Lubbock, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve McElroy and the Rev. Gary Singleterry officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors rendered by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Petersen was born and raised in Luverne, Minn. He was an F-100 fighter pilot and served tours in Okinawa, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Spain and Cannon AFB. He retired as lieutenant colonel after 22 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and trustee and on committees. He was a member of AMBUCS, the Lions Club and the Downtown Men's Sunday school. He married Gwyneth Anne Bigham in 1956 at Muleshoe, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul Petersen of Georgetown and Eric Petersen of Round Rock; two brothers, Ralph Petersen and Kurt Petersen, both of Luverne; and two sisters, Elaine Reker of Luverne and Carol Drews of Auburn, Calif. The family suggest memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 6, 2001 Beatrice M. Perea CLAYTON, N.M. - Beatrice M. Perea, 87, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in Santa Fe. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church by Louis Montoya, deacon. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church by the Rev. George Silva, pastor. Burial will be in Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Perea was born in Capulin. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the choir. She sang and played the guitar and organ. Performing with other musicians, including her sisters in a group named the "Gonzales Sisters," she won talent contests and later performed at the Golondrinas senior citizen dances. She was a seamstress and made clothing for charity. Mrs. Perea was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Perea Sr.; a son, Edward Perea Jr.; and by a daughter, Martha Jane Perea. Survivors include a son, Robert O. Perea of Santa Fe; two sisters, Elsie Montoya and Henrietta Flores; four brothers, Eloy Gonzales, Joe Gonzales, Elmer Gonzales and Rudy Gonzales; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
