"Andy" Mariner Andrew W. "Andy" Mariner, 35, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Cremation was by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Mariner was born and lived all of his life in Amarillo. He attended Caprock High School and was a baker for Pizza Hut. He loved to play the drums, keyboard, piano and loved playing with his band. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Mariner, in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Mariner of Pampa; his mother, Jeanie Mariner of Amarillo; two sisters, Lora Leah Davidson and Adrienne Wade, both of Amarillo; his grandmother, Pat Hathcock of Amarillo; and by a special friend, Tina Edwards, the mother of his daughter, of Pampa. The family will be at 2905 Arcadia. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 13, 2001 Willie T. Rusk Willie T. Rusk, 87, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Emmanuel Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Elijah Demerson officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Rusk was born and raised in Nacogdoches where he attended public schools. He moved to Amarillo in 1950. He was a member and Elder of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ where he served faithfully for many years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary. Survivors include two sons, Willie Glenn Rusk and Ray Lester Rusk, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Betty Rusk-Richardson and Renee Rusk both of Amarillo; a sister, Effie Redmond of Nacogdoches; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mass was at 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage Street. Miss Haro was born in Juarez, Mexico. She had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was involved in track and volleyball during high school. She graduated from Caprock High School in 2001 and was a business major at Amarillo College. Phillips CLOVIS, N.M. - Billie L. Phillips, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. (MDT) Sunday in Steed-Todd Chapel with the Rev. Terry Bell and Richard Payne officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace at Farwell, Texas, by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips was born Nov. 19, 1926, in Clovis. She retired from Texas Commerce Bank of Lubbock in June 1991. Vigil services were at 7 p.m. Friday in Thomason Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. today in St. John's Catholic Church in San Marcos with the Rev. Richard DeTore, C.M.F., officiating. Burial will be in San Marcos City Cemetery by Thomason Funeral Home. Mr. Gribbon was born June 2, 1931, in Amarillo, to Daniel and Mary Gribbon. He worked in the insurance business in San Marcos for many years. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Danny Gribbon of San Marcos and William F. Gribbon Jr. of Amarillo; two daughters, Susan Sandoval of Pflugerville and Jane Mancuso of Houston; a sister, Mary Margaret Lank of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur Springs with Dr. J.D. Norris and Andy Wright officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Liberty Cemetery in Fordyce, Ark., by West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Jacobs was born April 18, 1923, in Fordyce. He was retired from North East Texas Co-Op where he was a beef consultant and feedlot manager. He married Joan Phillips on March 28, 1969, at Miami, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Cattle Feeding Association and was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Jacobs and wife Mary of Bridgeport, Texas, and John Moroney and wife, Beverly of Burnett, Texas; two daughters, Laurie Fergueson of Whitter, Calif., and Terese Vanderhaar and husband Mark of Yukon, Okla.; a brother, Lester Jacobs of Lurray, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Jones of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 13, 2001 Pauline Turner SILVERTON - Pauline Turner, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Richardson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Methodist Church with the Rev. Edwin Norris and the Rev. Tony Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Silverton. Mrs. Turner was born Sept. 13, 1910, at the Ethel Community in Grayson County. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School and North Texas State Teachers College which is now the University of North Texas. She moved to Silverton in 1941 to teach business classes at the high school. She taught school for 30 years including 18 years at Silverton. She married Orville Turner on Dec. 13, 1942, at Silverton. Shortly after moving there she became a member of the Methodist Church and was a member until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 9, 1983. Survivors include a son, Orville Turner Jr. and wife Carolyn of Plano; a daughter, Paula Emery and husband Chris of Richardson; a sister, Correne Stevens of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, A.L. "Pete" Bates of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, Robert Davis of Flower Mound, Scott Davis and Christopher Davis, both of Plano, James Schertz of Challenge, Calif., Kristin Clark of North Richland Hills, Melody Holland of Aubrey and Corliss Emery of Denton; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
