Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church at Hartley with Mike Venable of the church officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in West Park Cemetery at Hereford by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Dorothy Opal DeBock was born July 23, 1921, at Quinlan, Okla., to Nettie DeBock and Wilfred Johns. She graduated from Quinlan High School in 1939. She married G.H. Parker on July 15, 1939, at Mooreland, Okla. G.H. and Dorothy moved to Hereford, where they were involved in farming. Her husband preceded her in death on June 9, 1947. While raising her four children in Hereford, Dorothy sold Stanley products and worked as a waitress at Western Wheel Inn. In the mid 1950s, she owned and operated The Chocolate Shop/Newsstand. She also worked as a teller at First National Bank in Hereford from 1956-1975. Dorothy married Carl Moseley on May 26, 1962. Carl and Dorothy moved to Quinlan in 1975. They were active members of Quinlan United Methodist Church. Carl died in January 1984. Dorothy moved to Hartley in January 2000. Survivors include a son, Joe Parker of Hartley; three daughters, Linda Burrus of Vernon, Verena Thompson of Dalhart and Toni Hale of Hartley; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 115 W. First St., Dumas, TX 79029. Amarillo Globe-News June 18, 2001 Bob Berry HART - Bob Berry, 63, of Lubbock, died Saturday, June 16, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church at Hart with the Rev. Tom Long, pastor, and the Rev. Perry Hunsaker of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia. Arrangements are by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. After graduating from the Amarillo Police Academy in 1958, he worked for the Amarillo Police Department for several years. He married Kay Evans on Aug. 18, 1961, at Canyon. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betsy Bob of Lubbock; a brother, Bud Berry of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Amarillo; or the American Cancer Society. Amarillo Globe-News June 18, 2001 Atha M. Wilks HEREFORD - Atha M. Wilks, 91, died Thursday, June 14, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilks was a member of Altrusa and the American Association of University Women. She was an accomplished organist. Survivors include two sons, David Wilks of Highland Ranch, Colo., and Andy Wilks of Hereford; a daughter, Margaret Haynes of Duncan, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church in Pampa. Amarillo Globe-News June 18, 2001 Amarillo Faire M. Ecker Faire M. Ecker, 93, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 16, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Ecker was a volunteer disaster nurse for the American Red Cross. She was also an emergency room nurse for Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a member of the third graduating class of Northwest Texas School of Nursing. Survivors include her husband, Norman Ecker; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Alzheimer's Association of the Texas Panhandle. Amarillo Globe-News June 18, 2001 Royce M. Conoley Royce M. Conoley, 82, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 14, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Conoley graduated from Amarillo High School in 1935. He was a World War II veteran. His son, Claud Michael Conoley, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, David Conoley of California; a son, Thomas C. Conoley of Amarillo; a daughter, Ann Bailiff of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Boy Scouts of America. Amarillo Globe-News June 18, 2001 Wilburn Elvon Black Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Scott Richards of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Black was born in Wellington. He graduated from Amarillo High School. For 23 years, he worked at Pinkney Packing Co., and retired as an electrician from Pantex. He retired from the Navy Reserves as a master chief after 32 years of service. He was a volunteer at the VA Hospital for 12 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He married Virginia Edwards in 1937 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rita Black of Graham; a son, Ray Black of Graham; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
