Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Rhodes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Huckabay moved to Dimmitt in 1932. She taught school in Dimmitt for 20 years. Survivors include a daughter, Harriett Goodwin of Dimmitt; a son, Nelson W. "Bill" Stephenson of Dimmitt; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 14, 2001 Myron Aaron Beasley DALHART - Myron Aaron Beasley, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. The youngest of 11 children, Mr. Beasley was born April 17, 1916, at Ulysses, Kan., to John W. and Rose Lough Beasley. He graduated from Clayton High School. He became a professional boxer for two years under the name of Ronnie Beasley in the Dalhart and Clayton area. He married Lou Stevenson on Nov. 16, 1940, and they moved to Dalhart a few years later. He worked for HWB Grocery and later became part owner in the company. He retired after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors include two sons, Curtis Beasley and wife, Donna, of Dalhart and Doug Beasley and wife, Sherri, of Amarillo; a daughter, Glenda Kay Beasley Corbitt and husband, Neal, of Temple; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mrs. Barker was born Sept. 26, 1910. She married Sterling Barker on June 21, 1958, in Sayre, Okla. Survivors include three stepchildren, Peggy Atchison and Don Barker, both of Quanah; and Betty Peterson and 13 stepgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Church of Christ. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Fitzgerald married Juanita Williams on Aug. 17, 1946, at Childress. He belonged to Fairview Assembly of God Church. He served in the Army and was a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gerald Tyner of Lubbock and Ronnie Fitzgerald of Amarillo; two sisters, Pearl Baskin of Estelline and Edith Seigler of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. "Loney" Stout Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Joel Floyd of the Mesa Verde congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Stout was born March 31, 1921, at Magnum, Greer County, Okla., to James and Esther Stout. He went home to the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital after a lengthy illness. He lived in Silverton when he enlisted in the Army Air Corp in May 1942. He served in England, France, Scotland and Germany during World War II. He received his honorable discharge Dec. 6, 1945, having earned the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Medal and American Theater Ribbon. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting and later in life, enjoyed bowling. He made his home in Amarillo in 1952. He worked for DAE Motor Freight and retired from Red Ball Motor Freight in 1978 after 26 years. He was an excellent self-taught artist and writer of great stories and poetry. He shared his works with all who knew and loved him. He was a Jehovah's Witness and a member of the Mesa Verde congregation. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther McLeland; his father, James Monroe Stout; a brother, Henry Stout; three sisters, Mildred and Dora Bell Perkins and Wanita Denham; and an infant son, Dickie Ray Stout. Survivors include six children, Tommy McEwan of Houston, Betty Hodan, Judy Sheldon, Brenda Wagner and husband, Larry, Lonita Leal and husband, Daniel, and Loney Stout and wife, Denice, and special children, Joel and Angela Floyd, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Rose Miller of Amarillo and Beatrice Fry of Wyoming; a brother, Charlie McLeland of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Denise, Cherlyn, Larry, Terri, Rebecca, Pamela, Michael, Michelle and a special grandchild, Paris; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Mrs. Monson was born in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Katherine Pulley in 1988; her closest friend, Sue Hester in 2001; and her grandfather, George H. Pulley in 1996. Bobby Hart of Athens officiating. Services will be held at Llano Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Whitaker was born Feb. 7, 1957, at Amarillo. He attended River Road Junior High School and graduated from Caprock High School in 1975. He attended Amarillo College. He lived in Dallas and Trinidad working in construction before joining the Navy 14 years ago. He was an information specialist technician onboard the USS Russell, which was on a six-month deployment to the Middle East. He married Melinda Sue Wood on June 7, 1980, at Dallas. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Whitaker in 1990 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Melinda; a daughter, Lindsay Whitaker of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; a son, Ross Whitaker of Pearl Harbor; his mother, Glenda Faye Sain of Amarillo; two brothers, Roger Whitaker of Amarillo and Rodney Whitaker of Phoenix; and 11 nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Gleason was born Jan. 3, 1916, at Post Oak, to Samuel Garrett and Louisa Melinda Williams McRoberts, pioneer Jack County residents. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo and a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served on many committees, assisted in the church office and in the Sunday school department. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1933 and married Verner C. Norman on Nov. 5, 1933, at Floydada. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was on staff in the general offices of Continental Panhandle Trailways in Amarillo for many years until her retirement in 1985. She married Jack N. Gleason on March 22, 1986, at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sammye Norman Mantooth of Lubbock; two stepsons, James N. Gleason and David Gleason, both of Amarillo; a sister, Amy Patton of Snyder; three grandchildren, Rick Mantooth of San Angelo, Julie Cobb of Lubbock and Jill Dossett of Seminole; four stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a step great-granddaughter. Mrs. Dawson was a longtime resident of Amarillo and a former resident of Wheeler. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 5, 1944, at Fort Lee, Va. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the Air Force. Survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Whaley of Atlanta; a son, Lee Smith of Atlanta; a sister, Sherry Turney of Edmond, Okla.; two brothers, Jack Smith Jr. of Las Cruces and Sheldon Scott Smith of Amarillo, Texas; and two granddaughters. Mrs. Hayden was a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She came to Clovis in 1971 and attended St. James Episcopal Church.
