Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Seago was born in Sayer. She moved to Texas from Erick, Okla., and to Deaf Smith County in 1981 from El Paso. She was a real estate properties manager. She was a member of Valeda Study Club of Hereford and Hereford Senior Citizens. She volunteered at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married John Seago. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 10, 2001 Larry Marcus Schoenhals DARROUZETT - Larry Marcus Schoenhals, 58, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001 in Perryton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Chandler officiating. Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Schoenhals was born in Shattuck, Okla., and raised in Darrouzett where he graduated from high school in 1960. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1964. He earned his master's degree from Webster College at St. Louis. He served in the Air Force in Germany and in Vietnam with the 12th Tactical Recon Squadron as an aircraft maintenance officer. Following discharge after 15 years he enlisted in the Army Reserve, was promoted to major and retired in 1993. He then served as chief appraiser for Wheeler Central Appraisal District. Mr. Schoenhals was a longtime member of American Legion Kiowa Post No. 635 of Darrouzett, Veterans of Foreign Wars Tri-County Post of Perryton and the Golden Spread Chapter of the National Historical Society of Germans from Russia, where he served as president. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his father, Harry Schoenhals of Darrouzett; and a brother, Barry Schoenhals of Darrouzett. She was a member of the Beta Delphin Study Club, the Plainview Cemetery Association board, the Plainview Community Concerts Association and the Women's Club of Plainview. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview, where she taught Sunday school. She married J.B. Wheeler in 1947 at Plainview. Briggs, 94, formerly of Canyon, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in Fairfax, Va. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Don McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Briggs was born in Abilene. She retired in 1969 as the bookkeeper from the Medical and Dental Clinic in Canyon. She later worked as home secretary for the Randall County Chapter of the American Red Cross. She worked for H.R.'s and as a librarian for the Randall County Library. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was living in Fairfax at the time of her death. She married Cecil Briggs in 1927 at Happy. He died in 1990. Rosary was recited Tuesday evening in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today in the church by the Rev. Tobin Hitt. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mr. Madrid was born in Puerto de Luna, and was raised between Vaughn and Santa Rosa. He served in North Africa in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a gunner aboard a B-17. He received service medals including the Purple Heart. He worked as a deputy sheriff for Guadalupe County and later for Santa Fe Railway. In 1950, he moved to Portales and worked for A.D. Ribble Lumber Co., Bob Ross, and Herbert Lumber before going to work at the water department for the city of Portales. He retired from the city in 1977. He was a member of the Selective Service board in Roosevelt County and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3299. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and a volunteer with the distribution of food commodities. He married Emma Elvira Trujillo in 1945 at Vaughn. Survivors include his wife; nine sons, Jerry Madrid of Portales, Billy Madrid of Arlington, Texas, Fred Madrid of Albuquerque, Frank Madrid, Joe Luis Madrid, Hyme Madrid, Felipe Madrid and David Madrid, all of Amarillo and Paul Madrid of Mesquite, Texas; seven daughters, Ramona Coiner and Angie Visser, both of Clovis, Katie Rodriguez, Patsy Madrid and Matilda Ortega, all of Portales and Vanessa Madrid and Paula Espinoza, both of Mesquite; a sister, Antonia Aragon of Vaughn; 50 grandchildren; 62 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He moved to Amarillo in 1961 and worked for Jesse's Builders Supply for many years before starting Corona's Door Shop Inc., which he owned and operated at the time of his death. He served on the board of the National Association of Remodeling Industry and was a member of Panhandle Home Builders Association. He was active with Evelyn Rivers Christmas project and was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Fisherman's Sunday school class. He married Elnora Butler in 1961 at Hedley.
