Services will be at 2 p.m. today in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson of the church and the Rev. Jimmy Neff of First Baptist Church in Edmonson officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Gresham was born in Bradshaw and attended schools there. She moved to Plainview in 1958. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Edmonson. She married Darrell Gresham in 1949 at Wingate. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Gene Gresham. Survivors include her husband; a son, James Ray Gresham of Rising Star; two brothers, Morris Sanders of Abilene and Wilford Sanders of Caldwell; three sisters, Elsie Lee Sanders and Fannie Mae Sanders, both of Caldwell, and Lucille Walker of Conroe; and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker, a retired cook and member of the Assembly of God. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 17, 2001 Susie Ione Cushing CLARENDON - Susie Ione Cushing, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Lockney. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cushing was born in Sterling County and was a resident of Ector County before moving to Briscoe County in 1949. She was a homemaker and was involved in ranching most of her life. She was a member of the Silverton United Methodist Church. She married William Ernest "Bill" Cushing in 1931 at Carlsbad, N.M. He died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Gayle Smith in 2000. Survivors include a sister, Marie Revell of Houston; a brother, R.D. Mrs. Bowles was born in Headrick, Okla. She was raised on Sweetwater Creek in Wheeler County and moved to Pampa in 1963. She owned Morea's Cafe in Wheeler and worked at The Rogue Theater. She was a member of Wheeler First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by a son, Chester Kenneth Bowles. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 17, 2001 Creed Smith PAMPA - Creed Smith, 83, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Roxton and raised in Estelline. He served with the Texas Defense Guard from 1941 to 1943 when he joined the Navy, serving as a Seabee during World War II. In 1946 he began working for Skelly Oil Co., and retired as plant superintendent from Getty Oil in 1982. He moved to Clarendon in 1983 and purchased a farm. He returned to Pampa in 2000. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and the Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM. He married Marion Clesta "Jake" Anderson in 1949 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kirk Smith of Hooker, Okla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. "Cleston" Pritchett, 71, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Gateway Church of Christ with Jimmy Sportsman officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Mr. Pritchett was born in Spur, Texas. During the Korean War, he served in the Air Force. In 1974, he moved from Amarillo to Ruidoso. He owned Pritchett Construction and was a member of White Mountain Search and Rescue for 15 years. He also was a member of Lincoln County Home Builders Association, the Kiwanis Club and Gateway Church of Christ, where he had served as elder for 22 years. Mr. Pritchett married Jany Boonstra in 1956 at Amsterdam, Holland. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Pritchett of Ruidoso and Ricky Pritchett, both of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Kathy Osborne of Ruidoso; a brother, Randolph Pritchett of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and two grandsons. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Keeter was born in St. Louis. She was educated in Wichita, Kan., and attended Bryn Maur College in Lynchburg, Va. She was living in Amarillo with her family when she met and later married Lester F. Keeter in 1934 at Sayre, Okla. They lived in various places before moving to Clovis from Midland, Texas in 1970. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Keeter was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Survivors include nephews, including Frank Sullivan of Orlando, Fla.; and nieces, including Mary Forester of Clovis, Judy Armstrong of Reno, Nev., and Patsy Johnson of Hesperia, Calif. Additional services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, in Pampa, Texas, with the Rev. Gene Allen, retired Full Gospel minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mrs. Ferguson was born in Midland, Texas. She was a a homemaker and a member of the Glory Bound Church in Marlow. Survivors include two sons, Joshua Wayne Ferguson of Amarillo and Garrison Scot Ferguson of Round Rock, Texas; her parents, Tommy and Margaret Mason of Duncan; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Prine of Midland and Delora Mason of Lawton; and a granddaughter. The family be at 1109 Willow Road in Pampa. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 17, 2001 Theressa Nelle Wingert BOISE CITY, Okla. - Theressa Nelle Wingert, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boise City Christian Church with Tom Milburn officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mrs. Wingert was born in Beaver. She moved to Boise City with her parents in 1929, attending school and playing basketball there. She married James Wingert in 1941 at Guymon. She remained in Boise City while he served during World War II. After the war, they lived in southeast Colorado and the Oklahoma Panhandle for several years before moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1957. She was an electromechanical technician at Hewlett Packard in Colorado Springs. They returned to Boise City in 1986. They were members of a camping trailer club. Survivors include her husband; a son, James K. Wingert of Castro Valley, Calif; two daughters, Brenda K. Wingert and Paula J. Beckham, both of Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to BSA Hospice in Amarillo or the American Diabetes Association. Memorials will be accepted at the mortuary. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 17, 2001 Rita Longbotham GUYMON, Okla. - Rita Dingus Longbotham, 92, formerly of Guymon, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in Denver. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Henson-Novak Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Shannon Davis, associate minister of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Private graveside rites will be held in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Longbotham was born in Comanche County, Texas. She graduated from Munday High School in Munday, Texas in 1926 and studied bookkeeping and Morse code at Stephen F. Austin State College. She worked in small-town telegraph offices before moving to Guymon in the mid-1930s. She married Clyde Longbotham in 1938. They owned and operated Longbotham Wholesale until selling it in the 1970s. Her husband died in 1976. Mrs. Longbotham was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, was active in United Methodist Women and volunteered for the hospital auxiliary. She volunteered with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Dunaway Manor. She was a member of the New Century Club, Sigma Phi Club and Guymon Rock Club. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Longbotham Molliconi of Denver and Orlando, Fla., and Mary Longbotham Kitchel of Portland, Ore.; a son, Joe Longbotham of Payson, Ariz.; a brother, Bill Dingus of Pampa; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be to a favorite charity or the Loaves & Fishes Food Cupboard. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home. She was a retired practical nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She married Lloyd Hamlin in 1935. He died in 1988. Survivors include two sons, Al Hamlin of Burleson and Don Hamlin of Houston; a daughter, Barbara Godfrey of Amarillo; three sisters, Jackie Hollingsworth of Hale Center, Juanita Carpenter of Sunland, Calif., and Hazel Gray of Abilene; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ms. DeFoor was born in Graham. She spent her youth in California before moving to Texas 60 years ago. She moved back to California in 1990, then returned to the Amarillo area in 1999. She was involved in the motion picture industry as a youth. She was a homemaker and a retired nurse. She was a Baptist and attended nursing home services for many years. Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Alexander Dietzel of Ridgecrest, Calif., Linda Alexander Thomas and Judy Brock Young, both of Amarillo and Rebecca "Becky" Brock Davis of Breckenridge; a son, Douglas Brock of Ketchum, Idaho; a sister, Lorene Mier of Bakersfield, Calif; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She retired from the collections department at St. Anthony's Hospital after 17 years. She was a member of the T.E.D. Club, St. Anthony's Auxiliary, the Women's Federation and San Jacinto United Methodist Church. She married Homer Tuttle in 1925 at Fargo. He died in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Gleva Word of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Melanie Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., and Debbie Seideman of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren. Survivors include two nephews, Richard Lee Collins of Amarillo and Orland Gilbert of Lubbock; a niece, Janny Jackson of Plainview; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. Survivors include four cousins, Pearline Johnson of Wichita Falls, Precious Barksdale of Carlsbad, N.M., Mary Francis Abbott of San Diego and Elesia Perry of Amarillo; and a special friend, Artie Brooks of Amarillo.
