Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jessy Younger, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mr. Landes was born at Stamps, Ark., and had lived in the Amarillo area for the past 40 years. He was last working for a janitorial service. He was a member of the South Lawn Baptist Church and active in the Adult Men 3 Class. Survivors include a sister, Alene Hudgens of Sunray; and two brothers, Burl Landes of Balejo, Calif., and Al Landes of Huven, Ohio. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 Dimple Laman Dimple Laman, 84, of Amarillo, and formerly of Borger, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church at Borger with the Rev. Jim Terry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Laman was born in Kansas City, Mo., and had lived in Borger for 60 years. She was a homemaker and retired manager for the Arcade Hotel and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She lived in Amarillo at the time of her death. Survivors include a daughter, Robbie Louise Carey of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 Jeanene Boyter Jeanene Boyter, 70, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Colonial Chapel at Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave., with the Rev. Claud Tugwell, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Boyter was a longtime Amarillo resident. She had managed several apartment complexes in Amarillo and was last working at Buena Vista Apartments. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was married to Richard Boyter in 1984 at Amarillo. He died in 1998. Survivors include three brothers, Dr. Charles Alexander of Austin, Ross Holloway of Phoenix and Jerry Alexander of Boerne. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 Paul Michael Kyle Paul Michael Kyle, 89, of Yountville, Calif., died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Loran Harper officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Kyle was born in Marietta, Okla. During World War II he served with the Navy Seabees. A former Lubbock resident, he was a member of the Hub Lions Club, past president of the South Plains Writers Association and a member of the American Legion Post No. 572. He was a salesman and was living in Yountville at the time of his death. Mr. Kyle was married to Mary Belle Debord in 1976. She died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Kyle of Santa Clara, Calif.; two sons, Michael Kyle of San Francisco and Gary Kern of Nevada City, Calif.; three sisters, Rosemary Davis of Summerville, S.C., Wilma Lahr of Fort Worth and Velma Gilliam of Granbury; a brother, Robert D. Mr. McCune was born in Wellsville, Ohio, and moved to Amarillo in 1970. He worked in the maintenance industry. He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Shilo McCune and Romeo Shilo McCune. Survivors include his wife, Martha McCloskey McCune; a daughter, Samantha Michelle Wiley of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sons, Lloyd McCune and Demetrius Edward McCune, both of Amarillo; a sister, Naomi Rudder of New Cumberland, W.Va.; and three brothers, James McCune of Timmons, Ontario, Canada and Edward Yost and John Arrington, both of Amarillo. Mrs. King was born in Dike. She moved to Happy in 1945 and to Canyon in 1959. She worked at businesses in Canyon and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. She was married to J. Lindell King in 1944 at Tucumcari, N.M. He died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Wesley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jackie Howell of Kilgore; a sister, Leota Samson of Colorado Springs; and seven grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 New Mexico Walter J. Beckman CLAYTON, N.M. - Walter J. "Kelly" Beckman, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Hass Funeral Home with P. Louis Montoya, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Beckman was born in Canyon, Texas. A World War II veteran, he had served as a radio technician for the Army Air Corps. He lived in Hereford, Texas, where he farmed in Deaf Smith and Hartley counties. In 1965 he moved to Sedan, Union County, where he farmed. Mr. Beckman moved to Logan a few years ago. He was married to Viola Mae Reed in 1967. She died in 1969. He was married to Virgie Carney in 1975. She died in 2000. Survivors include a brother, Louis Beckman of Clayton; three sisters, Veronica Stanley of Canon City, Colo., Viola Massie of Gonzales, Texas, and Mary Ann Voss of Comfort, Texas; three stepchildren, Jay Carney of Logan, Rhett Carney of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Bonnie McConnell of Hermiston, Ore. Rody Chesser officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Galaz was born in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, and came to the United States at age 14. He was a farm and ranch hand in New Mexico, working in the Grady area. No survivors. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Stinnett by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Nino was born in Knippa and had been a resident of Borger for five years. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Contreras, in 1970 and a daughter, Beatrice Gonzales, in 1999. Survivors include four sons, Crescenio Contreras of Borger, Rodolfo Contreras and Raymond Contreras, both of Stinnett, and Victor Contreras of Bluffton, Ind.; four daughters, Rosalinda Serrano of Willis, Alicia Mota, Margarita Harshman and Rosalia Martinez, all of Borger; one brother, Pat Benitez of Fort Morgan, Colo.; three sisters, Dennise Benitez of Dallas, Gregoria Coronado of Uvalde and Elida Quiroz of Knippa; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 28 greatgreat-grandchildren. Burial will be in Edith Ford Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. May was born in Seminole. He had lived in Liberal for 11 years. He was a self-employed piano technician and the owner of Piano Tuning by Carey T. May. He was a minister and evangelist. He attended Risen Glory Church. He was living in Liberal at the time of his death. Mr. May was married to Cheryl Elms Sullins in 1988 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Thomas Jefferson May of Liberal, Alan Sullins of Virginia and Cory Sullins of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Trayce Lamb of Amarillo and Lyndye May and Karyn May, both of Liberal; his mother, Ruth Ella May of Canadian; a brother, Earl May of Amarillo; and a grandchild. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors Chapel with Orland Vigil officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Kelton Cemetery. Mr. Blevins had worked as a butcher, a construction worker, and in the national guard. He retired in 1997 after working for the highway department. Survivors include his wife, Olivia Blevins; two daughters, Dina Busby of Canadian, Tanja Austin of Irving; a son, Rickie Blevins of Borger; three brothers, Eugene Blevins of Canadian and Roy Blevins and Darrell Blevins, both of Kansas; sisters, Wanda of Spurger and Linda Hawkins of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 Thurman Loyd Faulkenberry BORGER - Thurman Loyd Faulkenberry, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Sizemore, pastor, and the Rev. James Faulkenberry, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Faulkenberry was born in Bowie and had lived in Borger for the past 53 years. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was an operator for Phillips Petroleum Co., CoPolymer Plant. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Mr. Faulkenberry was married to Joy L. Jones in 1945 at Grandfield, Okla. She died in 1998. Survivors include three daughters, Lois Ford and Angela Kay Brown, both of Borger, and Joy Beth McCormick of Amarillo; a brother, James Faulkenberry of Nixa, Mo.; a sister, Melba Powers of Biloxi, Miss.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 9, 2001 Grady Lee Stamps CHILDRESS - Grady Lee Stamps, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Conner, retired, and Rev. Jon Crosby, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Stamps was born in Childress. He was a retired performance supervisor of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service and a farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon and treasurer. He also taught the Junior Boys Sunday school class and was the song leader. He was married to Katherine Shelton in 1939 at Childress. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Anne Cole, in 1987. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wanda Ward of Wellington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
