Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Runyan was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. He was a 1968 graduate of Palo Duro High School. He graduated from West Texas State University, where he was on a baseball scholarship. After graduation, he worked for several years in the insurance industry. He was employed by Allstate Insurance Co. as a property inspector. His hobbies included baseball and investments. Mr. Runyan was an avid baseball player. He played minor league baseball and was active in Little League and city leagues. He married Lorrie Lathrop on Aug. 31, 1984, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Lorrie; his mother, Lorretta Runyan of Amarillo; a sister, Angie Verner of Amarillo; a niece, Jennifer Verner of Amarillo; and a nephew, David Verner of Amarillo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 12, 2001 Canyon Luvon Hurley Luvon Hurley, 83, of Canyon, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fairmont Cemetery at Lamar, Colo. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home. Mrs. Hurley was a Baptist and a member of the VFW. She volunteered for the Senior Citizens occasionally. Survivors include two sisters, Iva Parker of Amarillo and Ona Collier of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Don Day of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 12, 2001 New Mexico Lyell George Hazen MOSQUERO, N.M. - Lyell George "Jiggs" Hazen, 77, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Mosquero Community Church with the Rev. Roy Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mosquero Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Hazen was born in Mosquero on July 9, 1924. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Hazen of Mosquero; two sons, James S. Hazen of Tucumcari and Jerry Hazen of Mosquero; a brother, Bill Hazen of Hobbs; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be to Mosquero Community Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon Daniel Chavez officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Anton Chico. Mr. Sena worked for the city of Clovis for 43 years in public works as a sanitation driver. He married Elizabeth Brito on June 5, 1988, in Bovina, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, Raul Sena of Clovis, Patricios Sena of Amarillo, and Esteban Sena of Albuquerque; a daughter, Ella Sena Harris of North Pole, Alaska; a stepson, Paul Aragon Jr. of Friona, Texas; two stepdaughters, Judith Soto of Farwell, Texas, and Carol Aragon of Clovis; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was a board member of Local Union 351 and Phillips golf course. Survivors include two sons, Charles Moore of Denver and Raymond Moore of Borger; two daughters, April Thompson and Sylvia Witt, both of Borger; a brother, John Sledge of Sapula, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Price-Jackson Chapel with Bishop Alford Ailey of Dallas officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Doby retired from Quanah Cotton Oil Mill. He farmed for several years. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Sam Doby of Quanah, Curtis Doby of Andrews, and Edward Doby of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Frances Jackson of Wichita Falls and Jacque Cotton of Dallas; three brothers, Vernon King and Napoleon King, both of Houston, and Joe Wiley King of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Maurine Cleveland of Corsicana; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
