Fritts Mildred L. Fritts, 96, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Mike Suiter, minister of San Jacinto Church of Christ, and Glen Walton, minister of Bell Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Fritts married Marvin Fritts Sr. on May 3, 1925, at Hutchinson, Kan. Before moving to Amarillo in 1941, she lived on a farm in Samnorwood. She was a member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include three sons, Marvin V. Fritts and Robert G. Fritts, both of Amarillo, and Louis E. Fritts of Dyer, Nev.; three grandchildren, Sherry Fritts Walker of Littleton, Colo., Jerry Glenn Fritts of Amarillo and Mark Fritts of Monroe, La.; and two great-grandchildren, Misty Child of Dallas and Rachel Fritts of Amarillo. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Glen Walton of Bell Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Moore was raised in Stanford and worked for Ted Lokey Tire and Hebies Service Station. He retired after 22' years at TNM&O Bus Co. He married Verdis Jo Herring on June 30, 1948. They were married 53 years. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Dianne Breazeale of Amarillo, Bobbie Fuqua of San Antonio and Bettie Gafford of Pampa; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 16, 2001 Lex Roney Ray Lex Roney Ray, 94, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Ray was born in Arkansas. He moved to Amarillo in 1914 and attended Amarillo schools. He married Marie Davis in 1938 at Canyon. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 47 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of IBEW Local No. 602 for 55 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Adell Hampton in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy Lex Ray of Minnesota; three grandsons, Michael Ray, Daniel Ray and Brad Langford; and two great-grandsons, Joseph Bates Ray and Tyler Lex Ray. She married Oris Odom on Nov. 8, 1940, at Amarillo. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Burch on Nov. 7, 1999, in Phoenix. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Michal Ann Whitehead and Julie Lyn Ritchie, both of Amarillo; a son, Oris L. "Buddy" Odom II of Red Springs; a sister, Sharline Reedy of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Jim Burch of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Belcher was born Dec. 5, 1921, at Anadarko, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mrs. Peterson was born June, 12, 1960, at Liberal. She married Curtis Jay Peterson on June 12, 1978, at Hooker. Survivors include her husband; a son, Justin Peterson of Liberal; her parents, Ralph and Jenelle Hill of Amarillo, Texas; a brother, Kelly Hill of Amarillo; a sister, Karalee Hill of Liberal; her grandmother, Nellie Hill of Liberal; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 16, 2001 Elsewhere Winifred M. Evers LUBBOCK - Winifred M. Evers, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with the Rev. James O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Resthaven Funeral Home. Mrs. Evers was born on April 25, 1915, at London, England, and graduated from Austin High School in El Paso. She married Olin G. Evers on Aug. 16, 1941, at Lubbock. She was a violinist with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra for several years. She taught piano and violin for many years. She was a resident of Lubbock and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 22, 2000; and a son, Ernie Joe Evers on April 22, 1950. Survivors include two brothers, R.W. McPhillips Jr. and Tommy McPhillips; three sisters, Pauline Watson, Marjorie Storseth and Ann Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
