Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Art Lynch, minister of First Street Church of Christ, and the Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Burkett was a Dumas and Moore County resident for more than 60 years. She was born Aug. 24, 1914, in Cook County. She was a member of First Street Church of Christ in Dumas. She was a homemaker and mother. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Oran Delmar Roberts in 1959 and L.C. Burkett in 1989; and by a daughter, Joyce Baldwin, in 1991. Survivors include four daughters, Peggy M. Roberts, Dorothy Griffith and Frances Guest, all of Dumas and Shirley McGregor of Amarillo; a son, Elton Roberts of Bristow, Okla.; a brother, Orval Bentley of Gainesville; six stepchildren, L.C. Burkett and Don Burkett, both of Sunray, Billie Brazell of Dumas, Betty Atkins of Decatur, Dessie Gibbs of Dandridge, Tenn., and Patsy Arp of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 10, 2001 Loyce Marie Moffitt HEDLEY - Loyce Marie Moffitt, 87, died Sunday, July 8, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Rowe Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Schroeder, executive pastor of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Moffitt was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Hedley, where she lived most of her early life. She lived in Dumas for a short time and had been a resident of Amarillo for the past 21 years. She was married to Thomas Harold Moffitt, who preceded her in death in 1963. Mrs. Moffitt owned and operated H&M Variety & Dry Goods Store in Hedley for seven years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hedley. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Omer Wood, in 2000. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Finchum of Amarillo; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Mollie Moffitt of Memphis; a sister, Opal Johnson of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Survivors include five daughters, Mary Sepulveda of Stinnett, Petra Abrego of Fort Worth, Pepper Johnson of Brownwood, Katie Thom of Las Vegas and Jovita Rivera of Pampa; two sons, Stanley Martinez of Pampa and Pedro O'Dell Martinez Jr. of Lubbock; 42 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Fansler was born in Amarillo and had been a longtime resident. He graduated from Iowa Park High School. He owned and operated Fansler & Sons Electric Inc. Mr. Fansler married Donna Maples in 1981 at Garden City, Kan. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He taught Soldiers for the Savior first through third grade boys Sunday school class for the last five years. He was president of the Panhandle Bird Dog Club for several years. He had been a member of the Electrical Workers Union I.B.E.W. Local No. 602 since he was 18 years old. Mr. Fansler was preceded in death by his father, David Fansler, in 1997; and by a brother, David Fansler Jr., in 1992. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Neal Fansler of Amarillo; his mother, Rowena Fansler of Amarillo; a brother, Alvin Fansler of Amarillo; and three sisters, Clara Fansler, Aileen Reeves and Laura McCreary, all of Amarillo. Mr. Lauersdorf was called to his heavenly home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, July 7, 2001. Carl was active in the Tarkington High School Beta Club, the band, varsity tennis team, FFA and 4-H showing lambs and goats statewide. He was a youth representative on the administrative board at First United Methodist Church of Cleveland and a member of MYF. He was a show car exhibitor and enjoyed fishing and off-road bike riding. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Collins was born and raised in the Boise City area. He worked for several people over the years but mostly at Phillips 66 gas station in Boise City. Survivors include two brothers, Ernest Collins of Clayton, N.M., and Robert Collins of Boise City; and two sisters, Clorinda Collins of Midwest City and Emma Romero of Denver. He worked for 52 years at the Chevrolet dealership and for 331/2 years on the Shattuck City Council.
