Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega with the Rev. James Peach, pastor of First Baptist Church at Vega, officiating. Arrangements are by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Blasingame was born in Vega and had lived there all his life. He worked for the highway department. He was a member of First Baptist Church at Vega. He loved to carve wood. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Blasingame; three sons, Mark Blasingame of Dallas, Michael Blasingame of Vega and Danny Dickerson of Muleshoe; four daughters, Peggy Harle and Kathy George, both of Vega, Becky Newsome of Godley, and Lisa Davis of Nashville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Eighth in Vega. Amarillo Daily News, April 20, 2001 Rubye Lee Ramming WHITE DEER - Rubye Lee Ramming, 90, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the White Deer Cemetery with her grandson, Chris Coffman, a layman at First Baptist Church in Panhandle, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Ramming was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Wichita County. She married Arnold John Ramming on July 20, 1929, in Lawton, Okla. They lived in Wichita Falls after their marriage. In 1935 they moved to Groom, where they farmed until 1950, when they moved to a ranch at Hope, Ark., and later moved to Pampa. The Rammings built and operated motels in Pampa, Memphis, Childress, Durant, Okla., and Fredrick, Okla. They retired and lived at their lake house on Lake Texhoma, Pottsboro, until 1980, when they moved to White Deer. Mr. Ramming preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Ramming was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers and the White Deer Senior Citizens. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Coffman, in 1996. Survivors include a son and daughterin-law, Rick and Nita Ramming of White Deer; a daughter and son-in-law, Nan and Richard Chavez of Ruidoso, N.M.; five grandchildren and their spouses, R.D. Ramming and Vicki Lynn Hillis, both of White Deer, Pamela Kay and Jeff Cartwright and Chris and Brenda Coffman, all of Panhandle, and Teri and Dennis Williams of Lefors; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He married his wife, Faye, on May 23, 1926, in Bryan County, Okla. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by three sons and three daughters. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors include two daughters, Norma Young of Ralls and Pat Noble of Tulia; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Easley, 92, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Llano Mausoleum Chapel in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, of Amarillo. Mr. Easley was born in Hemphill County, north of Old Mobeetie, on Aug. 24, 1908. He had resided in Dalhart since 1949. He was a World War II veteran, serving from 1941 to 1946. He was stationed in South Africa, France, Italy and Germany. He farmed and ranched in Sunray and Dallam County until his retirement. Mr. Easley was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Burk Easley, in 1990; and by six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews, R.L. Easley, Gary Easley and Pam Purdy, all of Spearman, Martha Booher of Amarillo and Bobby Easley, Tim Easley, Karen With, Glennis Easley, Gwendolyn Easley and Jane Bermzweig, all of the San Francisco area. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1996, after many years of service. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1475. She also was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cimarron and a past member of the Rolling Hills Riding Club. She married James Litton on April 15, 1959, at Cimarron. She was a lifetime area resident, living in Borger, Pampa, Floydada, Hereford, Lubbock and Amarillo. She was active in community and civic organizations at each location. She was selected outstanding Jaycette in 1965, while living in Pampa. She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo and attended Wednesday morning Bible study class at the church. Survivors include a daughter, Joni Webb of San Antonio; and two brothers, Del Prince of Independence, Kan., and N.C. Prince of Tyler. Sample, 91, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 19, 2001. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery East with the Rev. Jeff Raines, of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Dr. Sample was born in Rich Hill, Mo. He married Mary Lee Musgrove in 1942 at Oklahoma City. She preceded him in death in 1987. He received his bachelor's degree in 1931 and his master's degree in 1936 from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. He also received a master's degree in 1947 from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and a doctorate of philosophy in 1952 from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. Dr. Sample was a veteran teacher of English, French, Spanish, Latin and history. He taught at Morgan School for Boys in Petersburg, Tenn., in the public school system in Pittsburg, and at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. He also taught at Amarillo High School, Tascosa High School and at Amarillo Evening College. Dr. Sample entered the Army in 1942 with the Quartermaster Corps. During World War II he served in Europe with the 8th Air Force. He was awarded Battle Stars for the Rhineland Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge in Central Europe. Dr. Sample retired in 1969 with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was the author of five scholarly articles. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Sample, in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Fry of Amarillo; and a grandson. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church building fund. Burial will be in memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Harris moved to Amarillo from Duncan, Okla., in 1972. She was affiliated with the AOK Camper Park in Amarillo. She married Norman F. Harris on March 15, 1937. He preceded her in death in December 1999. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Ann Taylor of Lindsay, Okla., in July 2000. She was a member of Olsen Park Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Terry Harris of Amarillo and Johnny Harris of Seminole; a daughter, Janet Sue Barnes of Falcon Head, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
