Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Borger, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Dickison was a carpenter in construction for the Labors National Union of the AFL-CIO. He married Pauline Tarr on Aug. 14, 1975, in Ponca City, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Glen Robinson of Borger and Charles Robinson of Austin; a daughter, Linda Bookout of Ponca City; a brother, Benjamin Dickison of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 Anna Belle Tipton SILVERTON - Anna Belle Tipton, 80, died Sunday, July 8, 2001, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Mr. Ted Kingery officiating and the Rev. Randy Mullin assisting. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mrs. Tipton was born on Jan. 20, 1921, at Lexington, Okla. She worked for the A.S.C.S. for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Chafford "C.A." Tipton on Dec. 6, 1939, at Silverton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Tipton, on Dec. 31, 1997. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Weldon Ray and Eva Tipton of Colorado City; two brothers, Robert McJimsey of Lubbock and Raymond McJimsey of Lake McKenzie; a daughter-in-law, Reba Tipton of Silverton; a granddaughter; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 Vivian Sirratt Vivian Sirratt, 67, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 6, 2001, in Big Spring. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Myers and Smith Funeral Home of Big Spring. Mrs. Sirratt was born Oct. 20, 1934, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Eunice Harvell and C.B. Strahan. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo. Survivors include a son, Dennis Sirratt of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Penny Sirratt of Amarillo; her mother, Eunice Strahan of Miami; two brothers, James Strahan of Carrollton and Roy Strahan of Miami; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel at Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors at Borger with the Rev. Don Rice of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Eastview Cemetery at Vernon. Mrs. Sayre had lived in Fritch since 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sanford. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 David Bender BOVINA - David "Dave" Bender, 93, of Shattuck, Okla., died Friday, July 6, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bovina Cemetery with Pastor James Shires of Seventh Day Adventist Church at Shattuck officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. A longtime resident of Shattuck, Mr. Bender had lived for a short time in Friona and Bovina. He was a retired farmer and rancher. Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Zachary of Woodward, Okla.; two sisters, Evelyn Bender of Higgins, Okla., and Genevieve Ezell of Bovina; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 H.S. Waller FLOYDADA - H.S. Waller, 85, died Sunday, July 8, 2001. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Floydada Cemetery with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Waller retired from farming in 1959. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lois Waller; a son, J.E. Waller of Floydada; six sisters, Josephine Switzer of Shamrock, Alene Gilker of Ohio, Vera Thornton of Tulia and Ruth Assiter, Ina Anderson and Eva Richardson, all of Lubbock; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 Amarillo William Nemeth William "B.J." Nemeth, 68, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 6, 2001. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Terry Sparks, minister at Community of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Nemeth was born in Bridgeport, Conn. He had lived in Amarillo for 30 years. He worked as a truck driver and at several truck stops in and around Amarillo. He retired in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Lola Nemeth; two sisters, Eleanor Hill of Ocala, Fla., and Elaine Roberts of Chestertown, N.Y.; and a brother, Larry Nemeth of Ocala. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 Anna Marie Schiff Anna Marie Barthel Schiff, 94, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 8, 2001. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.. Mrs. Schiff was born in Evansville, Ind. Her father, John Barthel, owned Barthel's Hillside Grocery on the west side of Evansville. She passed on to a better place on July 8, 2001. Mrs. Schiff was a colorful woman, to say the least. She loved to laugh and maintained her sense of humor until the end. She was greatly loved and is terribly missed by her children, grandchildren and all who knew her. She met and wed Edward Schiff, her husband of 66 years, in Evansville. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Loretta, Betty and Florence; and a brother, Henry. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Thoman of Amarillo and Jane Hedges of Oak Park, Ill.; a son, Dr. Jon Schiff of Key West, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1001 S. Jefferson, Amarillo TX 79101. Amarillo Globe-News July 9, 2001 Adrian Mohon Adrian Mohon, 89, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 8, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in North Amarillo Church of Christ with Haun Kite, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Mohon was born in Hollis, Okla. He had lived in Amarillo since 1947. Chief Petty Officer Mohon served as a Seabee with the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. A longtime employee in the parts department of Amarillo Hardware, he was a member of Amarillo Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge Palo Duro No. 1239. He married Opal Marie Mahon on May 16, 1936. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Shasteen, M.D., of Seattle; a son, David Mohon of Weatherford; two grandchildren, David Jr., Air Force captain, of Navarre, Fla., and Melissa of Weatherford.
