Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Childress Cemetery with Pastor Don McFarland of Parkview Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Cherry was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Billy "Pee Wee" English of Childress and Oscar English Jr. of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Sanders of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Chapel of the Fountains at Brown Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery at Panhandle. Mrs. Skibinski was a homemaker. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include two sons, Benjamin Beason and L.D. Beason, both of Texas; five daughters, Julia Boothe and June Ellen Kardokus, both of Texas, Betty Lea Cottrell and Beverly Jeane Wilburn, both of California, and Iris May Schweitzer of Arizona; a sister, Marie Dehn of Minnesota; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Valera Cemetery at Valera with the Rev. Bob Johnson, pastor of Westside Baptist Church at San Angelo, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. McMeans was a member of West Side Baptist Church at San Angelo. Since moving to Canadian in 1990, she was active in First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Russell McMeans of Lake Buchanan Dam; a daughter, Hazel Williams of Canadian; a sister, Ruth Laird of Livingston; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Witt was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Alton Witt in 1935. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Witt of Perryton and Danny Witt of Seneca, N.M.; a sister, Fern Lemaster of Perryton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News May 13, 2001 C.L. Holder DUMAS - C.L. "Pete" Holder, 73, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Vincent Kolb, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Holder retired from S.B. Foot Tanning Co., as an Industrial Maintenance Superintendent. He had lived in Dumas since 1949. Mr. Holder was born on July 27, 1927, at Oxford, Miss. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9022 in Dumas. He was a veteran of the Navy Reserve. He married Jo Beth Land on March 20, 1952, at Clayton, N.M. She died on Oct. 27, 1994. His daughter, Leslie Karon Holder, died on Aug. 13, 1996. Survivors include a son, Clayton L. Holder of Grand Prairie; six sisters, Katherine Flowers, Sybil Sibley, Ellen Criswell and Farene Howard, all of Cleveland, Miss., Lorene Cady and Linda Holder Swales of Southaven, Miss.; a grandson, Leslie Eric Holder of Grand Prairie; and a granddaughter, Gina Dyan Holder of Fort Worth. At Pete's request, there will be no viewing or visitation. The family will be at 207 N. Meredith in Dumas. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. "Taloy" Jimenez Sr., 56, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 10, 2001. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church by Monsignor Rex Nicholl. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave. Mr. Jimenez was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. He was a furniture repairman for Texas Furniture. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Jimenez and JoAnna Perez, both of San Fernando, Calif.; a son, Salvador Jimenez Jr. of Amarillo; a sister, Anita Ordaz of El Paso; two brothers, Andy Jimenez of Amarillo and Charlie Gomez of Dallas; his mother, Margaret Gomez of the home; and 10 grandchildren. Fifth Ave. Mrs. Cotter was born in Vernon in 1911. She married L.S. Cotter in 1931. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo and was an active Red Cross volunteer for many years. Her husband died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Cotter and his wife, Cathy, of Wayland, Mass.; three grandchildren, William S. Cotter of Austin, Melissa C. Dempsey of Framingham, Mass., and Karen C. Cotter of New Orleans; and two great-grandchildren, Ben Dempsey and William Dempsey, both of Framingham. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Welch was born in Dumas. She was raised in Amarillo and was a longtime resident. A cosmetologist in Amarillo for many years, she was a member of New Life Four Square Gospel Church. She married Doyle Welch on July 17, 1965, at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Cody Welch of Amarillo; three sisters, Sue Woolsey, Debbie Reeves and Melissa Bible, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Don Cagle of Lubbock and Danny Cagle of Pampa. Her body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests memorials be to New Life Four Square Gospel Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Iglesia Christiana Evangelica Church with Pastor Ray Ramos officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hernandez was born in Poteet. He was raised in San Antonio. A longtime resident of Amarillo, he worked for Pinkney Packing Co. In 1975, he moved to Temple. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include a son, Danny Hernandez of Amarillo; a daughter, Sylvia Yvonne Turner of Wichita Falls; a brother, Rosalio Hernandez of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
