Survivors include a son, Jim Conkwright of Lubbock; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 6, 2001 J.H. "Henry" Stout TULIA - J.H. "Henry" Stout, 92, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Stout was born in Stephens County, Oklahoma, Nov. 13, 1908. He moved with his family in 1924 to Amarillo. He married Opal Melton on Jan. 18, 1932, at Clovis, N.M. They moved to the farm near Claude the same year and farmed for 16 years. They moved to farm northwest of Tulia and farmed there until they moved into Tulia. He served on the Tulia school board from 1962-1965 and on the ASC committee for 17 years. He and several other farmers in the Kaffir Community were responsible for getting natural gas out to the farmers for irrigation. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. After moving to Tulia, he and his sons leased a ranch near Elmore City, Okla., and ran cattle there for five years. In the early 1980s he bought a farm in Arney. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Curry of Lubbock; three sons, Donald Stout of Tulia, Jim Stout of Elmore City, Okla., and Jerry Stout of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Fuller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Rudd was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Hereford. He married Minnie Alice Wells on Nov. 24, 1949, in Clovis, N.M. He lived in Deaf Smith County most of his life on the family farm. He retired from his business, Rudd Heating and Air Conditioning, in Amarillo in 1989 and resumed operating his farm. He was the last man from Deaf Smith County to be drafted for World War II. He served in the Army Air Transport Command in Florida and was discharged in 1946. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Lynn Bell of Hereford, and Patsy Thomas and Cheryl Willingham, both of Amarillo; a son, Kit Rudd of Amarillo; a brother, Homer Rudd of Hereford; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She married Simon Terrazas on June 14, 1969. She was a homemaker, a member of Hereford American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hereford. Georgia St. Mrs. Brewer was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Carter, Okla., to William E. and Myrtle Jackson. She was raised in Carter and graduated from Carter High School. She married Johnie Brewer of Sayre, Okla., on Dec. 26, 1944. After World War II they moved to Dumas and then to Amarillo in 1952, where they raised their sons. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years. During her working career she worked for several retail grocery businesses and Adams Plumbing. She was a volunteer and later an employee at Meals on Wheels where she received numerous honors for her service to her clients. She was a mentor to area schoolchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was adored by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband; two sons, J. Michael Brewer and family of Prairie Village, Kan., and W.
