Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim West, pastor of Central Christian Church of Childress, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Royal was born on July 12, 1909, in Childress County to William H. West and Nora O. Curnutte. She married Harris Royal on May 1, 1932, at Hollis, Okla. She had been a sales clerk at Baker and Hannah Department Store and Saieds Department Store. She also farmed with her husband and was a nurse's aide at Collingsworth General Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, and by eight sisters and three brothers. Survivors include a son, Phillip Cobb of Wellington; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Mr. Morrison was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Quanah to John and Kathren Condon Morrison. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School and Abilene Christian College with a degree in Bible. He married Nancy Phillips on Aug. 18, 1967, in Amarillo. He was the minister of Church of Christ in Fredericksburg, Ozona and Lamesa prior to moving to Wheeler in 1985. He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Ian Morrison in 1971. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 8, 2001 Melvin Block Melvin Block, 91, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001. Remembrance was held for family and friends. Arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Block was born in Chicago in 1910 to Moses and Rebecca Block. He was in his second year of law school in Chicago when his father died, making it necessary for him to leave school to operate the family business. He later went into business for himself as an insurance broker. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Anne Fox Block, retired to Amarillo. Mr. Block was an active member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens. In Chicago, he was a member of the B'nai Brith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; four sisters, Celia Schaffner, Anna Block, Leah Brody, Louise Auslander; and a niece, June Jackson. She sounded like a wild cat when she cried so that's what Mommy called her. Daddy called her "turtle face." Her sister and brother liked that and would laugh. There is so much we will remember about our little angel. Her life, to us, seems so brief but it was full and real. She was a wonderful little person. Mr. Vaughn was born Oct. 21, 1902, at Gause. He married Dora Jewel Anderson on Oct. 17, 1924, at Memphis. He was a retired oil field worker.
