Rosary was at 6 p.m. Sunday in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, in Floydada. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with the Rev. Rudolf Crasta, celebrant. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery. Mrs. Vasquez married Luis Vasquez on Sept. 16, 1939, in Derby. She was a homemaker and member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Floydada. Survivors include five sons, Mike Vasquez of Chicago, Abel Vasquez, Lucio Vasquez and Ricky Vasquez, all of Floydada, and Carlos Vasquez of San Antonio; four daughters, Lilia Garcia of Chicago, Virginia Vasquez of San Antonio, Emma Sanchez of Floydada and Olga Enriquez of Canon; a sister, Matilde Santos of Midland; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Shamrock Church of Christ with Cottie Tarbet officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Brashears was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Velma, Okla. She had lived in the Shamrock area since 1936. She married Earl Brashears on Sept. 15, 1934, in Shamrock. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; and a son, Truman Brashears, in 1993. Survivors include a son, Adler Brashears of Shamrock; four daughters, Shirley LeBlanc and Sudie Galmor, both of Shamrock, Kay Martin of Las Vegas and Phyllis Snider of Dallas; a brother, Wallace Biter of Shamrock; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In 1944, they purchased a home in Elmwood where they resided until moving to Perryton in 1993. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Community Church at Hereford with Dorman Duggan, pastor of Community Church, and Frankie Garcia, pastor of Church on the Go in Denton, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery of Hereford by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Landers was born July 11, 1932, in Hereford to Roscoe and Estelle Wilson Landers. He married Joyce Shirley on April 15, 1955, in Clovis, N.M. He was a retired farmer and a member of Community Church in Hereford. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Shane Landers of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Steve Landers of Hereford; a daughter, Tonya Garcia of Denton; his mother, Estelle Hopson of Sturgis, S.D.; three brothers, Rodney Hopson of Prescott Valley, Joe Hopson of Sturgis, S.D., and Grady Hopson of Dewey, Ariz.; a sister, Vickie Velasquez of Monte Vista, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Georgia St. Mrs. Taylor was born in Temple, Okla. She married Jay R. Taylor in 1950 at Temple. She moved to Amarillo in 1951. She was a homemaker and active in the Junior League. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 10, 2001 Evelyn Howell Burk Evelyn Howell Burk, 81, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Burk was born on Nov. 16, 1919. She was a loving wife and mother and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1962. She was married to the late Houston M. Burk, physician. She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Cordie Howell of Waco and the sister of the late Fannie Mae Howell (Fan) Meredith of Scottsdale, Ariz. After graduating with honors from Waco High School, she attended Baylor University, where she graduated in 1941 with a degree in speech and home economics. She was a member of the Athenean Club. She met her husband in a chemistry class at Baylor and they were married in 1942. As members of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo, she and her husband sang in the Sanctuary Choir and taught Sunday school for several years. During the last years of World War II, she and her first child lived with her in-laws in Menard while her husband was overseas. She taught English in the local high school and later taught history in Tulia where she and her family lived until moving to Amarillo. She had recently been living in Fredricksburg to be closer to her children. She was a resident of Knopp's Nursing Home and was greatly appreciated for her grace and good humor. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include two sons, Gary Burk of San Francisco and Ken Burk of San Antonio; a daughter, Jan Lotz of Flower Mound; a sister-in-law, Shirley Burk Heyman of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Jennifer Burk of Dallas and John Burk of Waco; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Clifford graduated from Balko High School with the Class of 1992. She was united in marriage with Nathan Clifford on June 13, 1999, in Guymon. Survivors include her husband; three children, Seth Bradley, Savanna Rose and Catie Ann; her parents, Robert and Pam Freeman of Balko; two grandmothers, Jean Byers and Alta Freeman; two brothers, Johnnie Freeman and Cody Freeman, both of Balko; and "honorary parents," Bill and Kathy Browder of Sunray, Texas. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 10, 2001 Elsewhere Jo Robins DALLAS - Jo Robins, 75, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Robins died at her home in Dallas from complications of cancer. She was born July 13, 1926, in Lloyd, near Denton. Her parents were Walter Dee Lowrie Sr. and Anna Riley. She grew up in Hamby and graduated from Abilene High School in 1943. She attended TSCW in Denton for two years and married Freddie Robins in 1954. She resided in Fort Worth for many years before moving to Dallas in 1955. She worked as a secretary at Fletcher Oil & Gas Drilling, British American Oil and was secretary to Thos E. Stanley, architect. She returned to Fort Worth in 1965 and was secretary to Sam Denney at the law firm of Law, Snakard, Brown and Gambill. She then began working with her son as the typesetter and business manager for his newspaper, Meadowbrook Shopping News, from 1979 until he sold the paper in 1989. She continued to help him until the present with his portrait photography business which is now located at NorthPark Center in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a sister, Frankie Deming; and a brother, Jimmy Ray Lowrie. Survivors include a son, Marc Robins of Dallas; two sisters, Annette Stevens of Fort Worth and Mozelle Eakens of Amarillo; a brother, Walter Dee Lowrie Jr. and wife, Marilyn, of Fort Worth; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Rouse was born on July 28, 1916, in Winter, Texas. She had been a resident of Quay County and the Tucumcari area since 1930.
