Mrs. Pipes was born Dec. 25, 1921, at Knox City. She married Wendell Floyd Pipes on Sept. 14, 1940, at Lubbock and moved to White Deer later that year. She was a self-employed bookkeeper and a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of White Deer. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna, Claudalee and Elizabeth. Mr. Maldonado began coming to Memphis in the late 1940s as a truck driver for cotton hauling. In 1967, he moved to Memphis permanently. Services were at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Jim Lowrimore, of RFC Ministries, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. McCullin was born July 20, 1928, in Donley County. She was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. She married Morris McCullin on Oct. 7, 1975, in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by a son, Johnathon, in 1962; a brother, Richard, in 1967; a sister, Emmaline Sisk, in 1998; her mother, Sarah, in 1998; and her father, Charles Frank Corder, in 1955. He served with the Army for two years. Mr. Vitela worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the country for more than 35 years. He worked as chief of medical administration at the hospitals in Amarillo; San Antonio; New Haven, Conn.; Saginaw, Mich.; Miles City, Mont.; Iowa City, Iowa; St. Louis, Mo.; and Montrose, N.Y. He retired in Montrose and moved to Topeka, where he lived for four years before moving to Columbia three weeks prior to his death. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Topeka and at the East Topeka Senior Center. He was a Catholic. Mr. Vitela was preceded in death by his mother, Antonia Vitela, in 1988; and by his father, Fernando Vitela, in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Diana Perkins; a brother, Fred V. Her primary responsibility was the testing of skills for potential employees for some of the larger companies in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with Mark Cattau, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Martin was born in Venice, Calif., and had lived in Amarillo for more than 60 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church from 1959 until her death. Beverly was a telegraph operator during World War II. She then went to work for Harold Shile CPA and later went to work for Doshier, Pickens and Shile as a secretary. She married Paul Benjamin Martin in 1966 at Amarillo. Together they owned and operated San Jacinto Pharmacy. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1998. Beverly was a longtime member of the International Doll Makers of America and Diligent Doll Maker of Amarillo. Beverly outwardly made a proclamation of faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ in the presence of her daughter, Becky Sue. The Rev. Bob Steeger assisted Beverly in praying a prayer of salvation in June 2000. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty McAvoy; and by her parents, Myrtle and Walter O. Barnes. Survivors include a son, Larry Wayne Martin of Amarillo; a daughter, Becky Martin of Amarillo; a sister, Marlene Marshall of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Karen Mayhew of Arlington; a great-grandson, Morgan J. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Cremation will take place. Mr. Hnidak was born in Vallejo, Calif., in January 1942. A longtime resident of the San Francisco Bay area, David moved to Oklahoma in 1991 and then to Amarillo, to join family members, in 1995. In the past David had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Richmond Rod and Gun Club at Richmond, Calif. David held a strong passion for gardening, fishing, and woodworking. David and his wife began their union in July of 1961. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn C. Hnidak; a daughter, Jacquelyn D. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Portales Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary. Mrs. Marlow was born in 1904 at Abbott, Texas, to James and Nannie Traylor. She moved with her family to the New Mexico Territory in 1906, where they established a homestead west of Elida. She was a school teacher prior to her marriage to J.D. Marlow in 1927. They made their home in Portales and became members of the First Methodist Church in 1928. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 70 years and was Worthy Grand Matron for the State of New Mexico in 1957. For many years, she was Mother Advisor to the Portales chapter of the Order of Rainbow Girls. She was a substitute school teacher in the Portales school systems for more than 25 years and later was dorm mother at Eastern New Mexico University. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D., in 1956; also, four brothers, Frank, Marshall, Lee, and an infant brother; a sister, Elizabeth; a granddaughter, Kayla Ann George; and a great-grandson, Billy Joe George II. Survivors include her daughter, Leta Faye Ashbrook, and her husband, Ray, of Portales and Causey, N.M.; her son, Ron W.
