Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bartley-Silva Memorial Chapel with Elijah Nemmons officiating. Mr. Polite was born Oct. 2, 1906, in Arden, Ark. He married Hannie W. Polite on Dec. 26, 1926. Survivors include a son, Earven Polite of Plainview; a sister, Ivan Trammell of Ash Down, Ark.; two daughters, Willie Faye of Plainview and Emigen Polite of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Tomlinson was a retired operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of Stinnett United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Jim F. Tomlinson of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Barbara Davenport of Stinnett; a brother, G.A. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Martinez married Ramon V. Martinez on Jan. 21, 1946, in Derby. She was a homemaker. Georgia St. Mrs. Bretthauer had been a resident of Amarillo for 60 years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Caperton, in 1988. Joseph Tash, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Jones was born in Westfield, N.Y. She lived in New York and Oklahoma before moving to Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. She worked as a registered nurse for Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for many years before taking medical retirement. After her retirement, she volunteered weekly at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she had been a member for more than 12 years. She married Sam Jones on Sept. 4, 1976, in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Chrystal Jones Gulledge of Maryville, Tenn.; two sons, Charles Jones and his wife Joyce of Clovis, N.M., and James M. Jones of Amarillo; a sister, Patricia Birkenfeld and her husband, Tony, of Amarillo; a brother, Mike Butts and his wife Dysley of Little Rock, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association and Potter-Randall Chapter of the American Heart Association. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Malone was born on Feb. 1, 1920, in Hollis, Okla., to Claud and Nannie Crump Prather. She moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Malone worked in the maintenance and housekeeping department at Amarillo College. She retired in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Paul Rowlett of Amarillo and Gene Crone of Midwest City, Okla.; one twin sister, Neva Vandiver of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Abbott was born on Oct. 31, 1910, in Alanreed, to George Matthew and Vera Boyd Abbott. He was a lifelong farmer and dairyman. He married Izetta Rich of Plainview in Clovis, N.M., in 1930. She preceded him in death in 1999. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Abbott, Ferrell Abbott and Medford Abbott; a sister, Irene; and two grandchildren, Timothy Lynn Abbott and Mark Neil Abbott in 1956. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Blake of Canyon; a son, Ben Abbott of Canyon; a sister, Inez Prichard of Amarillo; three brothers, Clifford Abbott and Joe Abbott, both of Canyon, and Bill Abbott of Lubbock; four grandchildren, David Abbott, Brenda Birkenfeld, Darrin Thompson and Tysha Peterson; and six great-grandchildren.
