Ms. Bell was a lifetime resident of Pampa until moving to San Jose, Calif., in 1999. She was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters, Jeannie Bell of Idaho, Sandy Strickland of Mountainburg, Ark., and Sue Dietrich of San Jose; a son, Kerry Bell of Harlingen; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 13, 2001 Thomas Lee Grant PAMPA - Thomas Lee Grant, 29, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in W.W. Rix Funeral Directors Chapel at Lubbock. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Grant was born Sept. 5, 1971, in Wichita Falls. He grew up in Lubbock and Plainview. He moved to Douglas, Ga., in 1980 where he lived for 15 years. He moved to Pampa in 2000. He was an auto mechanic for Ford Motor Co. and a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Survivors include two sons, Steven Grant and Darren Grant, both of Douglas; his mother, Debbie Sadler of Lubbock; his stepfather, Gil Sadler of Pampa; his grandparents, Duane and Josie Adams of Lubbock; his great-grandmother, Mary Adams of Lubbock; and a brother, Danny Grant of Lubbock. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 13, 2001 Margie Holmes DUMAS - Margie Holmes, 85, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Ms. Holmes was born July 16, 1916, at Red River County. She had been a Dumas resident since 1950. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was former secretary of her Sunday school and Fidelis Sunday school class. She was the Moore County Tax Assessor from November 1950 to 1981. She married Paul L. Holmes on Feb. 12, 1955, at Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 21, 1977. Survivors include a son, Bill Holmes and wife, Phyllis, of Dumas; a sister, Rachel McGill of Midland; two granddaughters, Rhonda Cartrite and husband Lynn, and Sharla Harmon and husband Scott; seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Keith, Jordan Harmon, Lindsey Harmon, Logan Harmon, Eric Cartrite, Nicole Cartrite Smith and Jaren Cartrite; and a great-great-grandchild. Mr. Johnston was a resident of Denison for 30 years before moving to Pampa two years ago. He was a member of Pottsboro Church of Christ. Mr. Hage was born April 9, 1973, at Thornton, Colo., to Robert Lee McIntosh and Terri Jean Notz. He was employed as a welder for Progress Railroad Services. He also loved to ride bulls in rodeos and was an avid guitar player. He lived for five years with close friends Pete Messer, Kenny Messer and Ernie Messer of Amarillo. Georgia St. Mrs. Pitt was born in Stippeville, Kan., on May 17, 1913, and was the sixth child of 10 children born to Ira and Pearl Cook. She was married for 54 years to Thomas E. "Tom" Pitt. She was a devoted homemaker, an accomplished seamstress and a talented china painter. She was a 60-year member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she taught primary Sunday school and also served as Sunday school superintendent. She also served as a Girl Scout leader. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 23, 1985. Survivors include three daughters, Jerry Siess, Lucy Karr and Tomi Nell Townsend, all of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Carter Karr of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Leona Bell of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Otto L. Pitt of Amarillo; two sisters, Virginia Pitt of Amarillo and Noma Marlatt of Germantown, Md.; a special niece, Judi Parr of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Sherry Adkins, Dr. Tom Karr, Kathy Siess, Laura Lane and Cliff Siess Jr., all of Amarillo, Teresa Rollins of Allen, John Siess of Lafayette, Ga., Bryan Townsend of Cleveland and Brady Townsend of Lakeway; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Tommy Ewing, retired Methodist minister and the Rev. Landrum Medlock of the church officiating. Mr. Barnes was born Jan. 6, 1933, at Sentinel, Okla., and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951. He served in the Air Force, stationed first in Korea and later Italy. He married Raylene Mason on June 18, 1955. He worked at Exell Helium Plant for 31 years, retiring in 1988 as plant manager. He was an active member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church where he faithfully attended the Friendship Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his father, Sanford Barnes in 1988. She was employed by Texas Workforce Commission for 34 years until her retirement in 1977. She painted, was an avid reader, enjoyed music, good food and fellowship, and never lost interest in politics, current events or the health and happiness of her closest friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992. Survivors include a son, Frederick Wallace Fowler and wife, Danna, of Baytown; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of friends. Mrs. Neff was born May 5, 1925, at Atlanta. She married Dr. Sam Neff on Nov. 18, 1950, at Denver. Mr. Thornhill married Grace Baker on Aug. 23, 1947, at WaKeeney. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1982 after more than 30 years of service. Survivors include two sons, Dean Thornhill of Pampa, Texas, and Dana Thornhill of Dumas, Texas; a daughter, Grace Leonard of Tyler; his father, Harold Thornhill of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Pat Riggin of Amarillo and Betty Fletcher of Odessa, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Mr. Schneider was born May 29, 1929, in Groom. He married Joan Schaefer in 1950, at Linn, Mo. He married Monica Houghton in 1982. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving from March 1951 to December 1955. He worked for General Electric X-Ray in June 1956 and moved to El Paso in 1957. He later became a partner in Holmes and Schneider Inc. where he worked for several years. He then formed Accutron and most recently had been owner of Med-Tech Part Sales. He was preceded in death by his second wife in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Schneider and William Schneider; four daughters, Karen Carr, Janet Schneider, Elaine Schneider and Donna Krupinski; two sisters, Viola Keller of Amarillo and Donna Brockman of Fort Rucker; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
