Arrangements are by Dunsford Funeral Home of Augusta with local arrangements by Brown Funeral Directors in Borger. Mrs. DeMoss was born in Glade, Kan., and had lived in Borger five years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and was a Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Loyd, in 1963; and by her husband, Dale DeMoss, in 2000. She also was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Loyd. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Caudle of Guymon, Okla., and Dorothy Babb of El Dorado, Kan.; two brothers, Blane Sparks of Brush, Colo., and Russell Sparks of Denver; two sisters, Jenny Trilleniger of Roseburg, Ore., and Mary McClure of Phillipsburg, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Highland Park Cemetery at Borger with Stan Mitchell, minister of Church of Christ in Borger, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Overton was born in Ryan, Okla. A longtime resident of Borger, she moved to Dumas in 1990. She had worked at Poplar Supply in Borger for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester Overton Sr., in 1959; and by a son, Gaylon Overton, in 2000. Survivors include a son, Charles Overton of Dumas; a brother, Melvin England of Waurika, Okla.; a sister, Glenna Kenyon of Dumas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Jan 9, 2001 Kate Adair Waters MEMPHIS - Kate Adair Hopkins Waters, 91, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Dulany Funeral Home at Eagle Lake with the Rev. Lynn Wilson, pastor of the Church of Christ in Columbus, officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery at Eagle Lake. Local arrangements were by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Waters was born in Garwood and attended Garwood High School in 1926. She graduated from Eagle Lake High School in 1927 and attended the University of Texas in Austin for two years. She earned her bachelor's degree from North Texas State University and her master's degree in education from the University of Houston. She taught school for 37 years, beginning in Eldridge and retiring from the Corpus Christi Independent School District. After her retirement, she moved to Columbus where she was a member of the John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Church of Christ. She moved to Memphis in 2000. She married Bowling Waters in 1937. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Adair Waters Hodgson, in 1988. Survivors include a brother, James G. Hopkins of Columbus; a sister, Mary Frances Clare of Austin; and two grandsons. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Bardwell was born in Potter County. She lived in Sherman County since 1942 and moved to Dumas in 1999. She worked for the city of Stratford and Stratford Butane for many years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Stratford. She married Garland Bardwell in 1941 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jeanette West of Dumas and Paulette Palmer of Stratford; two sisters Bertie May Whitaker and Minnie Belle Sharp, both of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Green was born in McQueen, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Shamrock before moving to Amarillo last year. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship. She married Joe Knoll in 1935. He died in 1962. She married Roe Green in 1963. He died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by two sons, John Drew Knoll, in 1997, and Joe Frank Knoll, in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Joan F. Inman of Amarillo; a sister, Lula Worrell of Lamesa; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A longtime resident of Amarillo, he worked at the Exell Helium Plant. He was an Army veteran. He married Carlene in 1943 at Wolfe City. She died in 1976. He married Jean Roan in 1981 at Corpus Christi. She died in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Swindell, Garry Swindell and Larry Swindell, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Carla Swindell of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. Terry was born in Athens, Texas. He moved to Artesia in 1954 from Wellington, Texas. He was a pump mechanic for Navajo Refinery, retiring in 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and taught Sunday school. He was a member of Good Sam RV Club. He married Belva Johnson in 1942 at Muskogee, Okla. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. CST today in the Kenton Community Building at Kenton with Harold James officiating. Burial will be in Kenton Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Boise City. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. White was born in Lamar, Colo., and was a lifetime resident of Cimarron County, living near Boise City and Wheeless. As a teen-ager, he was active in the rodeo circuit. He served in the Army during World War II, returning home to continue the ranching operation. He was employed by Cimarron County for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Roping Club, American Legion, VFW Ceremonial Team, Odd Fellows, Junior Fat Stock Show and Farm Bureau board, all of Boise City. He was a longtime superintendent of the fair, a member of 5-State Hereford Breeders Association and American Quarter Horse Association. He was a member of Wheeless Baptist Church at Wheeless. He was awarded Farmer Rancher of the Year in 1972 and Cow Hand of the Year for Cimarron County in 1990. He married Joann Warner in 1951 at Clayton, N.M. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Wade White. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Elisabeth Charlene Hanson of Cashion, Trina Jo Branscum of Ulysses, Kan., and Alinda Sue Appleton of Hennessey; a brother, Bobby D. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Reydon First Baptist Church with Dale Westbrook and Alberta Helton officiating. Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery by Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Mrs. Wright was born in Spearman, Texas, and moved with her parents to Allison, Texas, where she graduated from Allison High School. She was a member of Reydon First Baptist Church. She married Floyd Raymond "Jiggs" Wright in 1942 at Cheyenne. They lived in the Dempsey community before moving to Reydon in 1950. He died in 1982.
