Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lemons Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. today in St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Hale Center with the Rev. Raymundo Manriques officiating. Burial will be in Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Champion was born June 25, 1927, in San Juan. He married Delores Flores on Dec. 19, 1947, in Grandfalls. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Betty Mesa of San Antonio, Diana Long of Plainview, Mary Gariby of Hale Center and Janie Long of Edinburg; three sons, Robert Champion of Amarillo and Joe Champion and David Champion, both of Plainview; two sisters, Aurora Sanchez of Elsa and Enadina Jimenez of Odessa; two brothers, Johnny Champion of Dumas and Gilbert Champion of San Juan; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 10, 2001 M. Lawrence Ellzey PERRYTON - M. Lawrence Ellzey, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Kennedy and the Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Ellzey was a member of First United Methodist Church and had been choir director for 27 years. He was one of the first elected members of the Ochiltree General Hospital Board, was a board member of Federal Land Bank and was past president of the Hereford Cattle Breed Association. He had ranched in the Wolf Creek area since the early 1920s. He was manager of the L Z Boys Camp for 14 years on the creek. He was Rotary Workhorse of the Year in 2000 and received various other community service awards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elvira Ellzey, and two brothers, William Clark Ellzey and Jack Ellzey. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Jill Marie Ellzey of Perryton; four sons, Dr. M. Lawrence Ellzey Jr. of El Paso, Thomas S. Ellzey of Guymon, Okla., John Charles Ellzey of Alexandria, Va., and Stephen F. Ellzey of Seattle; a brother, Dr. Charles Homer Ellzey of Homewood, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gibbons was born Dec. 2, 1921, in Memphis. She had been a Dumas resident for 62 years. She married Darrell Gibbons in August 1940 at Dumas. She was a medical secretary for Dr. O.J. Richardson, Dr. William Holt and Dr. Lee Cranfill. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 9, 1988. Survivors include three daughters, Joanna Rondeau, Darla Smith and Karen Paul, all of Houston; a brother, Thomas Dye of Dumas; three sisters, Beatrice Jones, June Holton and Billie Harris, all of Lubbock; and three grandchildren. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gillispie was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Grayson County. She had been a Moore County resident since 1984. She was a member of Church of Christ of Sunray. She was a homemaker. She married G.Y. Gillispie in 1927 at Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. Survivors include a son, Gladwin Gillispie of Dumas; a daughter, Floy Chism of Johnson City, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Sister Mary Morrissey of Crown of Texas Hospice officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors. Mr. Deitz was born in Seldovia, Alaska. He moved to Valle De Oro in 1985 from Anchorage, Alaska. He married Patsy D. Perrin in 1981 at Anchorage. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He retired in 1993 from Western Sand and Gravel. He was a member of Operation Union No. 502 in Anchorage and a Native American of the Alaskan Aleut Tribe. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Morgan was born in Anson and graduated from high school in Spur. He married Florine Addington on June 28, 1927, at Spur. He worked for Leeway Motor Freight as a shop foreman before beginning his career in the amusement business. He worked as a manufacturer and operator of amusement equipment for over 25 years. He was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Venita Morgan, in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Morgan of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He graduated from high school in Scott City, Kan., in 1971. He attended Garden City College at Garden City, Kan., where he played football and earned an associate degree. He married Gloria Solis on Nov. 22, 1980. He worked with Page & Associates for 20 years with the last 10 years being a construction superintendent. He was a member of the carpenters local union since 1989. He was also a member of the PAGA Golf Association, a Mason, a Shriners and a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brian Zambrano and Eric Zambrano, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Stephanie Zambrano of Amarillo; a stepson, Adrian Munoz of Dallas; his mother, Victoria Zambrano of San Antonio; three brothers, Henry Zambrano Jr. of Amarillo, Elias Zambrano of San Antonio and Edward Zambrano of Holcomb, Kan.; two sisters, Lollie Luker and Ruth Zambrano, both of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Xavier, Yvette and Jacalyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ogden moved to Guymon from Kansas City, Mo., in 1948. She was married to the late Judge Frank M. Ogden. Survivors include a daughter, Pam Hicks of Guymon; a son, Richard Ogden of Oklahoma City; a brother, Richard L. Hardwick of Kansas City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Resthaven Funeral Home, Abbey Chapel, with Doug Hale officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery of Amarillo. Mrs. Biddle was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Cherokee, Okla. She came to Texas in a covered wagon from Indian territory and grew up on ranches in West Texas where her father was a foreman. She married George Biddle on March 15, 1995, in Lubbock. She began her restaurant career in 1950 at Borger. She owned and operated Darby's Grill. She moved to Lubbock in 1968 and worked in the food and beverage business. Survivors include her husband, George; four daughters, Jerri Rae Carper, Carol Williams and Paula Pechacek all of Lubbock and Ruth Laughery of Odessa; five sisters, Bonnie Weatherly, Norma Ruth Rogers, Martha Louise Boyce, Gaynell Miller and Claudette Sharp; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
