Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in San Jose Catholic Church with Monsignor Arturo Meza officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Ms. Garcia was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Del Rio, the daughter of Pablo and Elena Marinez. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Jose Garcia Jr. of Hereford; seven daughters, Emma Perez of Colorado, Elva De Leon of Bovina, Irma Garcia of Hereford, Dora Hermosillo of Odessa, Rebecca Larrea of Friona, and Jessica Gaitan and Yolanda Garcia, both of Amarillo; five brothers, Pablo Marinez of Del Rio, Anselmo Marinez and Damacio Marinez, both of Arizona, and Raymond Marinez and Rogelio Marinez, both of Amarillo; 27 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Tosh, 90, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Barrett Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Burt, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Tosh worked for Texaco as a pumper from 1944 until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of Barrett Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edna; three daughters, Barbara D. Foust of Wichita, Kan., and Debra Weaver and Barbara Gage, both of Pampa; a son, Richard K. Tosh of Fort Worth; a sister, Joan Watson of Redding, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, 800 N. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Lefors with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Wariner was a nurse's aide at Highland General Hospital in Pampa for 20 years, retiring in 1966. She also worked at hospitals in McLean and Groom. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbye Combs of Pampa; three sons, James Wariner and Jerry Wariner, both of Liberal, Kan., and Johnny Wariner of Lefors; a sister, Helen Rosson of Seagraves; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He served in the Korean conflict and received 2 Bronze Stars. He owned and operated a barber shop for many years. He married Jewell Miles in 1952. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Len Brown of Arlington; a daughter, Jewelle Beth White of Dallas; a brother, Earl Brown of Amarillo; a sister, Helen Barefield of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 14, 2001 Connie Alleyne Amason Connie Alleyne Amason, 92, of Amarillo, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Amason was married to Robert Lee Amason of Silverton. She was an Avon representative for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1964, and a son, Dr. Robert D. Amason in 1987. Survivors include a son, Tom R. Amason; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association of the Texas Panhandle. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 14, 2001 Elsewhere Dr. J.E. Gerber Jr. Dr. J.E. Gerber Jr, 78, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. No services are scheduled. Cremation was by Sanders Funeral Home. Mr. Gerber was born June 27, 1923, in Spearman. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1950, his master's from UT in 1953 and his doctorate from Georgia State in 1973. While at UT, he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. He was a distinguished member of and supporter of both the University of Texas Longhorn and the Texas Tech Red Raider bands. He served with the Rainbow Division in the World War II European Campaign, earning the Bronze Star with oak cluster, among other awards. While in Austria, he met Erna Handler. They were married on Nov. 8, 1946, in Vienna. She still resides in Lubbock. As a doctor of education, he served more than 30 years as a distinguished educator to the United States military, many of those years overseas. He leaves behind countless friends in many countries, who will dearly miss his intelligent sense of humor, mentorship and fierce loyalty. Survivors include two sons, Walter Gerber of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Glen Gerber of Austin; a sister, Margie Dillon of Lubbock; and three grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001 in First Baptist Church of Aledo. Burial was in Annetta Cemetery in Parker County by White's Funeral Home of Weatherford. Mr. Holcomb was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Raton, N.M. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1964 and West Texas State University in 1969. He was a licensed certified public accountant by age 21. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. He was president of Monarch Tile of San Angelo for 15 years. He served as president of Huntington Pacific Ceramics of Fort Worth and later as president of National Tile and Stone. He was the owner of TOW-OP Systems of Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife Joyce; a daughter, Mandy Rogers and husband, Chris of Wichita Falls; a son, Ty Holcomb and fiancee, Pernille Hensen of Dallas; a stepdaughter, Lindsay Pomroy of Weatherford; a perfect and precious grandson, Ryan Rogers of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Cindy Lickey of Amarillo and Deanna Palmer and husband, Bob of Lubbock; a sister-in-law, Judy Bolf and husband, Scotty of Crane; a brother-in-law, J.T. Mr. Sims married Billie Daniels on March 4, 1944, in Aiken, S.C. He was the owner/operator of Sims Automotive for many years. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny Sims of Enid and William "Bill" Sims of Yukon; a daughter, Vivian Boyle of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Shirley and Juanita, both of Texas; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Saiz-Guerra married Jesse Guerra in Sept. 1991, at Clovis. She worked for 24 years as a custodian for Clovis public schools.
