He preceded her in death in 1957. She retired in 1974 from Cornell and Company where she worked as an accountant for many years. She was an active charter member of the Pilot Club of Amarillo and was also a member of the American Business Women's Association. She enjoyed playing Bridge and line dancing with her friends at the Amarillo Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Donald R. She was a preschool teacher at First Christian Church and later was an instrumental music instructor for many of the elementary schools in the Amarillo Independent School District. Most recently, she was the instrumental music instructor at Sam Houston Middle School and the school's orchestra director. She was also the assistant orchestra director for Tascosa High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Texas Music Educators Association.
