Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church in Wheeler with the Rev. Bill Shirel of Muskogee, Okla., United Pentecostal Church and the Rev. M.C. McDaniel of Allison United Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Black married Robert (Bob) Black on Oct. 14, 1928, and they lived on the ranch northeast of Wheeler until 1962 when they moved to Allison. She was a member of the Allison United Pentecostal Church for over 70 years. Survivors include a son, J.R. Black of Fort Stockton; a daughter, Dora Lea Dupont of Okay, Okla.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 13, 2001 Charles W. Darter WELLINGTON - Charles W. Darter, 64, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church with Kerry Hookstra, minister of the First Christian Church of Erick, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Darter was born on March 13, 1937, in Childress to Clarence and Marie Compton Darter. He married Annese Thomas on Sept. 23, 1960, in Ramsey, N.J. He received his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1959 and graduated from Baylor School of Law in 1966. He served in the Army form 1959 to 1962. He moved to Wellington in 1969 and opened his law practice. He served as the 100th Judicial District Attorney from 1974 to 1979. He was the Collingsworth County attorney from 1983 to present. He was active in the youth baseball league from 1967 to 1976. He was a former member of the Rotary Club, Wellington Kiwanis Club and charter member of the Wellington Country Club. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Annese; his mother, Marie Darter of Childress; two sons, Charles W. Darter Jr. of Lubbock and Dr. Thomas Craig Darter of Childress; a brother, C.L. Darter Jr. of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Joy Pendergrass of Whitewright, Doris and Dottie Huddleston, both of Fort Worth; and five grandchildren, Shauna and Shanon Darter of Lubbock and Jason, Mason, Luke and Isaiah Darter, all of Childress. Mrs. Hassell was born Dec. 11, 1926, to Walter Wesley and Cari Mae (Bennett) Boykin in Collingsworth County. She was a member and past president of the West Texas Ladies Golf Association. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Eubanks was born in Whitten, Ala. She moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Muleshoe. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She married L.D. Eubanks Jr. on Jan. 15, 1945, in Gadsden, Ala. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Francis Eubanks in 1945; two grandchildren, Derrick Jason Hudson in 1987 and James Earl Eubanks in 1993; and a sister, Mary Harris in 1994. Survivors include her husband, L.D. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street with the Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Stevenson moved to Amarillo in 1956 from Pueblo, Colo. He married Margaret Payne in 1950 in Sweetwater. He was a retired carpenter and served in the Army. He was also a member of Bolton Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Kenda McDaniel of Amarillo; a son, John C. Stevenson of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Johns of Bertrum; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the V.A. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis. Arrangements are by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Moore was born Nov. 6, 1948, in Memphis. She received a degree in home economics from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and a master's degree in Special Education from Texas Woman's University in Denton. Survivors include her husband, Jeff of Arlington; a daughter, Victoria Lynn Moore of Memphis; a son, Jeffrey Moore of Lewisville; a brother, Robert Lynn Gardner of Memphis; two granddaughters; and a grandson. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Silverton Cemetery with Judge Edwin Norris of Silverton and the Rev. Elvin Norris of Safford, Ariz., officiating. Memorial services will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace at Houston with the Rev. John Keller officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Silverton. Ms. Parker was born in Amarillo on May 26, 1986, to Brit and Virginia Parker and welcomed into this world by her sister, Randi. School and dancing were her loves. She first attended school at the International School of Stavanger in Stavanger, Norway. Her parents took her to Bartlesville, Okla., for a year and then on to Houston in 1993. She was an honor student at Yeager Elementary, Bleyl Middle School and Cypress Creek High School. She danced competitively in both individual and team events with the former champions, Superstars of Spring. A special thanks goes to the doctors, nurses and staff at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for not only the care they gave to Jeri but also the way in which they always went the extra distance for her. Survivors include her parents, Brit and Virginia of Houston; a sister, Randi Parker of Houston; her paternal grandfather, Charlie Parker of Silverton; her maternal grandparents, Sam and Mary Day of Lajitas; and numerous other relatives and friends.
