Mr. Allen was born on June 29, 1934, in the Starkey community to Mrs. Joy Grigsby Allen and the late Mr. Lloyd Edgar Allen. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1951 and attended North Texas State University for one year. He moved to Perryton from Gallup, N.M., in 1970. He was the general manager of United Cable TV from 1970 to 1996. He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of various organizations through the years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, antique collecting, metal detecting and coin collecting. He especially enjoyed his six grandchildren. Mr. Williams was born May 23, 1919, near Claude, to the late I.C. and Xenia Williams. He attended Amarillo High School and the University of Texas. He enjoyed a distinguished career in football, making All-State at the University of Texas in 1941 and later playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Jan. 27, 1947, he married Winnifred Faherty. Mr. Williams spent 26 years in the service of his country as a civil engineer in the Air Force, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. He served in the Pacific during World War II. Later assignments included Korea, England, Taiwan, and Alaska and various other locations in the United States. Mr. Williams was awarded numerous medals for distinguished service and retired in 1967. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the Good Sam Travel Club. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, I.C. Williams Jr. and Rex Williams; and a great-grandson, Daniel Meek. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Meek of Waco; a sister, Ruth Wagner of Amarillo; a brother, Ray Williams of Tempe, Ariz.; three grandsons, Kevin Meek and Patrick Meek, both of Waco and Eric Meek of Garland; and six great-grandchildren. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mary Arless O'Keefe Periman was a longtime Amarillo area teacher. She was born Oct. 11, 1906, on the family farm between Pampa and White Deer, the daughter and fourth of eight children of Rufus Christopher O'Keefe and Stella Pond. At age 11, she won the state competition in Declamation for Rural Girls; competed a second time as a high school senior after winning the regional competition, and won the district high school competition in tennis. A lifelong learner, her career as a teacher began when she was certified, at age 16, by the West Texas Normal School. She graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1929 with a degree in English. She married a WT classmate, Carl Clyde Periman, on Aug. 14, 1933, in Chicago. Her teaching career spanned 24 years including Cuyler School (between Panhandle and White Deer); Hereford Elementary School, 1927-1928; Pampa High School, 1929-1933; and Memphis High School, 1933-1936. In Amarillo, she taught English and Spanish at Elizabeth Nixson Junior High, Sam Houston Junior High and Crockett Junior High before retiring in 1963. Mrs. Periman was a longtime member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught third-grade Sunday school and was active in the Women's Circles. A lifetime volunteer, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of PEO, Delta Kappa Gamma, University Women, Birthday Club, Knife and Fork and Square Dance clubs. She was preceded in death by five brothers and by her husband of 65 years, Judge Carl Periman, who died in 1999. She married Ralph Melvin Anderson on May 30, 1936, in Chicago. She was a longtime resident of Pioneer Health Care Center of Marceline. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her son, Eugene "Gene" Anderson of Hereford, Texas; a sister, Cecilia Logocki of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 15, 2001 Wauline Tollett SAN ANTONIO - Wauline Tollett, 85, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Christ in Borger with Stan Mitchell, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rowe Cemetery of Hedley by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Tollett was born in Hedley and had lived in Borger since 1953. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. She also was a member of the Borger Duplicate Bridge Club and Sunshine Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Tollett was a bookkeeper for Earl's Grocery. She was a supporter for Frank Phillips Basketball team. She married Earl Tollett in 1936 at Hedley. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2000. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Claudine Tollett; and a son, Thomas Earl Tollett. Survivors include three sons, Allen Tollett of Houston, Jimmy Tollett of Plainview and Jeffry Tollett of San Antonio; a sister, Ione Barrow of Tyler; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Emerald Hills Funeral Home of Kennedale. Mr. Ward was born May 19, 1930 in Forrest, N.M. He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War. He loved working with wood, playing Lotto, and watching old westerns on television. Truman was a loving, generous, humorous, and good-natured person who will be greatly missed and always loved by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, June Ward; three sons, Cliff Ward of Rio Rancho, N.M., Roy Ward and his wife, Jacque, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Randy LaRoche of Fort Worth; six daughters, Saundra Holly of Albuquerque, Susan Velasquez and her husband, Tom, of Phoenix, Cara Ward of Orange, Kriste Cumber and her husband, Charles, of El Paso, Carolyn Evans of Granbury and Debbie White and her husband, Robert, of Fort Worth; a sister, Minnie Ola Stewart of Spur; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
