Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler-Gordon Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Jerry Davey, of Pleasant Valley Christian Church officiating. Cremation was by Memorial Park Crematory. Mrs. Burk was born May 25, 1931, in Petersburg. She married Bill Burk on Sept. 21, 1947, in Memphis. Survivors include her husband, Bill; three sons, Larry Burk of Amarillo, Billy Burk of The Colony, and Robert Burk of Frisco; a daughter, Karen Patterson of Amarillo; two brothers, Tommy May of Austin and David May of Amarillo; a sister, Ann Jarrell of Richardson; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was fleet owner/terminal manager of Groendyke Transport. Alvin Petty, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin was the assistant vice president of Friona State Bank. She was active in civic activities. Survivors include her husband, Larry; a son, Landon Martin of Friona; a daughter, Amber Drake of Friona; her parents, Rufus and Myrtle Melton of Friona; two sisters, Gail Blouch of Catoosa, Okla., and Carolyn Dement of Friona; two brothers, Doyle Melton of Tulsa Okla., and Ronnie Melton of Friona; and four grandchildren. Ruben Rivera, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Raymond moved to Friona 38 years ago from Harlingen. He worked in the cotton gins as a ginner. Survivors include nine daughters, Nora Barnhart of Bakersfield, Calif., Mary Colunga of Hereford, Mary Lou Gonzales of Edinburg, Nora Gonzales, Janie Mercado, Hope Pena, and Margie Rivera, all of Friona, Jeannie Presley of Chicago, and Mary Raymond of Los Angeles; five sons, Guadalupe Raymond of Friona, Steve Raymond Jr. of Fort Morgan, Colo., Carlsile Raymond of Albuquerque N.M., Fred Raymond of Rio Hondo, Lloyd Raymond of Loma Linda, Calif.; 36 grandchildren; and 61 great-grandchildren. Clarence Francis Garman Clarence Francis Garman, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Robertson Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Ivey Edwards, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Garman was born Aug. 6, 1912, in Greensburg, Kan., and was a resident of Donley County much of his life. He married Blanchie Juanita McCrary. He was a cobbler in his early life and owned and operated his own business for several years. Later he was employed by the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, then by Western Pacific Railroad for many years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Amarillo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 6, 1983. Survivors include a son, Duane Garman of Clarendon; two daughters, Oveta Nielson of San Angelo and Derenda Garrett of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
