Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega with the Rev. Pat Carathers, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Vega, officiating. Arrangements are by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Wincek was born in Chicago. She was a retired farmer. Mrs. Wincek was a resident of Vega from 1977 to 1986, when she moved to St. Paul, Minn., where she resided until moving to Henderson in 1995. She was a Catholic. She married Mack Wincek on June 28, 1934, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Fennel and her husband, Marvin Fennell, of Henderson, Nev., and Jean Walker of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; a son, Ronald Wincek of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Rosemarie Linares of McAllen and Florance Droesser of Monroe, La.; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gilmer moved to Wheeler County in 1930. She married Gradey Thomas Gilmer on July 24, 1934, in Reydon, Okla. Mrs. Kimball was born Oct. 29, 1908, in Strawn, Kan. She moved to Dewey, Okla., as a child with her family by covered wagon. Her family operated a horse-drawn freight business during early oil exploration in Oklahoma. One of their first customers was Frank Phillips, founder of Phillips Petroleum Co. She and her husband, Arthur Kimball, moved to Borger in 1941. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Kimball retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Ardith Henderson of Amarillo; a son, Robert Kimball of Lake O' The Pines; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association, Panhandle Chapter, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home. She was a devoted mother, devoted wife and caring grandmother. He married Judy Moore in 1976 at Indianapolis. He worked for IBP inc. for 17 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park East Mausoleum. Mr. Boland was retired as a CSC (SS) from the Navy in January 1963; he had served during World War II. He was one of the original scouts and raiders. In 1995, he retired from Northwest Texas Hospital, where he had been director of food services. He was past president of the Amarillo Downtown Lions Club. He was a volunteer for the Amarillo Food Bank. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Carlos Chavez as celebrant. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Burns was co-owner, with his brother, of The Burns Agency, a successful real estate and insurance business. He was instrumental in many local civic groups in Clovis. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Burns of Clovis; five sons, Shaun Burns of San Diego, Calif., Tim Burns of Albuquerque, Patrick Burns of Clovis, Denis Burns of McKinney, Texas, and Kevin Burns of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Katherine Skarda of Clovis; and nine grandchildren. Sonja was a past member of the Elks Lodge in Borger. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and rocking in her chair. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Doyle Sanders and Steve Patterson; a grandson, Jeromy Sanders; and five brothers. He was a farmer in Quitaque for many years and retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. Mr. Tate served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Silverton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Tate, on Feb. 11, 2001. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Otis Tate, B.A. Tate, Tommy Tate and Lloyd Cecil Tate; and by a sister, Eula Faye Stokes. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Crawford and her husband, Richard, of Graham; a granddaughter, Tonya Gerhardt of Graham; two sisters, Ola Mae Huntley of Shamrock and Irene Mitchell of North Carolina; two brothers, Bill Tate of Jacksonville and Floyd Tate of Shamrock; and several nieces and nephews.
