Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church at Panhandle with the Rev. Jim Perkins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mrs. Ross was born in Elk City, Okla. She was a 1974 graduate of Panhandle High School. Survivors include a son, Curtis Ray Ross of Mesquite; two daughters, Nivea Marie Ross and Lydia Ka Ross, both of Mesquite; and her parents, Darrell and Wanda Simmons of Panhandle. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2001 Andrew Frank Murdoch Andrew Frank Murdoch, 52, of Amarillo, died Monday, June 4, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with Monsignor Harold Waldo, of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Murdoch was born Jan. 1, 1949, in St. Louis. He was a pipe fitter and welder. Survivors include two sons, Timothy Murdoch of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Christopher Murdoch of Houston; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2001 Mary Lou Puckett Mary Lou Puckett, 71, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 7, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T.C. Messer, pastor of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church of God, officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Ms. Puckett was born in Wann, Okla. She lived in Amarillo for 43 years. She was a housewife. She was an honorary member of the Grapevine Lion's Club. She also was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of God. She married William Miller in 1945 at Coffeyville, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1975. She then married Chester M. Puckett in 1979 at Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1991. Survivors include three daughters, Donna Willson and Brenda Kelso, both of Amarillo, and Debbie Ballengee of Grapevine; four sons, William Miller of Springfield, Mo., Robert Miller and Brian Miller, both of Amarillo, and Scott Miller of Austin; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Wann, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice or Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2001 J. Roy Shenk J. Roy Shenk, 95, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 8, 2001. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery East with the Rev. Royce Womack, a United Methodist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Shenk was born in Norborne, Mo. He had lived in Amarillo for 10 years. He married Ferne Shelly on Feb. 18, 1929. Mr. Shenk retired as a manager from JCPenney after 32 years with the company. He was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a longtime Lions Club member. He was a community leader in Las Animas, Colo. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife; a son, John Shenk of Amarillo; two daughters, Alvena Blatchley of Denver and Shirley Gardner of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 9, 2001 Area Harold Hart Williams SHAMROCK - Harold Hart Williams, 75, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Westman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright funeral Directors. Mr. Williams was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Twitty. He had lived in Wheeler County all of his life. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1947 with a business agriculture degree. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. He served in World War II with the 806 bombing group in the Army Air Force. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club, Booster Club, a Shriner and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Nadyne Williams; five sons: Dr. Randall Williams of Kingsville, Richard Williams of Dallas, Ken Little of San Antonio, Joe Edd Little of Greybull, Wyo., and Mark Wesley Little of Berkley, Calif; one daughter, Janice Cody of Dallas; one sister, Sue McNett of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church building fund, Shamrock, TX; or Irish Helping Hands, Shamrock, TX. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Community Christian Church with Jim O'Banion officiating. Burial will be in Gray Cemetery at Gray, Okla., by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Kerns was a teacher at Perryton Junior High School from 1955 to 1987. He was an elder at Community Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Gequetta Kerns; a son, Dane Kerns of Smyer; a daughter, Darsha Blair of Amarillo; a brother, Cleo Kerns of Laurel, Miss.; two sisters, Leah Hood of Liberal, Kan., and LaVada Lee of Booker; and three grandchildren.
