Services will be at 2 p.m. today at 1302 Willow Lane with Bill Hunter officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born July 21, 1932, in Dimmitt, to Harry and Eddie Lee Allen Smith. He was raised in Castro County and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1950. He was a Golden Globe Champion Boxer and served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. On Aug. 4, 1956, he married Carlene Bennier in Yuma, Ariz. He and Carlene moved to Dalhart in 1957. He was a well-known cattle buyer, an avid horse raiser and a cattleman. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brent Smith of Tulsa, Okla., and David Smith of Dalhart; two daughters, Nancy Smith and Sherry McKean, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Neal Smith of Clifton and Ray Smith of Dalhart; and seven grandchildren, Nickolas, Madyson, Wil, Jeffrey, Paige, Emily and Tyler. Miss Rodriguez was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Alamo, N.M. She was a homemaker. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born in Medicine Lodge, Kan. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1948. He served in the Army near the end of World War II. After the war, he attended Amarillo College, West Texas State University and graduated from the University of Kansas. He owned and operated Southwest Barber and Beauty Supply from 1948 until 1984. He was a private pilot and was active in the Texas Aviation Historical Society. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He married June Holmberg on Feb. 21, 1959, at Wichita Falls. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laura Kimbrell of Amarillo and Toni Hoover of Lubbock; a son, Samuel Phillip Wilson IV of Angel Fire, N.M.; two granddaughters, Tiffany Roberts and Tawney Roberts; and a grandson, Christopher Kimbrell. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa, Texas, with Dr. Randy White, pastor of First Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Ms. Welborn was born Jan. 16, 1920, at Waxahachie. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Mike Welborn of Orlando, Fla., and Rick Welborn of Ashmore; four daughters, Charlotte Kleiss of Tuscola, Jeryl Ploeger and Sylvia Mize, both of Champaign, and Kathy Montoya of Wake Forest, N.C.; a brother, Jessie Lee Simmons of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Sally Morrison of Longview, Texas; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 17, 2001 Clara Laverne Fee NAMPA, Idaho - Clara Laverne Fee, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas, with Dr. Chester Beavers officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate. Mrs. Fee was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Groom, Texas. She was the eldest child of Homer and Lola Cranmer. She lived on the farm in Groom with her parents until 1934 when she married Dee Fee. They had a long and loving relationship until his death. They loved to dance and party together. Guests at the Fee house were frequent and included friends from all over the country. Their home was always open for friends. She had a 25-year career with Southwestern Bell and retired in 1974. She held several positions and retired as head operator. She was never at a loss for words and always spoke her mind. She had been living in Idaho with her nephew, Billy Dee, for the last five years. She was preceded in death by her husband in March of 1986, her parents and brother, H.R. Cranmer. Survivors include a brother, J.L. Cranmer and wife, Margie of Amarillo; two sisters, Narcesia Baker and husband, Harold of Monroe, La., and Bernice Hathaway and husband, A.V. of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Louise Cranmer of Amarillo; and five nieces and nephews, Beverly Walker and husband, Dennis, E.H. Baker and wife, Ambia, Billy Dee Baker and wife, Debra, Sydney Roach and husband, Wayne, and R. Lee Cranmer and wife, Linda. The family suggests memorials be to hcospice or a favorite charity. Mrs. Hamilton married James Hamilton in Kansas City, Kan. She was a member of the VFW Post 25 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include four sons, Billy Beaman and Rolland Beaman, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Hugh Pat Beaman and Paul Beaman, both of Clovis; a daughter, Mary Hill of England; two brothers, Marvin Freeman of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Sidney Owens of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Bernice Freeman and Doris Pearson, both of Kansas City, Kan.; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
