Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Amarillo. Mr. Branch worked for Mobil Oil Co. for 35 years as a production foreman and drilling and completion foreman. He was a member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ in Pampa. Survivors include his wife, Lois; two sons, Glenn Branch of Amarillo and Mel Branch of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Don Fowler and the Rev. Mike Sulivan officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Weber was born in Friona on Oct. 21, 1983. He was a senior at Hereford High School. Survivors include his birth parents, Juan and Deborah Garcia of Tulia; adoptive parents, Clyde and Irene Weber of Hereford; four brothers, Clyde Weber Jr., and Danny West, both of Hereford, Alfred West of Tulia and Craig Weber of Mineola; seven sisters, Carol Barnas of California, Brenda Mize of Shawnee, Okla., Glena Collier of Garden City, Kan., Carol Moore and Amber Weber, both of Hereford, Misty Martin of Amarillo and Ashley Collier of Garden City. Amarillo Globe-News July 15, 2001 Louise Jenkins HIGGINS - Louise Jenkins, 83, died Friday, July 13, 2001, in Ardmore, Okla. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church at Higgins with the Rev. Monte Kries officiating. Arrangements are by Craddock Funeral Home of Ardmore. Mrs. Jenkins was born on Jan. 20, 1918, at Higgins. In 1938, she graduated from Park College with a degree in home economics. She taught for Arnet and Higgins public schools for many years. After retiring, she volunteered for the Shattuck Memorial Hospital and Meals on Wheels in Higgins. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Higgins. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She married Warren Charles Jenkins on May 26, 1940, at Higgins. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Baxter Carlisle Hurn and Edna Mae Hurn; a son, Michael Jenkins; and a son-in-law, Jerold Hanson. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Hanson of Ardmore and Margy Schoenhals and husband, Mark, of Spearman; a brother, Baxter Carlisle Hurn of Dewey, Ariz.; eight grandchildren: Shannon Smith and husband, Mark; Chris Jenkins; Casey Jenkins and wife, Nazema; Stephanie Hanson; Jon Janson and wife, Jennifer; Amy Weaver and husband, Zac; Doran Schoenhals; and Mickey Schoenhals; and three great-grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Smith and Addison Hanson. Amarillo Globe-News July 15, 2001 Martha Elizabeth Morris Martha Elizabeth Morris, 73, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 12, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church at Canyon with the Rev. Ned Creswell, retired Episcopal minister, Pastor Phil Mercado of Trinity Fellowship and the Rev. Clark Williams, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery at Canyon by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Morris was born on April 7, 1928, to B.L. and Bess Morgan in Amarillo. She married Mike Morris on Dec. 6, 1951, at Amarillo. From 1951 to 1993, she lived in Canyon. From 1971 to 1993, she worked at West Texas State University as Head of the Music Library. She was a walker for Equitherapy. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church of Canyon, Daughters of the American Revolution, Amarillo Garden Center and Daughters of the King. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Angela Ridgway of Midland; four sons, Bynum Morris and Rich Morris, both of Canyon, Dave Morris of Amarillo and Doug Morris of Fort Worth; a brother, John Robert Morgan of El Paso; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Toler Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Santa Fe National Cemetery at Santa Fe, N.M., with Pastor John Carpenter officiating. Arrangements are by French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, of Albuquerque, N.M. Mr. Toler was born in Amarillo and returned in 1984. He was an artist and sign painter and owned a ranch in Clarendon. He graduated from Belen High School in 1981. A football player, he was state runner-up two years in wrestling as a heavyweight. He recently attended his 20th school reunion. Steven loved New Mexico. He enjoyed bull riding and bulldogging in the rodeo and was good at breaking horses in his younger years. He served his country in the Navy as an air traffic controller. Hoss also wrestled in the Navy. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Eleanor Toler of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Katherine Hawkins and husband, Russell, of Amarillo; a nephew, Wesley; and an aunt, Helen Bender. He married Jeanette Colson in Amarillo in 1983. He was the parts manager for John Deere Tractors. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Carlile, 96, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 13, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Gary Kellison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Carlile worked for Panhandle Trailways and New Mexico Transportation bus line until his retirement in 1971. He married Marjorie Bell Jones on June 18, 1927, at Sulphur Springs. She died on April 23, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Eugene "Buster" Carlile and Jimmy Carlile, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Margaret Foster of Victoria; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News July 15, 2001 Myrtle Greer Myrtle Greer, 85, of Amarillo and formerly of Muleshoe, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, in Bedford. Services are pending with Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Brother Tindell will officiate. Mrs. Greer was born on Feb. 26, 1916, in Olustee, Okla. Her father was a minister of Primitive Baptist Church. She returned home after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband, N.H. Greer, were previous owners of Greer's Drive Inn on Northeast Eighth. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Gary Lynn Cox. Survivors include a son, Gwineth "G.A." Cox and daughter-in-law Linda Cox of Bedford; a granddaughter and husband, Kim and Mark Liebelt of Canon City, Colo.; a grandson, Shane Cox of Bedford; three great-grandsons, Frank Christopher Prince III, Joshua Gust Liebelt and Dakota Shane Artie Cox; a great-granddaughter, Amber Nicole Liebelt; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lee married Lena Parker on Nov. 18, 1989, at Albuquerque. He was an office foreman for highway construction. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles E. Mr. Perkins was born in Hayden on Jan. 28, 1913, to Isaac Perkins and Nannie Lee (Shields) Perkins. He was a lifetime resident of Union County. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Ikard of Kingfisher, Okla.; a son, James Perkins of Clayton; four sisters, Jewell Hemphill of Clayton and Virginia Beckner, Robena Beckner and Kathrine McFarland, all of Downey, Calif.; and five grandchildren. "Bill" Brand, 78, died Friday, July 13, 2001. Private family services will be held today with Brother Roy Roach officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery at Portales by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Brand served as a medic during World War II and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. He married Frankie Marie Tipton on Dec. 9, 1945, at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Carrol R. Brand of Midland, Texas, and Greg N. Brand of Clovis; a daughter, Lynette Muncrief of Las Cruces; a brother, Jerry Brand of Stockton, Calif.; three sisters, Elsie Smith of Bovina, Jane Huber of Rapid City, S.D., and Ruby Hendergart of Lockeford, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Whitehead was a veteran of World War II. He married Jessie E. Burnett on Nov. 21, 1948.
