Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Todd Dyess of Pampa and the Rev. John Westman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hamill was born in Belton. A longtime resident of Shamrock, she worked as a hairdresser and was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star, Business and Professional Women's Club, Rebekah Lodge and the Suzannah Group. She married Earl Fuller Hamill in 1926 at Glen Rose. He died in 1984. Her daughter, Betty Jo Harral, died in 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Rives of Wheeler; a sister, Bessie Post of Amarillo; five grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 12, 2001 Victor Parrish SHAMROCK - Victor Parrish, 71, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Church of Christ with nephews officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Parrish was born in Shamrock. A lifetime resident and 1946 graduate of Shamrock High School, he farmed and ranched. He married Leona Hawley in 1954. She died in 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis and Debbie ; and four sisters, Dovie Miller of Tahoka, Ora Lee Foringer of Washington, Pa., Josephine Burgess of Clarendon and Jo Ann Brooks of Shamrock. The family suggests memorials be to Westview Boy's Home in Hollis, Okla. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 12, 2001 Allen L. Chapman VEGA - Allen L. Chapman, 70, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Albuquerque, N.M. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church at Vega with the Rev. James Peach, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Vega Funeral Home, 110 Main. Mr. Chapman was born in Springfield, Colo., and was a longtime resident of Vega. After retiring from the Army after serving tours of duty in Korea, Japan, Okinawa and Germany, he worked as a mechanic for Caterpillar in California, D&L Motor Homes in Amarillo and later was self-employed. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Verna McNabb in 1951 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Chapman of Amarillo; a daughter, LaJenda Chapman Edgington of Amarillo; three brothers, Merlin Chapman of Tulia, Harold Chapman of Madill, Okla., and Jewel Chapman of Cortez, Colo.; a sister, Elsie Drake of Boise City, Okla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will be at 400 N. Sixth in Vega. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 12, 2001 Helen Cain DUMAS - Helen Cain, 83, of Middlewell, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in Dumas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor of Hunt and Middlewell Methodist Churches, and the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, assisting. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cain was born in Channing. A pioneer and longtime resident of the Middlewell Community, she was a farmer and rancher and a member of Middlewell Methodist Church. She married Ray Cain in 1939 at Canyon. He died in 1972. Her son, Tommy Cain, died in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Mitchell of Dumas and Jayne Anne Clifton of Crosby; three sons, D.R. Cain of Amarillo, David Cain of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dudley Lynn Cain of Channing; 15 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. The family will be at the family home, 17 miles southwest of Dumas, and suggests memorials be to Middlewell Methodist Church, 5642 Farm Market 722, Channing, TX 79018; or Moore County Animal Society, P.O. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jon Crosby of the church officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Barber was born in Eldorado, Okla. Active in the Emmaus Walk, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Senior Citizens Board of Directors. She was a seamstress and retired as a cook from Childress Regional Medical Hospital. Her husband, Walter Barber, died in 1980. Her son, Duane Barber, died in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Neil Barber of Childress and Randy Barber of Amarillo; two daughters, Redonna Jones of Abilene and Sharon Longbine of Childress; a brother, Cletis Duane McDaniel of Spring Valley, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Spradling worked as a drilling contractor and was a member of the Church of Christ in Borger. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; a son, Mike Spradling of Borger; a sister, Sally Cook of Randlett, Okla.; and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Llano Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave. Mrs. Petty was born in Chickasha, Okla. Before moving to Claremore, she lived in Mountain Park, Borger and Pampa. Her first husband, Jack G.R. Montgomery, died in 1993. She married Myriam "Pete" Petty in 1995. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jo Ann Berner of Amarillo and Sheila Berner of Claremore; a son, Tom Montgomery of Claremore; a sister, Mae Wisdom of Hobart, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Osage St. Mrs. Wynn was born in Baton Rouge, La., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. She had worked as a caretaker for Happy Hale and was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Mary Love of Amarillo. The body will not be available for viewing. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 12, 2001 Norman L. Knox Norman L. Knox, 64, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bell Avenue Chapel at Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., with Marvin Knox, brother, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Mr. Knox was born in Pampa and graduated from Borger High School in 1955. A Baptist, he worked as a hospital administrator throughout Texas, retiring from Coronado Community Hospital in Pampa. A past president of Pampa Chamber of Commerce, he was a member of the Lions Club and the Texas Hospital Association. He married his first wife, Emma, in 1957. She died in 1994. He married Margarette Sanders Cox in 1995 at Pampa, and they moved to Amarillo from Houston in 1999. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kerrie Dobbs of Houston, Jean Alice Hunt of Midland and Leslie Ann Donley of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Gaytha Cox-Reid of Amarillo; a stepson, Kenneth Steven Cox of Pampa; two brothers, Edmund Marvin Knox of Stafford, Okla., and Earnest Garvin Knox of Littlefield; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family will be at 6800 Zapata Lane and suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 12, 2001 New Mexico Billy Kent Hodges TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Billy Kent Hodges, 52, formerly of Quay County, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in Fresno, Calif. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Memorial Chapel at Dunn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hodges Family Cemetery at Puerto Canyon, southeast of Tucumcari. Mr. Hodges was born in Norton. After serving with the Navy, he worked road construction in Fresno. Survivors include a son, Nick Hodges of Fresno; a daughter, Wendee Hodges of Fresno; his mother, Marguerite Hodges of Norton; a sister, Patsy Langley of Fresno; four brothers, Dean Hodges and Dale Hodges, both of Tucumcari, Larry Haddon of Bloomfield and Bobby Haddon of Vacaville, Calif. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Patterson-Greer Funeral Home with Bob Garten officiating. Burial will follow in Dryden Cemetery. Mrs. Lewis was born in Gould. She was a member of Hollis Church of Christ. She married Charlie H. Lewis in 1934 at Altus. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack "Jackie" Lewis of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
