She was a founding member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and attended St. Mark's Anglican Episcopal Church. She owned and operated Dal-Ann Greenhouse and was a member of the Iris Society. She also was a founding member of the Amarillo Garden Center and served as a volunteer at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Jerry" Harrison. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he received a bachelor's degree in education from Texas Christian University, where he was an all-state defensive end and captain of the track team in 1932. In 1951, he received a master's degree from West Texas State College. He was a teacher and coach at Amarillo and Tascosa High Schools. In 1989, he was elected to the Abilene Public Schools Athletic Hall of Honor. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married Vonceil Hay in 1933 at Norman, Okla. She died in 1986. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mrs. Noriega was born in San Marcos. She was a member of St. Francis Society, Crusillista, Guadalupana and St. Paul Ladies Organization. She married Guadalupe Noriega in 1968 at Tulia. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Georgina Peralez of Lockney, Monica Noriega of St. John, Kan., and Michelle Noriega of Tulia; five sons, Chris Noriega of Grand Prairie, Gabriel Noriega of Amarillo, Robert Noriega of Kress, Jesse Noriega of Plainview and Solomon "Sam" Noriega of Tulia; two sisters, Lupe Reyes of Kress and Sister Theodora Reyes of Amarillo; two brothers, Cruz Reyes and Andrew Reyes, both of Kress; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Jones was born in Seminole. He attended West Texas and Angelo State universities and later worked for Dillard's department stores. Before moving to Charlotte, he lived in Oklahoma City. Mr. Martin was born in Tipton, Okla., and moved to Earth in 1950 from Tipton, Okla. An elder, song leader and member of Earth Church of Christ, he taught Sunday school and was a farmer and pilot. In 1970, he was selected Earth Farmer of the Year. He married Iona Ash in 1949. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debby Weldon of Earth; his father, Perry Martin of Earth; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A 1961 graduate of Morton High School, she was a homemaker and a member of Emlea Smith Junior Study Club of Morton and First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She married Loy Kern in 1962 at Morton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Llano Mausoleum Chapel with Leland Hutson, associate minister of Canyon Hills Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Shipman was born in Magazine, Ark., and had lived in Canyon for 18 years. She worked in the laundry at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Shipman, in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Margie Teel of Tulia; three sisters, Edress Key and Marie Lesembee of Houston and Bessie Brown of Fort Worth; a brother, Arthur Capper of Matthews of Houston; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. "Libro" Martinez, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in the church by the Rev. John C. Daniel. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Martinez was born in Tremintina, N.M., and was a longtime resident of Tucumcari. An auto body repair man, he was working at Tucumcari Motor Co. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Rufina Martinez; a daughter, Bernadette Lucero of Albuquerque; three sons, James Martinez Jr. of San Isidro, Jonathan Martinez of Rio Rancho and Christopher Martinez of New Hampshire; three brothers, Johnny Martinez, Jerry Martinez and Lawrence Martinez, all of Tucumcari; two sisters, Corine Andrada and Rose Calbert, both of Tucumcari; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Feb. 18, 2001 Tom Douglas Riddle MELROSE, N.M. - Tom Douglas Riddle, 98, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Melrose Cemetery. Arrangements were by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Riddle was born in Van Zandt, Texas, and graduated from school in Montezuma in 1922. After graduating from Hardin-Simmons University in 1928, he taught in Eldorado, Texas, and later, in Carlsbad. In 1968, he retired as Superintendent of Schools in Roy. He served as deacon and was a member of First Baptist Church in Melrose. He married Maye Williams in 1992 at Melrose. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom Ray Riddle of Melrose and Bobby Gene Riddle of Athens, Texas; three stepsons, Jay Williams of Tulsa, Okla., Joe Williams of Tucson, Ariz., and Bill Williams of Clovis; two stepdaughters, Mary Paggett of Lubbock, Texas, and Sue Pankey of Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Mr. Logsdon served with the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired as a contract pumper in the oil industry. He married Toni Swindle in 1948 at Dalhart. She died in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Victor Hamilton of Minnesota and Bobby Hamilton of Hobbs, N.M.; two daughters, Christie Callaway and Carol Coble, both of Texhoma; two brothers, Bill Hamilton of Houston and Dave Hamilton of Denver; eight grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Caudle LUBBOCK - Cecil E. Caudle, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Northside Church of Christ with Jim Brewer and Charles Stephenson, ministers of South Plains Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park by the Chapel of Angels Funeral Home. Mr. Caudle was born in Lamar, Colo. He attended school in Hale Center. During World War II, he served with the Army in New Guinea and Australia. In 1948 he moved to Lubbock, where he retired from Ralston Purina Mills. He was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. He was married to Dora Young in 1969 at Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Mitchell Caudle, in 1968. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Greenlee of Wolffarth and Anna Sue Preece of Louisiana; two sons, Leland Young of Woodrow and Alton Eugene Caudle of Louisiana; two brothers, W.J. Caudle of Lubbock and Ben Caudle of Amarillo; a sister, Georgia Handley of Phoenix; 14 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Children's Home of Lubbock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery by Murray Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Clark was born in Amarillo, Texas, where she graduated from public schools. After receiving an associate degree from Amarillo College, a bachelor of arts degree from the University of New Mexico and a master of science degree from San Francisco State University, she retired from the Social Security Administration in 1994. She was an African Methodist Episcopal Church member and a former member of Johnson Chapel of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband, Nehemiah Clark of East Point; her father, Charley Wilson of Phoenix; brothers and sisters.
